Position Title : Housekeeping Aide
Occupational Exposure : Category I
Department : Housekeeping
Reports To : Director of Environmental Services / Housekeeping Supervisor
Position Summary : The Housekeeping Aide insures that the center is maintained in a clean and sanitary condition at all times to provide for care and welfare of the customers in a healthful environment.
In addition, he / she insures that good housekeeping services are performed in every department of the center and are planned in cooperation with the department head.
Responsibilities / Accountabilities :
- 1. Follows specific cleaning and service instructions as outlined by the director of environmental services;
- 2. Follows cleaning procedures in a safe manner;
- 3. Completes all assignments scheduled in each unit;
- 4. Gives an assigned unit the attention needed to provide a sanitary, odor free, orderly environment for all concerns;
- 5. Checks stock and notifies supervisor of supply needs;
- 6. Maintains equipment in good working condition and returns it to proper location after use;
- 7. Assists with room changes, as needed;
- 8. Puts Customer Service First : Ensures that customers and families receive the highest quality of service in a caring and compassionate atmosphere which recognizes the individuals’ needs and rights;
9. Performs other duties as requested.
Specific Educational / Vocational Requirements :
1. High school degree or equivalent is preferred.
2. Must be able to read, write and understand the English language.
Job Skills :
1. Good physical condition.
2. Working knowledge of standard materials.
3. Knowledge of techniques and equipment used in cleaning activities.
4. Knowledge of cleaning materials and reason for their use.
5. Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
6. Ability to positively interact with personnel, customers, family members, visitors, government agencies / personnel and the general public.
7. Provide annual verification of a negative TB skin test.
Performs Related Duties :
1. Interact with customers, families, visitors, center and Care Center Facility subsidiary personnel.
2. Carries out other tasks as requested in situations where hands-on intervention / participation may be required.
Security
Sheridan Village Nursing and Rehabilitation Center -
OVERVIEW : The Security Guard performs designated work and assists with front desk duties. Reports directly to Administrator.
QUALIFICATIONS : Must be a high school graduate. Must exhibit good customer service skills with callers, visitors, residents, and staff.
Previous security experience is preferred but training will be provided. Ability to answer phones, direct resident and visitor traffic, and assist with the general duties of front desk staff.
The Security Guard will be able and willing to work flexible hours, such as during a emergency situation and must be patient and tolerant towards staff, residents, and visitors.
DUTIES :
- Perform defined work routines
- Monitoring surveillance cameras and equipment
- Follow Federal and State long term care regulations and policies.
- Authorize entrance of people and vehicles
- Ensure the security, safety and well-being of all residents and staff
- Log all resident admissions and discharges properly
- Respond to alarms or codes, and react in a timely manner
- Check resident pass book to ensure residents are leaving the building at their designated times
- Check resident bags when entering the facility to ensure that no contraband enters the facility
- Submit reports of every suspicious action
- Protect and maintain confidential information
- Adhere to all company service and operating standards
- Perform other department duties or special assignments as directed by the Administrator or Department Manager
- Assist in resident cigarette pass as needed.
