Summary Peachtree Orthopedics is seeking a Clinical Assistant that will assist in the examination and treatment of patients under the direction of a physician.
Duties include casting, splinting, and assisting with in-office procedures in a fast-paced environment. Location : Metro Atlanta Schedule : Monday Friday;
8 : 00am 5 : 00pm Job Type : Full Time Essential Duties & Responsibilities Interviews patients to determine medical problems / conditions and documents in e-chart.
Obtains and records the patient’s vital signs and weight. Assists physician's orders, lab requests, or follow-up needs with patients.
Collects samples, such as urine and blood from patients for testing and performs routine laboratory tests on samples. Schedules diagnostic studies / surgery and orders x-rays.
Prepares and assist with injections, aspirations, application and removal of casts, splints and braces; performs dressing changes and removes sutures / staples.
Monitors biohazardous waste and prepares for disposal. Obtains x-ray and imaging results and store in ECHOES; imports outside discs into ECHOES.
Serves as liaison between patient and physician. Provides staff coverage for other clinical personnel. Completes applications for Handicap parking permits, FMLA, Disability forms, and Work excuses.
Schedules all OR cases and maintain surgery schedule. Responsible for all patient phone calls, insuring proper documentation in Athena of action taken / advice given.

Education and Experience High school diploma or GED required. One to three years of related experience in the medical field.
Orthopedic experience preferred. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), Registered Medical Assistant (RMA), Registered Orthopaedic Technologist (ROT), Orthopaedic Technologist Certified (OTC), Athletic Trainer Certified (ATC), or Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license required.
Current CPR certification preferred. BLS Certified preferred. Physical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
