Cardiothoracic Physician Assistant
Salary :
We are seeking an experienced Physician Assistant to join our growing cardiothoracic surgery team of 4 surgeons and 7 PA’s.
Our teams of heart specialists are using the latest in innovations and procedures, including minimally invasive techniques, such as robot-assisted heart surgery, ventricular assist devices (Impella), cardiac valve repair / replacement, trans-catheter aortic valve replacements (TAVR), Robo / VATS Lobectomies, TEVAR Ex-MAZE ablations, and more.
The physician assistants in our comprehensive cardiothoracic surgery department are valued members of a dynamic team and are on the front-line of patient care.
We are rewarded with a significant amount of clinical autonomy to order and perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, formulate a diagnostic impression, develop and implement a treatment plan, and to monitor the effectiveness of therapeutic interventions.

We offer a flexible, rotating schedule that consists of 3 shifts each week, and are responsible for covering the service 24 / 7 with in-house call one day per week.
Qualified candidates must be :
- A graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant Program
- NCCPA certified
- Licensed, or eligible for license, to practice as a PA in the state of Pennsylvania
- Proficient in EVH. Experience with endoscopic radial harvesting strongly desired but willing to train.
- Qualified to function as the 1st assistant in adult cardiac and thoracic surgeries.
- Experienced in postop critical care management.

Cardiothoracic Physician Assistant
Salary :
High Profile Cardiac Surgery Group seeking an experienced cardiothoracic surgery physician assistant!
World Class cardiac surgery facility with state of the art technology! This role is 50-60% Operating Room Based assisting the surgeons, however, the incumbent will also manage patients in the step down and outpatient, no critical care job duties.
Excellent Quality of Life Schedule. The candidate will work only 3 12 hour shifts per week, 13 shifts in 4 weeks, about 2-3 night shift every 2 months, weekends are based on a rotating basis, holidays are based on a rotating basis. And NO ON-CALL!
MUST have endoscopic vein harvesting experience and have Cardiothoracic surgery physician assistant experience
The person MUST be able to work independently and with the team. He / She MUST be meticulous and efficient.
Under the supervision of a Medical / Surgical physician and within the PA competence, the PA provides medical services to adult cardiac surgical patients.
In the operating room, he / she acts as the first or second-assist, open and endoscopically harvesting veins or arteries for CABG procedures, opening and closing the chest, cannulation, decannulation, etc.
The PA is responsible for the planning and coordination of all aspects of the workup and care of the patients in the unit including management of MCS patients.
Educational Requirements :
Graduate from a PA program approved by Committee on Allied Health Education and Accreditation.
License / Certification / Registration Requirements :
Valid California PA license
PA certification issued by national Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants
DEA from the State of California.
Current BLS / ACLS Certification from the American Heart Association.
Experience :
Full command (verbal and written) of the English language.
Must have Endoscopic Vein and Artery Harvesting experience.
Minimum of one year acute hospital experience
Minimum of 1-2 years of experience with cardiac transplant medicine preferred
