Driver Transportation at Regency Retirement Birmingham

Part-Time and when needed could be full to cover transportation needs

Regency Senior Living is a Non-Mandate Company

QUALIFICATIONS :

  • Must have a current Alabama driver’s license
  • Must have a clean driving record
  • Must have a recent Alabama Commercial Driver’s (CDL) license

RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Must be responsible for keeping current licenses for both driving and CDL license and ensuring that a current copy of their license is on file with the business manager before the expiration
  • The transporter is responsible to ensure that all preventative maintenance is kept up on all vehicles routinely
  • Transported is responsible that all inspections required on vehicles are kept up to date
  • Transported shall ensure that all vehicles are kept clean inside and outside of the vehicle
  • The transporter shall ensure that first aid kits are in all vehicles and that current resident rosters are included with phone numbers.
  • Transported shall not allow any other persons to drive vehicles for any reason without prior approval from Executive Director.

Anyone who is approved to drive a company vehicle shall ensure that the current license is on file along with the current clear driving record.

  • Transporter shall not carry any persons in company vehicles other than residents and staff members without prior approval from Executive Director.
  • Transporter shall ensure that Physician Appointments, Medical Appointments, or any other Health care requirements take precedence over any shopping trips, eateries, errands, or events.
  • Transporter shall in no way be a part of any financial transactions including using residents' cash or cards to purchase items for residents without prior approval from the Executive Director
  • Transporter shall follow all policies and procedures concerning accepting gifts, monies, or other types of gratuity including the purchase of meals.
  • The transporter is responsible for ensuring that all errands, appointments, and other such events are recorded in the transportation book with the resident’s name, location, contact, and phone number before leaving the community.
  • The transporter is responsible to ensure the resident gets to appointments and picked up from appointments and returned to the community before leaving work for the day.
  • Transporter shall ensure that all residents have correct devices such as walkers, wheelchairs, glasses, and proper shoes before going on appointments and that wheelchairs have the swing leg rest attached to a wheelchair and kept on the wheelchair during outings to prevent falls.
