Housekeeper

HOUSEKEEPER

The HOUSEKEEPER is responsible cleaning and maintaining the appearance of all public areas of the work site, cleaning and sanitizing patient / client rooms, changing bed / bath linens, deep cleaning of assigned areas, sweeping / mopping floors, removing trash and meeting / event set-up.

In addition, the HOUSEKEEPER is responsible for restocking Housekeeping supplies.

The successful candidate will possess the following :

  • One year housekeeping experience, preferably in a hospital or similar environment
  • Laundry experience required preferred
  • Knowledge of housekeeping supplies including cleaning chemicals
  • Knowledge of deep cleaning / maintaining multiple areas of a hospital including patient rooms (occupied and un-occupied), nursing stations, lounges, cafeteria / kitchen, waiting areas and offices
  • Experience with floor maintenance
  • Must be able to communicate (speak and understand) English

PRIMARY JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Dusts furniture, woodwork, equipment. Mops floors. Polishes and cleans fixtures in all areas as needed. Wet mops rooms, halls, stairways, and public areas.
  • Operates housekeeping mechanical equipment
  • Moves furniture pertaining to cleaning procedures
  • Buffs, strips, waxes and polishes floors
  • Removes waste and soiled linens from work area following hospital procedures
  • Performs routine and deep cleaning of patient rooms, preparing room for next occupant.
  • Follows isolation and infection control procedures

Security Guard

The SECURITY GUARD performs a variety of duties related to the security of the clinic building and grounds to prevent fire, theft, vandalism, illegal entry and to assure personal safety of employees, patients and visitors.

PRIMARY JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Periodically tours building and grounds for security inspections.
  • Confronts unauthorized persons for questioning, routes or detains when appropriate. Contacts local law enforcement when necessary.
  • Assist clinical staff with management of assaultive behavior related to agitated or aggressive patient.
  • Reports any unusual conditions or malfunctioning equipment.
  • Checks automobiles for proper parking authorization. Checks exterior lighting and access routes to emergency entrance.
  • Maintains written reports of incidents.

The successful candidate will possess the following :

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Active CA Guard Card required
  • One year security guard, preferably in a hospital, clinic or similar environment
  • Knowledge Management of Assaultive Behavior techniques
  • Ability to work around patients seeking psychiatric / behavioral health treatment

Social Worker

The SOCIAL WORKER (MSW) is an integral member of the patient care team providing patients and family members with education and advice emotional support, crisis intervention and counseling to cope with a multiplicity of social and emotional issues that arise as a result of a hospital stay.

The SOCIAL WORKER (MSW) coordinates a varied of services including crisis intervention, bereavement, patient advocacy, referrals, prevention, education, discharge planning and implementation, and psychosocial assessments.

RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Collaborates with the healthcare team and involves patient and / or family in the development and implementation of plan of care
  • Identify patient’s specific needs, coordinating linkage with community agencies, in-home services, and institutional short-term and long-term placement for continuing care
  • Assist patient and / or family and all members of the healthcare team in the discharge planning process
  • Contributes to the monitoring of the quality and appropriateness of patient care delivered
  • Participates in the reporting and analysis of patient satisfaction survey data
  • Promotes and provides for optimum patient outcomes through the use of Socials Services scope of practice and scope of service
  • Complete necessary documentation and maintain clinical record for each client during the patient’s length of stay

EDUCATION / TRAINING / EXPERIENCE :

  • Master’s Degree in Social Work / Social Services. LCSW preferred
  • One (1) year experience as MSW in an acute care environment
  • Understands the relationship of hospital utilization review, care coordination, patient access, discharge planning, and acute care and community-based social services
  • Excellent listening and interpersonal skills
  • Above average verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to handle grief
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Ability to exercise professional judgement in performing day-to-day activities, ensuring adherence to hospital policies and procedures
