About This Role

The Business Systems Analyst (BSA) will be responsible for analyzing business requirements, designing, and implementing systems solutions, and providing support for end-users.

The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, well versed in working with a diverse group of stakeholders, have excellent verbal and written communications as well as problem-solving skills.

The role of a BSA is to bridge the gap between people, business requirements and technical solutions.

In addition to designing and implementing systems solutions, you will also be responsible for analyzing and documenting business processes to identify areas for improvement and recommend solutions.

This will involve working with stakeholders to understand their needs and identify opportunities for optimization. Overall, this role is responsible for ensuring that processes and system solutions are documented and meet the business needs of the organization.

Essential Functions :

  • Document existing business requirements for system and business process changes, and create stories for technical evaluation
  • Define project requirements and identify project milestones on new projects.
  • Improve systems by studying current practices, designing modifications
  • Construct workflow charts and diagrams; studying system capabilities; writing specifications
  • Recommend controls by identifying problems, writing improved procedures
  • Monitor project progress by tracking activity, resolving problems, and recommending changes.
  • Maintain user confidence and protect operations by keeping information confidential.
  • Understand and communicate the financial and operational impact of any changes
  • Other tasks and duties as assigned

Requirements :

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, information science, business analysis, or related field. Equivalent work experience may substitute for degree requirement.
  • 3 years of experience doing progressively more complex business analysis activities such as defining scope, documenting requirements, defining business processes, etc.

  • Experience working in non-profit, mission-drive, and / or members organizations.
  • Familiarity with SQL, database management, and reporting tools.
  • Project management experience with a demonstrated ability to lead others in the completion of a goal.
  • Demonstrated experience in using process visualization tools to analyze process performance and improvement needs.
  • Working knowledge of software development processes and understanding of current software development practices, or understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and agile methodologies

Compensation :

This position is full time, exempt. Salary and benefits set by collectively bargained contract; pay ranges from $75,458 84,978 per year.
