OTR Refrigerator Driver

Job Overview : Our Iowa client is seeking to add a new OTR Refrigerator Driver to their team. As an OTR Refrigerator Driver, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and timely transportation of our perishable goods across various locations.

This is a direct hire / W-2 position.

  • What you will be doing as an OTR Refrigerator Driver…
  • Operate a refrigerated truck to transport goods to designated locations across the country.
  • Safely load, secure, and unload cargo, ensuring proper handling and care to maintain product quality.
  • Maintain the temperature integrity of the refrigerated unit throughout transportation, monitoring and adjusting settings as needed.
  • Adhere to all traffic laws, road regulations, and safety protocols to ensure accident-free driving.
  • Communicate effectively with the logistics team to coordinate pickups, deliveries, and any changes or delays in the schedule.
  • Conduct routine inspections of the vehicle, including pre-trip and post-trip inspections, reporting any maintenance or mechanical issues to the appropriate authorities.
  • Plan and execute efficient routes to meet delivery schedules, considering factors such as traffic, weather conditions, and customer requirements.
  • Skills you ideally bring to the table as a OTR Refrigerator Driver…
  • Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) with appropriate endorsements (e.g., Class A) and a clean driving record.
  • Proven experience as an OTR truck driver, preferably with experience in refrigerated transportation.
  • Strong knowledge of DOT regulations, traffic laws, and safety standards pertaining to commercial driving.
  • Familiarity with refrigerated truck operations, including temperature control and monitoring systems.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining product quality and safety.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact with customers, colleagues, and stakeholders.

SUMMARY : The Senior Manufacturing Engineer will lead cross-functional teams to execute large strategic injection molding product development and process programs aligned with Operations Leadership priorities.

Specifically, this role will tackle injection molding capacity and capability improvements, injection molding cost out initiatives, injection molding related improvements to quality, improvements to injection molding related processes, and injection molding related capital investment projects.

The Senior Manufacturing Engineer is based out of our production facility located in Kalona, until early 2025 when we will be relocating to a new facility in Coralville.

QUALIFICATIONS :

  • Experience with ISO 13485 & 9001, FDA, European, and MHLW requirements, including but not limited to process validation
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 5+ years in technical injection molding experience
  • Project management experience (PMP preferred but not required) and / or Lean Six Sigma Certification

145;Hands on’ track record applying injection molding fundamentals such as : plastic material processing guidelines, mold design and fabrication, mold processing and optimization, plastic part design best practices, tooling routine and preventative maintenance, injection molding press operation and optimization

  • Demonstrated interpersonal, organizational and time management skills
  • History of success leading, prioritizing, and implementing multiple projects simultaneously
  • Familiarity with manufacturing processes such as packaging, warehouse, machining, and medium to small size product assembly
  • Experience working with remote sites, employees, and customers
  • Experience with low-volume and high-volume injection molding, including working with injection molding machines and / or cobots.
  • Knowledge of the injection molding process and the ability to troubleshoot plastic defects
  • History of providing engineering support in the design, documentation, and implementation of manufacturing processes for operating facilities as required to improve process capability, reliability, consistency, and throughput
  • Experience with business processes including stage gated development processes, order entry, ERP systems, change management systems
  • Experience with ISO 13485 & 9001, FDA, European, and MHLW requirements, including but not limited to process validation
  • Experience with Windchill, Creo Parametric, Solidworks, AutoCAD, and moldflow simulation softwares

RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Help to identify and / or shepherd new injection molding continuous improvement opportunities to boost profitability
  • Provide injection molding technical leadership, employing the full injection molding technical toolbox to promote injection molding industry standard methodologies and develop problem solving capabilities across the businesses injection molding functions
  • Collaborate with key business partners to lead projects by deploying structured problem solving to improve injection molding processes and eliminate waste
  • Motivate and drive cross-functional team performance toward achieving the common goal of completing projects according to the defined objectives, on budget and on time
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to tool designers, process technicians, operators and other molding personnel
