Position Purpose :

  • Responsible for patient food service on assigned units, menu selections, tray assembly, tray delivery and pick up, special requests and needs, in- between meal food delivery.
  • Exhibits a friendly, caring attitude to patients when introducing the Catering to You program, taking menu selections, delivering trays, inquiring during catering rounds and retrieving trays.

Essential Functions :

  • Takes patients menu selections prior to each meal.
  • Complies with food and nutrition restrictions on special, modified diets to ensure optimal food preferences are met within guidelines of diet order limitations. (Throughout Shift)
  • Offers alternatives to menu as allowed on prescribed diet in accordance with food allergies and sensitivities, cultural, ethnic and religious preferences, when patient inquires or needs additional selections. (Throughout Shift)
  • Assembles trays according to patients menu on tray tickets in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Interacts with nursing to ensure patients’ diet prescriptions are accurate, and patients’ food needs are met.
  • Completes catering rounds after passing trays to inquire if patient needs anything else.
  • Retrieves trays from patients’ rooms shortly after completing round.
  • Maintains accurate and current information for each patient on assigned unit(s).
  • Assists dietitian with monitoring of patients who are NPO, on liquid diets or have a calorie count ordered.
  • Communicates any patient related problems / concerns to appropriate personnel, in a timely manner following departmental procedures.

General Job requirements :

  • High School Diploma / GED
  • 3 months of food service experience
  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions
  • Able to work harmoniously with peers, supervisors, and other departments, visitors and patients
  • Previous experience in dietary or food services preferred
  • Ability to read and write English
  • Sanitation certification preferred

Healthcare Recruiter

Position Purpose : Responsible for interviewing, testing, referring applicants and making hiring decisions for clinical positions part of the Pediatric and Adolescent Transformative Healthcare (PATH) Initiative, including a Pediatric Psychiatrist, Pediatric Psychiatric Nurse Practitioners, LCSW / LPC Therapists, and a Child Psychologist.

PATH is a 12-member collaborative led by Saint Anthony and will provide an innovative structure for a Behavioral Health Home (BHH) serving children, adolescents, and families on the west and southwest sides of Chicago.

This is a 9-month contract position.

Essential Functions :

  • Develops a pool of potential candidates through sourcing, advertising, recruitment fairs and other creative means. Recruits qualified candidates through resume screening, interviewing, background checks and collaboration with hiring managers.
  • With approval from Compensation, negotiates starting wages with candidates assuring that offer is within compensation guidelines.
  • Facilitates new hire orientation every month.
  • Monitors and maintains recruitment advertising budget assuring that expenditures remain within budgetary constraints.
  • Complies with all legal and regulatory requirements for the recruitment process and communicates to appropriate parties when potential compliance issues are identified.
  • Participates in the implementation of employee programs and events that are sponsored by the Human Resources Department.
  • Serves as a resource to managers and associates with regard to Human Resources policy and procedures.
