About ORR : The Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR) is a program of the federal Administration for Children and Families (ACF) within the United States Department of Health and Human Services.

ORR programs provide short term home based transitional foster care and residential services for unaccompanied minors who immigrate to the United States without a parent or guardian.

Job Summary : The case manager will provide quality case management services and support to a caseload of eight unaccompanied children in Sheltering Arms’ in care.

Essential Functions

  • Meet all the mandates of the Office of Refugee Resettlement and OCFS for case management services to unaccompanied children in the care of Sheltering Arms
  • Interview children to assess their needs, immigration journey, health history and all required psychosocial information
  • Develop, Implement and Carry out preliminary services plans, individualized service plans and service plan reviews in the required timeframes
  • Locate, screen and assess children’s potential sponsors
  • Ensure children are released to sponsors within 30 days of intake
  • Maintain communication and coordination with each child’s sponsor and family about the child’s needs and well being
  • Complete progress notes and maintain case records according to ORR contractual obligation and OCFS standards.
  • Review cases regularly with the Lead Case Manager
  • Collaborate with foster parents, nurses and social workers to meet health and mental health needs
  • Coordinate planning with immigration, customs, legal representatives, homeland security and child advocates
  • Advocate for the children and agency in Immigration court
  • Attend required annual training and supplemental training to keep current with new developments and resources
  • Conduct home visits
  • Performs other duties as delegated

Qualifications :

  • BSW / BA in related field
  • Strong writing, relationship and organizational skills
  • Bilingual in Spanish or Haitian creole required
  • Must be able to work evenings and weekends

OFFICIAL TITLE : Social Media Intern for the Executive Office (Remote)

SUPERVISOR : Director, Marketing and Communications

SALARY RANGE : $500 stipend per month; academic credit available

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT : Must be able to work a minimum of 20 hours / week

Sheltering Arms is the longest-established and one of the largest nonprofit early learning providers in Georgia. With a staff of more than 450 employees and the operation of 13 early learning and family support centers, we provide high-quality early childhood education and care to some of the most vulnerable families in metropolitan Atlanta, serving a majority Black population, and support them with resources to help break the cycle of generational poverty.

SUMMARY :

If you are socially savvy and are interested in helping to tell our brand’s story through photos, video, graphics and creative content, this opportunity might be for you.

This remote internship will last two months, comes with a $500 per month stipend upon the completion of the program, and will offer valuable digital media and social media management experience in a professional virtual work environment.

We are looking for an energetic intern, full of ideas, who can provide assistance with day-to-day social media tasks and monitoring that support the executive office.

Bilingual Spanish Preferred . This intern will play an important role in helping to drive social experiences that contribute to increased awareness and engagement from potential donors, partners and families.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Perform social marketing to promote events and activities on social media platforms including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn and YouTube
  • Assist with developing and managing the social media content calendar
  • Respond to inquiries coming in from social media channels
  • Prepare social media monitoring reports
  • Assist with other marketing and communications tasks, as needed

LOCATION AND SCHEDULE :

Remote Assignment. Must be able to work a minimum of 20 hours per week. Specific schedule to be determined mutually by the Intern and Director of Marketing and Communications.

KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES AND SKILLS :

Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong computer proficiency, particularly in MS Office and Google programs.

Attention to detail and accuracy. Strong knowledge of social media platforms very helpful. Ability to work under fluid deadlines and complete tasks in a timely and efficient manner.

Bilingual Spanish Preferred.

EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE :

At least two years of college completed. Preferred - current college student pursuing a degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations or a related field.

Graphic design and photo / video editing skills a plus .

Confidentiality and discretion is a must. Must pass a criminal background check and drug screen. COVID-19 standards apply including but not limited to required face mask, social distancing, and check-in procedures for in office visitation.

Job Summary : Support and monitor residential programs : DDS; Youth Services; Foster Care and ARC residential programs. Shifts will primarily be after regular business hours with a focus on overnights, to insure compliance with programming guidelines and agency policy and procedure;

as detailed in program manuals and the Employee Handbook. Conduct ongoing monitoring of our residential programs through, facility visits, camera surveillance, phone calls, and documentation reviews.

Assist with agency investigations when deemed necessary. This position requires reliability, flexibility, the ability to work independently, as well as excellent judgement in determining an appropriate course of action.

This is an overnight position that requires working 4 weekdays and 1 weekend day

Schedule

  • Off on Monday's Second day off will vary
  • 10 : 00pm-6 : 00am 11 : 00pm-7 : 00am

Essential Functions

  • Support and monitor residential programs during all hours, but primarily during overnight, weekend and holiday hours staff through site visits, phone calls, and live camera review.
  • Report all findings which are deemed to be in violation of, SA Policy and Procedure, Program Mandates, Regulatory Guidelines;

or in any way places the clients at risk immediately.

  • Assist residential staff as needed during crisis events during overnight, weekend or holiday shifts, including traveling to the sites.
  • Communicate effectively and collaborate with residential program managers through email, phone, meetings, written reports etc.
  • Prepare and distribute regular reports of findings and recommendations.
  • Assist with agency investigations as needed.
  • Represent the agency at community and funder meetings.
  • Participate in agency committees.
  • Responsible for maintaining and ensuring compliance with client and agency confidentiality standards and ethical expectations.
  • Responsible for participating in staff development, including attendance in training as required and requested.
  • Will require a flexible schedule.
  • Support the implementation, principles and goals of the programs’ practice models.
  • Assess and report on pattern and trends from observations / incident reviews thought the programs.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a Human Services or Related Services field.
  • At least 2 years of experience in a residential setting
  • Management experience a plus
  • Ability to demonstrate effective written and verbal communication skills. Detail oriented, flexible, organized and an effective communicator
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Word and an ability to learn other computer programs / systems
  • Excellent interpersonal skills are required in order to interact effectively with employees, co-workers, Program leadership and other departments
  • Due to the sensitivity nature of the position, must be able to maintain the strictest confidentiality
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • NYS Drivers License (required) and a clean driving record whenever driving agency vehicles.
  • For this role, COVID-19 vaccination is a requirement of the job.

Salary : $48K-$50K / yr
