POSITION SUMMARY / ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

The Utility Hotel maintains the cleanliness and orderliness of all public, crew and surrounding areas.

  • Carries out the following assignments :
  • Shampoos and vacuums carpets and furniture as needed.
  • Cleans, strips, waxes all hard floors as required.
  • Washes windows, walls and ceilings as needed.
  • Empties liter bins and ash urns constantly and keeps areas clean at all times.
  • Services restrooms and maintains cleanliness and orderliness.
  • Polishes brass, handrails and fixtures as needed.
  • Dusts assigned work areas daily.
  • Cleans glass doors daily.
  • Responsible to keep all guest public areas clean and vacuumed as well as all staircases, hallways, elevators.
  • Cleans and maintains : Spa, Fitness Center.
  • Responsible for all crew public areas, including crew messes, crew bar, crew laundry, crew relaxation areas, corridors, staircases and landings.
  • Fogs, sanitizes, (using bio-globes machine) AGE rooms, smoking rooms, casino, cigar bars, and areas which have an odor, on a regular basis.
  • Offers all possible assistance to guests.
  • Familiar with the use of cleaning equipment and maintains the cleaning equipment in good working order.
  • Keeps chemical and cleaning lockers clean and orderly.
  • Reports any loss or damage of linen, furniture, fixtures or equipment.
  • Assists with cocktail parties, stateroom deliveries, and other work related duties in the Housekeeping Department assigned by the Supervisor.
  • Provides guest requests in the absence of the room steward / ess. This includes make up and turn down service.
  • Responsible for the collection and deliveries of guest luggage to / from respective decks.
  • Provides assistance to stateroom stewards during turn around day by stripping bed and pillows, removing linen, towels, chinaware, glassware, and garbage from the rooms.

Additionally, collecting and removing the bags of soiled linens and towels. Sanitizes the ice bucket, lid, coffee carafe, and coffee filter basket for assigned stateroom sections.

Vacuums staterooms and guest corridors.

  • Assists on Turnaround Day with wheelchair assistance when necessary.
  • Attends daily briefings before and after the shift.
  • Secures lockers and signs-in and out on time sheets.
  • Assumes other duties assigned by the Head Cleaner and Head Steward.
  • Maintains the standards recommended by USPH, SEMS, Waypoint and NCL Hotel Operations.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned or as directed. The omission of specific duties does not preclude the supervisor from assigning duties that are logically related to the position.
  • Must be familiar with the Safety and Environmental Protection Policy and the SEMS, and carry out the policies and procedures appropriate for his / her position.

QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum of six months experience performing hotel-related duties is preferred.
  • Advanced level of English verbal and writing skills is required.

EDUCATION

High School Diploma or GED or foreign equivalent is required.

The U.S. Coast Guard (USCG) requires all crew members employed with NCL America aboard the Pride of America to hold a Merchant Mariner Credential (MMC).

In order to qualify for a MMC, applicants must demonstrate specific physical abilities necessary to perform shipboard duties per USCG guidelines (COMPDTPUB 16700.

4 NVIC 04-8). Shall have a Body Mass Index (BMI) of 40.0 or less. Blood Pressure as per USCG a maximum 160 / 100.

POSITION SUMMARY / ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

The Pastry ensures a successful link between the Chief Pastry and the pastry shop. His / her primary role includes a professional, hands-on approach, which involves : leading, training, and demonstrating exemplary culinary skills and knowledge.

He / she is directly responsible for all culinary aspects in the kitchen including inventories, set-up, preparation, food quality, breakdown, and sanitation.

The Pastry is accountable for ensuring all NCL policies, procedures, and recipes are followed consistently. He / she is responsible for documenting and communicating with the Chief Pastry and / or the Executive Chef’s personal assistant in regards to variances, exceptions, and maintenance issues.

  • Continually trains, coaches, and recognizes team members to improve food quality and meet budget expectations while motivating team members
  • Responsible for mise-en-place, and food service for production area
  • Consistently checks food handling and storage procedures while training team members to do the same
  • Assists Chief Pastry in documenting and maintaining a waste log to improve forecasting and production models
  • Assists Chief Pastry in adjusting daily requisitions to reflect trends and forecasts
  • Actively participates in daily focus meetings with team members to ensure communication and daily expectations
  • Maintain USPH / FDA standards for outlet
  • Inventory and ordering of all food items
  • Assists Chief Pastry in adhering to budget constraints in regards, to labor, product, and equipment
  • Assists Chief Pastry by completing and delivering of all reports, documents, and other items requested by supervisor to the chef’s office / personal assistant.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned or as directed. The omission of specific duties does not preclude the supervisor from assigning duties that are logically related to the position.
  • Must be familiar with the Safety and Environmental Protection Policy and the SEMS, and carry out the policies and procedures appropriate for his / her position.

QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS

  • Intermediate to Advanced knowledge of all pastry competencies is required.
  • Advanced knowledge of principles and formulas concerning starches, fats, sugars, liquids, eggs, and flavorings are required.
  • Minimum of two years of experience in preparing and training others in fruit coulis preparation is required.
  • Minimum of two years of experience in preparing and training others in show-pieces is required.
  • Minimum of one year of experience on cruise ship or high volume hotel / restaurant is required.
  • Minimum of one year of experience in a pastry supervisory position is required.
  • Minimum of two years of culinary experience is required. Some formal culinary training from a recognized educational institution may substitute for this experience requirement at an equivalent rate.

POSITION SUMMARY / ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

The Utility Hotel maintains the cleanliness and orderliness of all public, crew and surrounding areas.

  • Carries out the following assignments :
  • Shampoos and vacuums carpets and furniture as needed.
  • Cleans, strips, waxes all hard floors as required.
  • Washes windows, walls and ceilings as needed.
  • Empties liter bins and ash urns constantly and keeps areas clean at all times.
  • Services restrooms and maintains cleanliness and orderliness.
  • Polishes brass, handrails and fixtures as needed.
  • Dusts assigned work areas daily.
  • Cleans glass doors daily.
  • Responsible to keep all guest public areas clean and vacuumed as well as all staircases, hallways, elevators.
  • Cleans and maintains : Spa, Fitness Center.
  • Responsible for all crew public areas, including crew messes, crew bar, crew laundry, crew relaxation areas, corridors, staircases and landings.
  • Fogs, sanitizes, (using bio-globes machine) AGE rooms, smoking rooms, casino, cigar bars, and areas which have an odor, on a regular basis.
  • Offers all possible assistance to guests.
  • Familiar with the use of cleaning equipment and maintains the cleaning equipment in good working order.
  • Keeps chemical and cleaning lockers clean and orderly.
  • Reports any loss or damage of linen, furniture, fixtures or equipment.
  • Assists with cocktail parties, stateroom deliveries, and other work related duties in the Housekeeping Department assigned by the Supervisor.
  • Provides guest requests in the absence of the room steward / ess. This includes make up and turn down service.
  • Responsible for the collection and deliveries of guest luggage to / from respective decks.
  • Provides assistance to stateroom stewards during turn around day by stripping bed and pillows, removing linen, towels, chinaware, glassware, and garbage from the rooms.

Additionally, collecting and removing the bags of soiled linens and towels. Sanitizes the ice bucket, lid, coffee carafe, and coffee filter basket for assigned stateroom sections.

Vacuums staterooms and guest corridors.

  • Assists on Turnaround Day with wheelchair assistance when necessary.
  • Attends daily briefings before and after the shift.
  • Secures lockers and signs-in and out on time sheets.
  • Assumes other duties assigned by the Head Cleaner and Head Steward.
  • Maintains the standards recommended by USPH, SEMS, Waypoint and NCL Hotel Operations.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned or as directed. The omission of specific duties does not preclude the supervisor from assigning duties that are logically related to the position.
  • Must be familiar with the Safety and Environmental Protection Policy and the SEMS, and carry out the policies and procedures appropriate for his / her position.

QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum of six months experience performing hotel-related duties is preferred.
  • Advanced level of English verbal and writing skills is required.

EDUCATION

High School Diploma or GED or foreign equivalent is required.

The Utility Hotel maintains the cleanliness and orderliness of all public, crew and surrounding areas.

  • Carries out the following assignments :
  • Shampoos and vacuums carpets and furniture as needed.
  • Cleans, strips, waxes all hard floors as required.
  • Washes windows, walls and ceilings as needed.
  • Empties liter bins and ash urns constantly and keeps areas clean at all times.
  • Services restrooms and maintains cleanliness and orderliness.
  • Polishes brass, handrails and fixtures as needed.
  • Dusts assigned work areas daily.
  • Cleans glass doors daily.
  • Responsible to keep all guest public areas clean and vacuumed as well as all staircases, hallways, elevators.
  • Cleans and maintains : Spa, Fitness Center.
  • Responsible for all crew public areas, including crew messes, crew bar, crew laundry, crew relaxation areas, corridors, staircases and landings.
  • Fogs, sanitizes, (using bio-globes machine) AGE rooms, smoking rooms, casino, cigar bars, and areas which have an odor, on a regular basis.
  • Offers all possible assistance to guests.
  • Familiar with the use of cleaning equipment and maintains the cleaning equipment in good working order.
  • Keeps chemical and cleaning lockers clean and orderly.
  • Reports any loss or damage of linen, furniture, fixtures or equipment.
  • Assists with cocktail parties, stateroom deliveries, and other work related duties in the Housekeeping Department assigned by the Supervisor.
  • Provides guest requests in the absence of the room steward / ess. This includes make up and turn down service.
  • Responsible for the collection and deliveries of guest luggage to / from respective decks.
  • Provides assistance to stateroom stewards during turn around day by stripping bed and pillows, removing linen, towels, chinaware, glassware, and garbage from the rooms.

Additionally, collecting and removing the bags of soiled linens and towels. Sanitizes the ice bucket, lid, coffee carafe, and coffee filter basket for assigned stateroom sections.

Vacuums staterooms and guest corridors.

  • Assists on Turnaround Day with wheelchair assistance when necessary.
  • Attends daily briefings before and after the shift.
  • Secures lockers and signs-in and out on time sheets.
  • Assumes other duties assigned by the Head Cleaner and Head Steward.
  • Maintains the standards recommended by USPH, SEMS, Waypoint and NCL Hotel Operations.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned or as directed. The omission of specific duties does not preclude the supervisor from assigning duties that are logically related to the position.
  • Must be familiar with the Safety and Environmental Protection Policy and the SEMS, and carry out the policies and procedures appropriate for his / her position.

QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum of six months experience performing hotel-related duties is preferred.
  • Advanced level of English verbal and writing skills is required.

The Bar Waiter is responsible for beverage service and sales in the workstation that is assigned to him / her in the public bar or lounge.

  • Responsible for promoting and maximizing beverage sales in the assigned workplace, while following & ensuring that all company beverage service standards are being adhered to.
  • Ensures that company policy in regards to drinking age is followed, & practices responsible service of alcoholic beverages.
  • Helps maintain the bar & pantry areas at all times in accordance with USPH / FDA and SEMS rules and regulations, including following guidelines relating to the correct use & maintenance of all bar equipment.
  • Strives to always up-sell to better quality premium & super-premium products, & is able to recommend & suggest beverages when guests ask for assistance in selecting them.
  • Effectively communicates any problem, challenges, complaints or service difficulties in a timely manner to the Bartender on duty or immediate supervisor.

  • Intermediate to Advanced Typing and Computer software Skills : Microsoft Word & Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, IBM AS400, Fidelio, Micros.

POSITION SUMMARY / ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

The Assistant Waiter is to report directly to the Assistant Restaurant Manager. The Assistant Waiter assists a waiter with the service for food and beverage of an assigned station / team in the restaurants.

This position will rotate throughout the Buffet and Room Service as assigned by management. The Assistant Waiter will also ensure that guests are consistently provided with courteous, prompt and efficient service according to company standards.

  • Assist with achieving departmental guest satisfaction targets and food and beverage revenues by following established service strategies and optimizing up-sell opportunities.

  • Ensures that assigned station is properly cleaned and set-up at the end of the meal period and that all assigned side-work is complete.
  • Performs other jobs as assigned, to include but not limited to manning non-cooking buffet action stations (i.e. carving station, dessert station).
  • Deliver food and beverage orders to guest’s staterooms as per company procedure.

  • Assists with private parties and functions.

QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS

Minimum of two years’ experience as a front waiter with fine dining and banquet service experience in any of the following settings : 3 Star 4 Star land-based hotel / resort;

free-standing restaurant with at least 180 seats; or previous shipboard experience in a similar position is required.

  • Minimum of two years’ experience selling and serving wine and other beverage products is required.
  • Intermediate to Advanced level English verbal and writing skills, including the proper use of English grammar is required.

POSITION SUMMARY / ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

The Pastry ensures a successful link between the Chief Pastry and the pastry shop. His / her primary role includes a professional, hands-on approach, which involves : leading, training, and demonstrating exemplary culinary skills and knowledge.

He / she is directly responsible for all culinary aspects in the kitchen including inventories, set-up, preparation, food quality, breakdown, and sanitation.

The Pastry is accountable for ensuring all NCL policies, procedures, and recipes are followed consistently. He / she is responsible for documenting and communicating with the Chief Pastry and / or the Executive Chef’s personal assistant in regards to variances, exceptions, and maintenance issues.

POSITION SUMMARY / ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

The Utility Hotel maintains the cleanliness and orderliness of all public, crew and surrounding areas.

  • Carries out the following assignments :
  • Shampoos and vacuums carpets and furniture as needed.
  • Cleans, strips, waxes all hard floors as required.
  • Washes windows, walls and ceilings as needed.
  • Empties liter bins and ash urns constantly and keeps areas clean at all times.
  • Services restrooms and maintains cleanliness and orderliness.
  • Polishes brass, handrails and fixtures as needed.
  • Dusts assigned work areas daily.
  • Cleans glass doors daily.
  • Responsible to keep all guest public areas clean and vacuumed as well as all staircases, hallways, elevators.
  • Cleans and maintains : Spa, Fitness Center.
  • Responsible for all crew public areas, including crew messes, crew bar, crew laundry, crew relaxation areas, corridors, staircases and landings.
  • Fogs, sanitizes, (using bio-globes machine) AGE rooms, smoking rooms, casino, cigar bars, and areas which have an odor, on a regular basis.
  • Offers all possible assistance to guests.
  • Familiar with the use of cleaning equipment and maintains the cleaning equipment in good working order.
  • Keeps chemical and cleaning lockers clean and orderly.
  • Reports any loss or damage of linen, furniture, fixtures or equipment.
  • Assists with cocktail parties, stateroom deliveries, and other work related duties in the Housekeeping Department assigned by the Supervisor.
  • Provides guest requests in the absence of the room steward / ess. This includes make up and turn down service.
  • Responsible for the collection and deliveries of guest luggage to / from respective decks.
  • Provides assistance to stateroom stewards during turn around day by stripping bed and pillows, removing linen, towels, chinaware, glassware, and garbage from the rooms.

Additionally, collecting and removing the bags of soiled linens and towels. Sanitizes the ice bucket, lid, coffee carafe, and coffee filter basket for assigned stateroom sections.

Vacuums staterooms and guest corridors.

  • Assists on Turnaround Day with wheelchair assistance when necessary.
  • Attends daily briefings before and after the shift.
  • Secures lockers and signs-in and out on time sheets.
  • Assumes other duties assigned by the Head Cleaner and Head Steward.
  • Maintains the standards recommended by USPH, SEMS, Waypoint and NCL Hotel Operations.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned or as directed. The omission of specific duties does not preclude the supervisor from assigning duties that are logically related to the position.
  • Must be familiar with the Safety and Environmental Protection Policy and the SEMS, and carry out the policies and procedures appropriate for his / her position.

QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum of six months experience performing hotel-related duties is preferred.
  • Advanced level of English verbal and writing skills is required.

EDUCATION

High School Diploma or GED or foreign equivalent is required.

The U.S. Coast Guard (USCG) requires all crew members employed with NCL America aboard the Pride of America to hold a Merchant Mariner Credential (MMC).

In order to qualify for a MMC, applicants must demonstrate specific physical abilities necessary to perform shipboard duties per USCG guidelines (COMPDTPUB 16700.

4 NVIC 04-8). Shall have a Body Mass Index (BMI) of 40.0 or less. Blood Pressure as per USCG a maximum 160 / 100.
