Evening (United States of America)All assigned areas of the hospital are cleaned, maintained, and serviced in a safe and efficient manner using various cleaning supplies, agents, and equipment.

Job Description :

Essential Duties & Responsibilities (including but not limited to) :

1) Follows work schedule and performs all daily and weekly job tasks in the assigned work area to meet department standards of cleanliness.

Understands and follows department procedures at all times.

Follows instructions and responds to work assignments from the manager and lead person all of the time.

Efficiently manages work time and completes schedule by the end of the shift.

Operates various types of heavy equipment to meet job demands.

2) Removes trash from assigned work areas at the beginning and end of the shift.

3) Empties and replaces needle boxes following hazardous waste procedures. Needle boxes are always emptied when they are 3 / 4 full.

4) Provides carpet care and vacuums all carpets following the schedule.

Provides spot removal from carpets and upholstery as needed.

Bonnet-cleans carpeted areas as needed.

Informs manager of carpets that require scheduled project carpet extraction.

5) Maintains tiled floors by dry mopping, damp mopping, and rinsing them, including edges and corners, moving furniture and items as needed.

Provides floor maintenance by spray buffing or burnishing tiled floors.

Maintains the desired appearance of floors; may strip and refinish floors as needed.

Informs manager of floors that may require scheduled project stripping work done.

6) Inspects work area and performs necessary cleaning tasks independently.

7) Takes the initiative to make sufficient time for a low and high dusting of assigned areas. Keeps vents dust-free.

8) Polishes stainless steel, brass, and other smooth surfaces according to work schedule.

9) Assists with the cleaning of patient rooms, restrooms, bathrooms, common areas, etc., as needed.

10) Provides assistance to the light aide moving equipment and furniture in and out of patient rooms and common areas as needed.

11) Inspects all window, cubicle, and shower curtains; changes and re-hangs curtains and drapes in assigned areas, as needed.

Recommends cleaning to manager.

12) Maintains equipment and keeps all equipment clean and safe. Notifies supervisor of any equipment problems or unsafe working conditions.

13) Plans supply and equipment needs and takes appropriate items at the beginning of each shift. Maintains adequate par level of supplies in housekeeping closet and keeps the closet clean and neat.

14) Attends hospital / department in-services and meetings as required.

Minimum Qualifications :

1. Cleaning experience in a hospital or industrial setting, with experience in sanitation principles and techniques preferred.

Experience in operating various types of heavy housekeeping equipment.

2. Ability to read and write to understand directions and warnings on cleaning supplies and various postings, and to complete logs.

3. Interpersonal skills to be pleasant and courteous and to interact with patients, visitors, and all levels of hospital staff.

4. Ability to pay close attention to detail for a majority of the workday.

Physical Requirements & Environment :

1. Works in a clean, well-lit, well-ventilated area for the majority of the workday.

2. Physical demands include lifting objects over 100 pounds, as well as lifting objects from floor to waist, and moving heavy loads from place to place.

Ability to operate various types of heavy housekeeping equipment.

3. Spends approximately 95% of the time doing manual labor that includes walking, stooping / bending, kneeling, pushing / pulling, climbing (including stairs), and lifting objects for a majority of the workday.

4. Some exposure to infectious hazardous materials and contact with water and cleaning and disinfecting solutions.

The Medical Assistant has the ability to work with people from different backgrounds and respects the beliefs of all patients and team members.

Reports to the Practice Manager.

1.High School diploma or GED required. Bachelor's degree in Health Science preferred.

2.License Medical Assistant Certificate preferred., or Registration Certified Nursing Assistant preferred., or Certificate 1 EMT Basic License preferred.

or Certificate 2 Phlebotomy Certificate preferred.

3.0-1 years related work experience required.

4.Demonstrated Medical Assistant (MA) competencies within one year of hire.

Job Description :

Location : BILH Chelsea Primary Care Practice

The Practice Assistant (or Medical Assistant) role is now eligible for a $1,500 sign on bonus. Important Details : Bonuses are paid out in $500 increments at 30 days, 6 months and at the 1 year anniversary.

To be eligible, you must be a non-BILH employee or a previous eligible employee who returns to BILH after 1 year. Employee must be in good standing to receive the bonus at the time of payment.

All bonuses are subject to applicable taxes. This program is subject to change at any point.

Job Summary : Reports to : Practice Manager or Ambulatory Practice Coordinator with input from assigned physician(s), nurses or other health care providers.

Responsible for delivering the highest quality service to patients while contributing to the smooth functioning of practice operations.

Department Specific Job Responsibilities :

Answers and processes telephone calls in a polite and courteous manner. Provides accurate information, directions and / or guidance and follows up promptly to ensure that needs have been met.

Process and prepare prior authorizations, including prescriptions, imaging and procedures.

Process and prepare prescription refills (requests via fax, patients portal, escribe).

Review, respond to and appropriately message and follow up on patient portal messages.

Perform Practice Assistant duties : Greet patients, perform check in, registration, scheduling, verification of demographic information and fiscal data.

Collects co-payments, schedules, reschedules and cancels appointments making every effort to accommodate patient and provider needs.

Obtains and enters referrals. Prepare and maintain medical records.

Support practice in an administrative clinical capacity by working with Nurse and Medical Assistant team to streamline workflows.

Essential Responsibilities :

Serves as a communication resource. Asks appropriate questions and solves problems. Takes complete and accurate information from patients in person and by phone, prioritizing and communicating the information to providers appropriately.

Responds quickly and courteously to phone calls and requests. Seeks assistance from supervisor and others appropriately.

Greets patients and escorts to exam rooms. Ensures availability of x-rays, lab slips, medical records and other pertinent info.

Obtains vitals, weight, blood pressure, pulse and temperature, performs EKGs, injections and / or phlebotomy, and assists providers.

Performs departmental screening, lab tests and specimen collection. Implements quality control standards.

Provides patients with relevant instructions for specific tests and procedures. Performs or assists with routine procedures under proper supervision as directed by physician, Nurse Practitioner.

Schedules follow-up tests and appointments. Arranges patient transport as needed. Sorts / distributes lab results daily to appropriate physician or nurse practitioner.

Maintains patient confidentiality.

Assists with procuring medical records. Ensures patient records and relevant documents filed in the record have appropriate patient identification.

Adds new medications to patient record in EMR system. Assemble records according to BIDHC / APG policy and as standards are defined by the Joint Commission of Accreditation of Health Care Organizations (JCAHO).

Ensures that equipment and supplies necessary to carry out patient care activities are available and usable and the environment is clean and organized.

Maintains an unobstructed area for patient access. Cleans rooms after patient usage and ensures appropriate disposal of contaminated materials.

Tracks, orders and maintains supplies and equipment, restocks supplies.

Participates in practice improvement initiatives.

Attend and successfully complete annual APG Medical Assistant Competency Training.

Medical Assistants will ensure that PHI (Patient Health Information) will only be used for the purposes of patient TPO (treatment, payment and operations).

APG patient personal health information is only shared with individuals who are actively managing the patient's care. NO other parties are entitled to receive, discuss a patient's personal health information without the patient's permission.

The Medical Assistant will ensure patient safety practices to prevent / eliminate risk of patient harm. Adverse patient events and near misses will be promptly reported to the APG Risk Management Dept.

Required Qualifications :

High School diploma or GED required.

Certificate 1 Medical Assistant Certificate required.

0-1 years related work experience required.

Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program.

Experience with computer systems required, including web based applications and some Microsoft Office applications which may include Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint or Access.

Preferred Qualifications :
