Summary
Responsible for complying with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations, as well as company rules, in accordance with the accepted principals of the safe operations of commercial motor vehicle cargo tank while safely transporting hazardous material to and from locations.

- Ability to work and pre-trip in all weather conditions, willing to work long hours including day and night shifts (subject to change)

Minimum Requirements
- Valid Class A or B commercial driver's license required
- Tanker and Hazmat Required
- 1 year of driving experience (minimum within a Class B CMV) within the last 3 years
- Review of current of a 1 and / or 2 year medical card and physical long forms. Willing to accept a documents administered within the last 6 months from date of apply.
- Ability to pass DOT / FMCSA pre-employment screenings included by not limited to drug test(s), Motor Vehicle Report (MVR), Criminal Background, Inspection Report (PSP), FMCSA Clearinghouse, and CMV road test.

- Ability to drive truck off road, on roads that are narrow and have steep inclines.

- Per the FMCSA, drivers of commercial motor vehicles (CMVs) operating in interstate commerce are required to be able to read and speak the English language sufficiently to converse with the general public, understand highway traffic signs and signals, respond to official inquiries, and make entries on reports and records.
Education

Working Conditions
- Walk, bend, reach, push, pull, stoop, squat, and climb, as required, in order to perform required vehicle inspections.
- Frequently climb in and out of a large truck.
- Extended schedule may be required as dictated by management and business needs.
- May be required to lift, push, or pull materials weighing up to one hundred (100) pounds.
- May be required to be exposed to extreme weather conditions (snow, ice, heat, winds).
- Remote locations.
- Occasionally climb ladders to inspect inside the cargo tank following loading or unloading.
- Sit for extended periods of time in a truck and be able to drive, for as many as 11 hours while transporting lubricant and other industry products.
- Maneuver 55-gallon drums; Lift and carry boxes.
Marine Dispatcher (PTL Marine/Maxum Petroleum) - Seattle, WA
Summary :
Schedule and coordinate flow of work based on customer orders, establish priorities and availability of personnel, equipment, and resources.
Select and schedule marine personnel for tugs and barges. Maintain records, process paperwork to ensure proper billing for services to customers.
Maintain communications with vessel Captains and barge PICs regarding change of orders via radio, computer or cell communications.
Assist in developing and monitor procedures and programs to track company and crew activities. Dispatch personnel in response to incidents and emergency requests from the fuel pier and vessels.
Essential Responsibilities :
- Ensure Regulatory work-hours are maintained by vessel personnel.
- Ensure accuracy of prepared schedules and sales orders.
- Promote employee feedback on scheduling courtesy and communications.
- Adherence to and understanding of MAXUM Petroleum’s operating policies and procedures.
- Perform related administrative duties as assigned.
- Participate in MAXUM on-call Duty Program
- Participate in MAXUM Petroleum’s Incident Command System as assigned.
- Promote incident and spill free operations.
- Promote customer satisfaction.
- Equal distribution of work among marine personnel.
Other Functions :
- Performs other general operations and administrative duties as directed.
- Other general maintenance as directed.
Minimum Requirements and Qualifications :
- Extensive knowledge of the local operating area.
- Four (4) year college education in Maritime or related studies; or equivalent experience.
- Three (3) years at sea on tugboats, tankers, or oil barges or equivalent military experience preferred.
- Three (3) years of increasingly responsible management in maritime industry.
- Knowledge of the marine bunkering industry.
- USCG license and PIC endorsement on Merchant Mariner Document preferred.
- Working knowledge of Sage, Microsoft Word and Excel applications.
- Maintain the confidentiality of all sensitive materials and communications.
- Ability to work independently with minimal or no guidance.
- Must be capable of calculating barge load and discharge plans or learn within the first month
- Ability to understand and execute complex oral and written instructions.
- Ability to interface with others using courtesy, tact, and good judgment.
- HAZWOPER training preferred.
- Valid First Aid / CPR / AED training.
- Valid Driver’s License.
- Must be able to read, speak, write, type, and understand English in person and over telephone.
- Must be 18 years of age and eligible to work in the United States.
