Electrician Journeyman - Facilities
Description
Under general supervision, performs skilled electrical work at the journeyman level in the installation, alteration, maintenance and repair of electrical systems, fixtures and related equipment

Performs skilled work in the installation, maintenance, alteration and repair of wiring, power appliances, machinery, overhead circuits, underground circuits and pole lines.
Lays out, assembles, installs, tests and maintains electrical fixtures and apparatus, such as boxes, pull boxes, conduit wiring outlets, switch panels and bus bars.
Test circuits for continuity and proper connections.
Installs and maintains motors and generators, seats and replaces brushes, oils and cleans motors and does limited mechanical work in repairing and replacing parts on electrical fixtures or equipment.
Uses standards and specialized electrical tools and equipment, such as voltmeters, ammeters, ohmmeters, magnetos and other hand tools ordinarily used in the trade.
Rewinds coils and armatures, dresses and polishes commutators, converts motors, refrigerators and similar appliances.
Repairs and maintains a power plant switchboard and related control devices.
Makes minor repairs and adjustments on passenger and freight elevators and air conditioning equipment.
Confers with supervisor, department head or others regarding the operation, installation, maintenance or repair of electrical systems or equipment.
- Advises in the selection and storage of electrical equipment.
- Consults and works with other trades personnel.
Makes rough sketches and estimates of the cost of minor electrical installations, interprets blueprints, sketches and specifications in making electrical installations.

Minimum Qualifications : Education : None
Experience : One (1) year of experience as a journeyman electrician
Licensure / Certifications / Registrations Required : Licensed by the State of Oklahoma as a journeyman electrician
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities : Knowledge of the principles, methods, materials, tools and equipment used in the installation, maintenance and repair of electrical fixtures and equipment.
Knowledge of the occupational hazards involved and safety precautions necessary in the electrical trade. Knowledge of local, state and national electric codes and the underwriters rules for electrical installations.
Ability to demonstrate skill in the installation, maintenance and repair of electrical apparatus. Ability to read, interpret and work from blueprints, drawings sketches and specifications.
Ability to make rough sketches and estimates the cost of electrical work. Ability to keep simple records and make reports and follow oral and written directions.

Courier - Laboratory Clinics

Under general supervision, will be responsible for providing courier service for the OU Health

- Operates hospital vehicle on an as needed basis according to hospital policy and procedure.
- Maintains vehicle records and assists with maintenance.
- Responsible for transporting files and / or specimens, billing information and reports between the different facilities.
- Responsible for obtaining proper documentation for specimens and files.
- Ensures specimens are transported according to specimen condition and requirements.
- Communicates with clients and providers regarding specimen requirements and transport.
- Uses computer system to obtain client information, specimen transport requirements and documents.
- Assists with preparing shipping containers, filling supply orders, maintaining inventory as well as handling basic client requests for assistance, information or products.
- Ensures proper specimen transport in the event of unusual environmental conditions or diverse delivery locations or conflicting multiple priorities.

Experience : Previous laboratory courier experience is preferred

Transport/Flight Paramedic - Various Shifts
Description
Functions under the administrative guidance of the shift supervisor or manager to provide services to patients. Under the clinical direction of the Physician, collects and conveys information to physician and licensed nurse regarding the health status of patients.
The Transport Paramedic will function as a team member providing care and transportation to all patients that are served by Oklahoma Children’s Hospital.
The Paramedic is required to maintain the readiness of equipment, availability of supplies and complete related paperwork.
In addition to caring for the patients in the pre-hospital environment, the transport paramedic will be part of the care delivery to the patients at Oklahoma Children’s Hospital during non-transport times.
The Transport paramedic will assist in the delivery of care in the NICU, PICU, Pediatric ED, or any other area, noting that the Transport Paramedic’s first responsibility is to transport, and they must be made available to leave the facility within target timelines.
Outreach activities are also an integral part of the Transport Paramedic role. These may include education of regional providers, public relations activities, and other quality activities.

- Carries out treatment plan in collaboration with the patient’s healthcare team.
- Administers NRP / BLS / ACLS / PALS in accordance with defined guidelines or accordance to medical direction.
- Timely and appropriate documentation of care rendered.
- Assists with inter-facility and intra-facility transfers of patients and attends to personal needs of patients / families with each transport.
- Functions as a professional representative of the Oklahoma Children’s Hospital Transport Program on every shift.
- Maintains and provides upkeep of OCH ambulances, transport equipment, and supplies on a shift basis.
- Performs and assists with assessment and vital signs as directed.
- Performs patient care including insertion of vascular access and airway management
- Contributes information to the licensed nurse for the development and modification of the patient's plan of care.
- Assists with the licensed nurse in delivering and documenting care provided to the patient.
- Provides for patient safety.
- Responsible for responding to requests for transport with all of Oklahoma Children’s Hospital ground and air vehicles, record keeping, data entry, and clerical support as assigned.
- Responsible for ongoing development of the Oklahoma Children’s Hospital transport program by attending and participating in meetings, in-services, committees, outreach efforts and taking on and completing projects as assigned.
- Operates a ground ambulance in accordance with applicable Oklahoma Statutes and Regulations of the Oklahoma State Department of Health and all Federal rules and regulations.
- Provides for patient safety and acts as a safety officer over operations involving movement of the patient once loaded onto the stretcher / isolette until offloaded at the receiving facility.
- Completes and documents OCH ambulance safety inspections at the beginning of each shift.
- Stocks and maintains the vehicles and their contents in a state of readiness at all times. Maintains the building and its contents.
Maintains documentation of the same.
Participates in Quality Assurance and Quality Improvement programs as assigned.

Education :
High school or GED required. Associates or Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Experience :
Three (3) years of job related experience (4000 hours) as a paramedic in a position providing Advanced Life Support required.
Acute care / emergency setting experience with pediatric patients, preferred.
Licensure and Certifications :
- National Registry of Paramedics Certification required
- Current license issued by the Oklahoma State Department of Health as a Paramedic required
- Valid Oklahoma Driver’s License required
- BLS Basic Life Support required upon hire
- ACLS Advanced Cardiac Life Support required within six months of hire
- PALS Pediatric Advanced Life Support required within six months of hire
- NRP certifications required within six months of hire
- Advanced certification specializing in Neonatal and Pediatric Transport obtained within 24 months of hire.
- Advanced certification specializing in Flight obtained within 24 months of hire.
- Emergency Vehicle Operators Course required to complete orientation and refresher every three years thereafter.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge of basic hospital policies and procedures.
- Knowledge of medical terminology. Knowledge of office procedures and equipment.
- Skilled in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with others.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
- Ability to type accurately.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with emphasis on providing customer service to internal and external customers.
- Good computer skills with familiarity and / or ability to learn Microsoft Office, Teletracking and other software applications.
- Knowledge of commonly used hospital based computer programs would be helpful.
- Ability to accurately utilize prehospital patient charting software.
- Ability to relay information accurately and concisely.
- Ability to work closely with multiple disciplines in the healthcare setting.
- Ability to successfully handle multiple tasks.

Medical Assistant - Urology Clinic
Description
Under direct supervision of a physician or other medical personnel, performs routine patient care functions such as physician assistance, patient placement, testing, information gathering, nursing duties, chaperoning, supply maintenance, and scheduling.
May coordinate schedules of patients in an outpatient clinic and provide clerical assistance toward the smooth operation of the facility.
Essential Responsibilities :
Physician Assistance . Assists physician or other medical personnel in the examination process as required or necessary.
Performs order entry to electronic medical records, i.e., prescription refills, sets up lab tests or x-rays, etc.
- Patient Placement . Places patients in exam rooms. Drapes and positions patients for appropriate exams or procedures. Assists in restraining or controlling patients (infants, children, geriatrics, etc.).
- Test Performance . Performs routine tests on patients such as audiograms, vision, spirometer, EKG, rapid strep, urinalysis, and urine pregnancy tests.
Assists with cardiovascular stress tests, fetal non-stress tests, and OB ultrasounds.
Information Gathering . Obtains and records vital signs including body temperature, height, weight, and takes blood pressure.
Takes and documents complaints and patient histories including allergies, immunization histories, etc. Maintains patient confidentiality.
Receives and returns telephone calls from or to patients and pharmacies. Obtains authorizations and referrals.
Nursing . Performs various nursing duties such as suture removal, casting and steristrip applications, administration of injections, venipunctures, breathing treatments, ultrasound therapy, and hydroculator therapy.
Assists with both surgical and non-surgical procedures.
- Chaperoning . Chaperones examinations and patients.
- Supply Maintenance . Responsible for stocking exam rooms, taking inventory, ordering supplies, and sterilizing instruments and / or equipment.
- Scheduling . Makes scheduling arrangements with other healthcare professionals and facilities.

Minimum Requirements :
Education : None required. Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program preferred
Experience : None required. 6 months experience in patient care as a Medical Assistant or 6 months performing electronic order entry as a qualified Assessment-Based Recognition in Order Entry (ABR-OE) preferred.
Licensure / Certifications / Registrations Required : Basic Life Support (American Heart Association) certification required upon hire.
