Essential Duties :
- When necessary, additional duties may be assigned, and P1 Group expects the incumbent to exercise initiative to anticipate and prevent problems.
- Inspect, diagnose and test mechanical equipment, electrical equipment and fire & life safety systems, using a variety of tools and instruments.
- Respond immediately to fire alarm systems; disengage electrical, water, or gas systems to protect building occupants and property;
assist Hospital staff in removing patients, personnel or equipment as needed.
- Perform specified preventive maintenance and testing of equipment.
- Conduct periodic inspections of designated buildings and equipment; when necessary, repair and perform preventive maintenance on general building facilities and electrical, mechanical, HVAC, refrigeration, and communication systems.
- Perform prescribed non-destructive tests; collect and report deficiencies as well as document all tests using both computer and hand written logs.
- Good communication skills in a highly demanding environment with the owner, or the owner’s representative, on the work performed and present status of various system(s).
- Interpret engineering drawings in reference to layout, location and operation of the system(s).
- Be responsive to the customer’s needs.
- This position reports directly to the Lead Technician and is responsible for keeping them informed about the project’s productivity and profitability and about any personnel, leadership, financial, or legal issues.
- Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner; gathers and analyzes information skillfully; develops alternative solutions;
works well in group problem solving situations
- Performs all work in accordance with established code and safety procedures.
- Performs patient room preventative maintenance including door adjustments, ceiling tile replacement and floor tile replacement.
- Candidate must be very detail-oriented with analytical, mathematical, and grammatical aptitude. Accuracy and precise calculation ability will be essential to the position.
- Ability to multi-task assignments-works on multiple projects simultaneously and retains detail on a daily basis.
Qualifications and Skills :
- Education : High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Must be familiar with hand tools & equipment associated with the trades.
- 0-2 Years minimum of work experience performing building maintenance, including HVAC, plumbing and electrical troubleshooting.
- Must be able to satisfactorily pass a criminal background check and drug screen.
- Must be able to satisfactorily pass a motor vehicle record check. Must be able to meet P1 qualifications to operate a vehicle on company business.
Must be at least 18 years of age. Must possess a valid driver’s license. Must have access to drive a well maintained vehicle.
Must have up to date registration with the local Department of Motor Vehicles.
- Upon offer of position you are required to provide the following :
- Medical records showing up-to-date tuberculosis (TB) test or authorization for new TB testing.
- Medical records showing up-to-date vaccinations or proof of immunity regarding the vaccination list below. If no immunity, then authorization for new vaccinations or a signed declination is required regarding the vaccination list below.
Vaccinations are measles, mumps, rubella (combined MMR), chickenpox (Varicella), tetanus / diphtheria / pertussis (Tdap), and Hepatitis B.

Essential Duties :
The employee’s essential duties are listed below. When necessary, additional duties may be assigned, and P1 expects the incumbent to exercise initiative to anticipate and prevent problems.
- Install, repair and maintain all types of major locks, door closures, and panic hardware systems in accordance with work orders and instructions.
- Open locks by use of lock picking tools, dismantling or other methods; repair locks by replacement of broken parts; adjust or recombinate locks to the master / sub-master system in use.
- Assist in determining methods to be used, including but not limited to key cutting and duplication, adjusting or changing key combinations and recombinating any lock within the Health System;
- Perform periodic maintenance and repair on door closure systems, including but not limited key card systems and electromagnetic systems.
- Utilize key cutting machines, drills, saws, buffers and grinders, key gauges and locksmith tools.
- Work on automatic door systems, including perform testing and repairs of fire doors.
- Maintains records of materials used on jobs and in stock.
- Maintain employee time records in CMMS.
- Performs related work as assigned.
Qualifications and Skills :
- Education : High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Preferred : Technical / Professional Training / Degree, or Trade Certificate.
- Must have ability to interpret blue prints, estimating jobs and familiar with hand tools & equipment associated with the trades.
- Skills / Experience : 3-5 years minimum of work knowledge of hardware and electronic locking systems acquired through a minimum of 3 years of experience in the installation, repair and maintenance of locking systems and 1 year of related experience in one or more of the skilled crafts such as mechanical or electrical.
- Must be able to satisfactorily pass a criminal background check and drug screen.
- Must be able to satisfactorily pass a motor vehicle record check. Must be able to meet P1 Group qualifications to operate a vehicle on company business.
