POSITION SUMMARY

Radiology Partners is seeking a Medical Assistant who will perform a full range of clinical, secretarial, and administrative duties.

The Medical assistant is accountable for reviewing past medical history, surgical history, social history, medications, taking vital signs, and preparing the client to see the physician or PA for their procedure.

The Medical Assistant will perform departmental support functions such as operating a multi-telephone line system, entering data into information systems, or other duties similar in nature.

POSITION DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Prepare clients for their practitioner visit or procedure by reviewing medical, surgical, and social history, reviewing medications, and taking vital signs
  • Answer questions the patient may have about the procedure, pre-operatively or post-operatively
  • Answer inbound telephone calls
  • Keep treatment rooms stocked with all necessary supplies
  • Proficient in setting up for all procedures
  • Assisting Medical Records in the completion of studies
  • Coordinate with front Surgical Coordinators on scheduled procedures for surgeons
  • Monitor Exceptions for missing studies through worklist. Contact IT support to correct issues with studies that are locked or missing
  • Communicate to surgeon of any missing reports and / or any outstanding studies that need dictation or addendums
  • Sterilize instruments and perform weekly autoclave maintenance while documenting date in log
  • Assists in surgical procedures
  • Serves and protects the physician and health care providers by adhering to professional standards, policies and procedures, federal, state, and local requirements and Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations
  • Work closely with the doctors to manage office efficiency, flow and quality of customer care
  • Maintain continuity of communications with rotating physicians and physician assistants
  • Other duties, as needed

DESIRED PROFESSIONAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • High School Diploma preferred
  • Medical Assistant Certification preferred
  • BLS certification
  • Experience working in a wound or vascular clinic very helpful.
  • Bi-lingual (English / Spanish) required.
  • Ability to learn and retain information regarding medical care and procedures
  • Knowledge of health care field
  • Experience in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint software
  • Ability to prioritize and multitask
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Practices sterile techniques and prevents cross-contamination to patients and staff

Physician Assistant

Position Summary

Radiology Partners is seeking a full-time, procedural Radiology NP / PA to join and support our practice at Ascension St.

Vincent Medical Group. The NP / PA will facilitate excellent patient care in the Department of Radiology by performing the expected duties of a NP / PA, to include light interventional radiology procedures, fluoroscopy procedures, and consults / patient management, in coordination with the radiology physicians.

Experience is preferred, but for the right candidate we would train in the following procedural areas : Venous Vascular Access;

Venous Catheter Procedures; PICC lines; Para’s; Thora’s; tunneled and non-tunneled central lines; lumbar punctures; image guided biopsy and drainages, Myelograms and Arthrograms.

Diagnostic fluoroscopy procedures may also become part of the daily responsibilities.Experience in pediatric radiology procedures would be helpful but not required.

DESIRED PROFESSIONAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Candidates must be a graduate of an accredited NP / PA program
  • Current NP / PA license and certificate of authority to practice as a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner in the State of Indiana required
  • Board certified by The National Commission of Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA), The American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) or the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC)
  • BLS AND ACLS certification required
  • Comfortable performing procedures (on-the-job procedural training will be given)
  • Training / experience in pediatric radiology procedures would be helpful but not essential

Interventional Radiology Physician Assistant

Position Summary

  • Perform procedures such as paracentesis, thoracentesis, venous access, biopsies and lumbar punctures. Prior experience in performing these procedures is a plus but not required
  • Assist in direct patient care services, including inpatient and outpatient consults, and follow up
  • Assist in outpatient Interventional Radiology clinic and all duties necessary to support the clinic
  • Perform physical examinations, determine medical histories, diagnose and treat illnesses and / or injuries
  • Assist in facilitating patients for procedures including pre-authorizations, working with facilities to coordinate procedures as needed, processing orders, sending reports back to referring doctors
  • Perform or assist in fluoroscopic studies
