Why the name SANTA DIABLA ?
The name SANTA DIABLA was first born from the idea of creating a restaurant that would be playful and mischievous, just like a devil, a DIABLA.
It is a restaurant that has the openness, the attitude and the fun of the Mexican culture and at the same time it has the seriousness of an experienced restauranteur group with almost 30 years in the industry, this last part stands for the word SANTA.
If we would have to personify SANTA DIABLA it would be a young but experienced entrepreneur. Who is fun, outgoing, open minded and of course Mexican but living in Texas.
Santa Diabla is eager learn from the local culture and is open to socialize and share the wealth and folklore this new concept brings at heart.
Our cooks (line, prep, etc) are responsible for creating that unforgettable guest experience through the proper preparation of the best tasting recipes around!
You are responsible for top notch cleanliness and sanitation standards at all times. You will be a member of a cohesive team that supports each other’s success in a fast-paced environment.
Cooks are required to execute menu items and recipes set by the executive chef. They are responsible for operating the mechanics of the assigned station in accordance with the standards and expectations of Santa Diabla.
Full time and part time.
Qualifications
- Ability to obtain food handler certification.
- Verbal and written communication skills, and positive work ethic.
- Basic understanding of or ability to learn basic sanitation and regulations for workplace safety.
- Basic understanding of or ability to learn food-handling techniques, preparation, and cooking procedures.
- Ability to work efficiently and quickly.
- Must be able to work well as part of a team.
- Must be able to work well under pressure.
- Ability to maintain personal cleanliness.
- Willingness to take direction from management and represent the company appropriately.
- Successful completion of on-the-job training.
- Prolonged periods standing and working of 8 hours or more.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
- Ability to perform repetitive movements over long periods of time.
Responsibilities
- Prepares and cooks a variety of menu items.
- Maintain clean, safe work environment and food safety at all times in accordance with the company’s guidelines as well as the requirements of the local health department.
- Read and produce standardized recipes as instructed.
- Prepare and serve food to recipe specifications in a timely manner with high level of productivity.
- Cook food to proper temperatures and maintain proper food temperatures during holding, transport, re-heating and serving to assure quality control and food safety.
- Operate various mixers, steamers, steam kettles, ovens and other electrical and / or mechanical equipment in accordance with safety regulations and established policies.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks while maintaining focus on quality.
- Adhere to all cleaning and production schedules and perform tasks as assigned.
- All positions require willingness to perform tasks outside of normal responsibilities as needed.
- Serve food on serving lines during mealtimes.
- Clean kitchen equipment, pots, pans, counters, and tables.
- Sweep and mop floors.
- Clean and straighten work area.
- May be assigned other tasks to Support Meal Production, Service, and Breakdown or over all Cleanliness of the Cafeteria.
- Able to work as part of a team in a busy kitchen atmosphere.
