Position Summary :
Due to a promotion, we are seeking an experienced Sales Manager located in Cincinnati or Columbus, who will lead a team of 12 Account Executives in generating growth within their respective regions.
This individual will be responsible for generating revenue growth and achieving individual, team, and organizational goals covering Ohio and Kentucky.
In this role you will be a valuable contributor to the regional sales strategy, leading implementation, and driving execution to achieve corporate objectives.
Ideal candidates should possess a solid business-to-business product sales and management history.
Responsibilities :
- Regional leader whose primary objectives are to exceed territory growth, revenue quota, organizational health, and customer satisfaction goals
- Grow and develop a team of qualified sales professionals with high potential and a proven track record of success
- Lead and manage a high-performance, customer-focused team of Account Executives (AE) to deliver customer business value and solid customer relationships
- Coach direct reports in sales strategy, pipeline management, opportunity management and career planning / development
- Apply knowledge of the business, industry, and domain expertise to assist AEs in identifying, creating, and closing profitable, margin-enhancing business opportunities
- Help grow and maintain a healthy vendor ecosystem to drive sales
- Meet personal and team goals for profit, number of calls, and other sales metrics
- Manage and close complex sales cycles with C-level decision-makers
- Up to 20% of overnight travel
Qualifications :
- Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from a four-year college or university; or a minimum of five years of sales experience and / or training within the packaging industry and five years in sales management
- Sales experience in an industrial setting or packaging preferred.
- In-depth sales experience with a strong understanding of the solution-selling process
- Effective influencing skills adept at the ability to understand the needs of, and ability to influence, personnel ranging up to C-level decision-makers
- Strong analytical skills to effectively track sales activity, develop sales plans, understand the local market and competitive trends, and complete the analysis of sales deals
- Strong financial acumen
- Solid Microsoft Office skills with emphasis on Outlook, Word, and Excel

A Technical Sales Specialist is an entry level role and an extension of the Product Manager of Technical Sales. The Technical Sales Specialist combines technical knowledge with sales skills to specific product lines for 3M and Combi box sealer and former equipment.
The Technical Sales Specialist is responsible to develop and deliver sales training to new Shorr Packaging sales representative, meeting with customers to understand customer needs for box sealers and formers, researching best solutions and preparing proposals for customers.
To ensure customer's needs are met, the Technical Sales Specialist works closely with 3M and Combi, Shorr sales force and a range of departments, such as research, development, design, purchasing, production, quality, and senior company managers.
Responsibilities
Provide technical and sales support to sales rep through direct customer contact. Train sales reps on sales techniques and product features and benefits.
Recommend other sales aids.
May provide consultation on complex projects and is considered to be the top-level contributor / specialist.
Assist Outside Sales Representatives in the preparation of system proposals. Prepare proposal templates for all standard equipment.
Meeting regular sales targets, report on current activity, forecasts, customer needs, and market conditions to aid the sales force in increasing sales.
Maintain a project pipeline with enough business opportunity to meet or exceed the sales goals established.

Managing and interpreting customer requirements including :
- Providing pre-sales technical assistance and product education.
- Listening to clients and using astute questioning to understand, anticipate and exceed their needs.
- Persuading clients that a product or service will best satisfy their needs in terms of quality, price and delivery. Making technical presentations and demonstrating how a product will meet client needs.
- Negotiating tender and contract terms, to meet both client and company needs.
- Negotiating and closing sales by agreeing terms and conditions.
- Assists sales reps as necessary in the sale of equipment.
- Coordinate customer equipment issues including set up / installation, maintenance, and customer training.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year College or university; or three to four years related experience and / or training;
or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Mechanical aptitude and interest preferred
Microsoft Office with emphasis on Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
