Security officer
Position Summary
The Security Officer is responsible for the security and safety of MultiCare s patients, staff, employees and visitors, and protection of MultiCare Health System properties.
The Security Officer functions as the first responder to incidents and maintains command until relieved, treating all those encountered with respect and kindness during stressful and challenging situations.
The Security Officer files reports; conducts investigations; assures all hospital safety and security policies and procedures are met;
escalates and communicates situations to security leadership for dissemination to senior leadership.
Minimum Requirements :
Six (6) months of experience in police, military, or security, preferable in a health care setting
Education / Licenses / Certifications :
High School graduate or equivalent preferred
Valid Washington State driver's license and proof of a safe driving record (which meets established MHS Standards) obtained by a motor vehicle report from Washington state
Security Coordinator.
Position Summary
The Security Coordinator is responsible for coordinating campus security needs and overseeing the daily operations and staff of Security at an assigned location.
In addition this position performs all the duties of a Security Officer. This position works under limited supervision. Work situations are a variety of routine and non-routine situations and functions requiring leadership, a service oriented individual, discretion, good judgment, decision-making, and physical prowess.
Internal contacts include staff and management throughout the organization. External contacts include visitors, patients, physicians, and local law enforcement agencies.
Minimum Requirements :
Three years experience in police, military police, or security, preferable in a Health care setting
Current Washington State Drivers License; and proof of a safe driving record (which meets established MHS Standards) obtained by a motor vehicle report from the appropriate state
Education / Licenses / Certifications :
Associates degree preferred
Social Worker.
$10,000 sign-on bonus available for external candidates
About the Position
The Social Worker is part of a multi-disciplinary treatment team serving adults in an involuntary inpatient psychiatric hospital.
The social worker responsible for completing psycho-social assessments, providing treatment interventions, and engaging in continues discharge planning for the patients assigned to their case load.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties, responsibilities, and activities may change or be assigned at any time with or without notice.
- Active in evaluating medical necessity criteria for treatment and legal criteria for involuntary treatment holds.
- Complete social work assessments, provide continuous psychosocial assessment and to be actively involved in the interdisciplinary treatment planning process.
- Evaluate patient needs for discharge including housing, funding and outpatient treatment, and provides active discharge planning in conjunction with the treatment team and existing community providers.
- Provide patient and family education regarding the patient’s treatment and discharge planning needs.
- Provides treatment interventions and may provide individual and group treatment.
- Will work with Court Evaluators on less restrictive orders and provide necessary information and documentation related to the patient’s legal hold.
- Is the primary liaison to family, community supports, and community Providers.
- Follows organization infection control policies and procedures. At risk for exposure to blood borne pathogens.
- Follows organization policies and procedures as well as standards of care defined by regulating bodies.
- Will understand and maintain social work standards of care requirements.
- Performs other job duties as assigned.
Education and / or Experience
- M.S.W. Required
- Active WA State licensure or Agency Affiliated Counselor Registration (or ability to obtain before hire).
- Experience in inpatient settings preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Excellent writing and computer skills required.
Supervisory Responsibilities
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Computer Skills
Candidates are required to type all documentation in an electronic health record. Training will be provided. Candidates should have basic typing and word processing skills.

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee / patient interaction may involve lifting, pushing, pulling, twisting, and stooping requiring upper and lower body strength.
