Position Summary :

Courteously and professionally meets and greets all visitors, residents and staff who enter the Nursing Center. Directs them to log in, presents visitor badge and contacts the appropriate staff member to escort them within the facility.

Handles a high volume call board and assists callers with information as necessary and appropriate. Protects the confidentiality of resident and staff information.

Participates in the fire safety program. Monitors the comings and going of residents in the lobby area.

  • Answers high volume of telephone calls forwarding calls and answering inquiries appropriately.
  • Meets and greets, in a courteous and professional manner, all visitors, residents and staff.
  • Actively participates in the Security and Life Safety Programs for the facility May need to contact 911 and interact with members of the various NYC emergency services.
  • Monitors residents access / egress to the building and intervenes as necessary to assure resident safety.
  • Is alert to safety and / or other types of hazards.
  • Monitors the security cameras as needed and alerts appropriate staff when concerns are noted.
  • May float to other departments and assist with clerical or other duties as assigned.
  • Shows interest in and dedication to the Home and avoids harmful criticism or negative conduct.
  • Reports to work on time and work the full-time schedule.
  • Completes assigned work accurately and on schedule.

Other Responsibilities Include :

Participation in In-Service programs as required by the Home.

Compliance with the Policies and Procedures of the Home.

Other duties as required.

General Qualifications :

  • 6 mos. office clerical / receptionist experience required
  • 3- 6 mos. experience handliing high volume phones or call board
  • Knowledge of fire / safety procedures preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of software programs such as Word, Groupwise helpful.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Flexible and self motivated individual.
  • Able to act quickly and make good judgements in emergency situations and concerning the various areas of the Front Desk responsibilities
  • Makes good use of time.
  • Ability to work with several different groups.
  • Ability to handle diverse responsibilities.
  • Must maintain appropriate business appearance.

Educational Requirements :

High School diploma required. G.E.D. acceptable. Some college preferred

Responsibilities

  • Address client’s aspects of performance to support engagement in occupations that affect health, well-being and life quality
  • Select and adapt the appropriate per case occupational therapy treatment model, method and approach to direct the process of interventions
  • Apply interventions to maximize safety and performance in activities of daily living (ADL) and instrumental activities of daily living (IADL)
  • Teach clients new ways of approaching tasks and educate them on how to break down activities into achievable components
  • Assess client’s home and other environments and advice on alterations consistent with their needs and capabilities
  • Recommend adaptive equipment and train in its use
  • Guide and educate family members and caregivers
  • Observe, note, and report on progress of long and short term treatment goals
  • Collect data and document processes followed
  • Regularly follow-up client

Skills

  • Proven working experience as occupational therapist
  • Excellent knowledge of principles and practices of occupational therapy
  • Familiarity with ADLs evaluation tools
  • Current knowledge of treatment practices per discipline and drive to continually learn and grow in the profession
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills
  • Valid license to practice occupational therapy
  • BS degree or greater in occupational therapy

Maintenance worker

Position Summary :

The Maintenance Worker is responsible for maintaining, repairing, installing items, charting and cleaning of all Mechanical Equipment.

Maintenance Workers must be available 24 hours a day, in particular for Snow Removal Operations and emergencies. Must be able to lift, push, pull and carry 70 100 pounds.

  • Check and chart all operation logs.
  • Inspect and repair all resident living areas.
  • Must be proficient in the areas of electrical, plumbing, carpentry work.
  • Ability to paint in a neat and orderly fashion.
  • Responsible for snow removal.
  • Other tasks as directed by their supervisor.
