Our restaurant portfolio in PDX includes Good Coffee, Juliett by Chef Table, Corner Market by Lardo, Deschutes Brewery and Hopworks Urban Brewery.
Here are a few things you can expect as a Barista :
- Greet guests in a courteous and friendly manner.
- Process orders and enter them accurately into the POS system.
- Receive payment from the customer and process change.
- Serve cold, frozen, and hot drinks as well as a wide variety of food items to guests.
- Follow all recipes and practice portion control to prepare, garnish, and present ordered items.
- Complete opening, on-going, and closing checklists as required.
- Perform general and specific cleaning tasks using standard cleaning products as assigned by supervisor to adhere to health standards.
- Communicate and clarify major job duties, priorities and expectations to the team and provide continuous coaching in a timely manner.
- Maintain brand operational standards and ensure that coffee shop checklists and cleaning schedules are completed on a daily basis.
- Responsible for overseeing cash duties
- Open the Coffee shop, Start up the equipment
- Other duties as assigned.
Skills & Other Requirements
- 2 years of supervising experience.
- High school diploma preferred.
- Verbal and written communication
- Ability to read, speak, and understand the English language in order to communicate with guests and take orders.
- Experience in dealing with problems involving customer service.
- Basic mathematical skills necessary to operate a cash register, make change, total guest checks, count total bank, prepare cash drops, etc.
- Food handlers permit as required by law.
- Brand Certification as required.
- Ability to remember, recite, and promote the variety of menu items.
- Ability to operate a keyboard & point of sale procedures to pre-check an order & close out a check.
- Ability to stand and work in confined spaces for long period of time.
