Qualifications

In this exciting role, you will perform complex mechanical engineering tasks, including design and development activities in support of specific scientific and engineering programs, taking responsibility for sub-projects and sub-groups within major projects or research programs at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory (LBNL).

These activities may include conceptualization, design, planning, implementation, and completion of assigned problems, tasks, and projects, which have a high degree of complexity and range in scope.

What You Will Do :

What is Required :

B.S. in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Engineering physics, or related field or equivalent experience.

The lead engineering role is typically acquired with 8+ years of experience.

Salary :

The full salary range of this position is between $11,085 to $18,707 per month and is expected to pay between a targeted range of $12,472 to $15,242 per month depending upon the candidate's skills, knowledge, and abilities, including education, certifications, and years of experience.

  • This is a full-time 2 year, term appointment with the possibility of extension or conversion to Career appointment based upon satisfactory job performance, continuing availability of funds and ongoing operational needs.

Requirements :

  • BS in Computer Science or related quantitative discipline with three (3) years of applicable work experience or MS in the same fields with one (1) year of applicable work experience.
  • Willingness to occasionally travel to customer sites, conferences, and offsite meetings (5%)
  • You will be subject to a background investigation and you must have the ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Defense security clearance.
