Montereau is currently seeking a part-time Concierge for our Health Center desk. This position will work Saturday & Sunday from 8 : 00am - 2 : 00pm .

Position Summary

Montereau Health Center Concierges maintain a welcoming environment for residents, visitors and staff by providing professional management of the building entrance and concierge desk by demonstrating the highest level of customer service in a manner consistent with the Montereau mission, vision and values.

Essential Functions :

  • Assure that the Independent Living (IL) entrance and concierge desk is managed in an efficient, professional manner so that access is monitored and all residents, visitors, staff, and contractors are greeted courteously and announced and / or directed appropriately;
  • all inquiries are responded to accurately and completely; incoming calls are screened and routed timely or clear, concise messages are taken when required;

problems are assessed and resolved or referred to leadership as required.

  • Complete accurately and timely various assigned administrative reports to assure information regarding IL residents is communicated in a manner that facilitates Montereau operations.
  • Responsibilities include : process and log cash receipts; generate daily Flash Report; track IL residents while in the Health Centers or hospital;

assure daily that new residents and discharges are accurately reflected in the Answers on Demand (AOD) software, SARA System, PM Worx and resident directories and current resident information is provided to pertinent departments.

  • Continuously monitor emergency systems for IL residents, including the fire panel and emergency call system (pendants, pull cords and smoke detectors) and work closely with Security and Wellness Nurse to assure immediate response to any resident situation or contact appropriate emergency services as required.
  • Provide a wide variety of support to the staff and residents to assure the highest level of individualized customer service, including such activities as : receiving packages or flowers and contacting residents for pickup, entering maintenance and housekeeping work requests and advising residents of schedule changes, handling guest suite reservations, taking resident absence notifications, coordinating transportation requests, etc.
  • Support Montereau's marketing efforts to maximize resident occupancy by obtaining information from prospective residents inquiring about the community and contacting Marketing with prospect information.
  • Sort and process resident and staff mail on a daily basis for expedient delivery.

Other Functions :

  • Monitor surveillance and access control system, including programming of resident key fobs.
  • Coordinate communications related to resident deaths and securing the associated residence.
  • Perform other related functions as required or as assigned.

Position Requirements :

Experience :

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in a customer service or administrative position is required
  • Previous experience working with older adults or in a healthcare setting is preferred

Education / Certifications / Licenses :

High school diploma or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience is required

Job Specific Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities :

  • Intermediate level computer skills in MS Office, including Word, Excel and Outlook and ability to learn new software systems
  • Solid problem solving and decision making skills
  • Strong verbal communication skills to effectively address issues and concerns with diverse populations while showing compassion and empathy

Physical Demands :

In order to accomplish the essential functions of this position, the following are required :

  • An extensive amount of sitting, with an occasional amount of walking, standing, kneeling, bending at the waist, and reaching above the head and shoulders
  • Ability to occasionally lift and push up to 25 pounds
  • Frequent use of ordinary communication, including normal levels of hearing and vision, including both near and far seeing, color discrimination, field of vision, and depth perception
  • Ability to use a computer, telephone, or other office equipment for an extensive period of time

Working Conditions :

This position performs work primarily indoors within a shared office environment with a great deal of interruptions and foot traffic.

SECURITY GUARD JOB SUMMARY

Ensure a safe and secure environment for residents, visitors and staff and assist with resident requests while demonstrating the highest level of customer service in a manner consistent with the Montereau mission, vision and values

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF SECURITY GUARD

Responds to all injuries and concerns of residents, guests, and team members while demonstrating the highest level of customer service.

Responsible for administering medical first aid treatment and assist with facilitating transportation to medical facilities.

  • Respond to emergency calls for requests for medical assistance.
  • Report all medical incidents, accidents, or emergencies to Director of Plant Operations.
  • Complete and incident report documenting any medical response calls.
  • Monitor emergency calls from the emergency call system, residents, nurse stations and building alarm systems to assure emergency management protocol processes are initiated and properly followed.

Respond to emergency calls for the Independent Living (IL) community by assessing the situation, taking appropriate action, and assuring external respondents (EMSA, fire, police, etc.

are notified timely and directed to the proper area. Assist with safety or security emergency situations in the Heath Centers (HC), assuring external respondents are directed to the proper area.

  • Maintains inventory of medical supplies in all EMT Medical Supply boxes throughout the community.
  • Conduct foot patrols of all buildings to ensure security of the facility. Assure all doors are locked or unlocked, as appropriate, lighting is set correctly, and buildings are free from any unauthorized persons or other issues which might threaten the safety or security of residents or employees.
  • Conduct mobile patrols of the grounds, as scheduled, throughout shift to assure continuously safe conditions are maintained and there are no intruders on the property.
  • Provide relief coverage for IL and HC concierge during regular work hours and provide management of incoming telephone calls during after-hours.

Conduct wellness security checks and respond to requests for property access or residence lock-out assistance assuring that all situations are handled in a prompt, courteous and efficient manner.

  • Control parking, assure traffic flow, and enforce traffic regulations on the property to assure maximum safety and security for staff, residents, and visitors.
  • Monitor video surveillance system and assure that daily security reports and incident reports are completed, including a review of pertinent surveillance with complete notes to assure necessary and proper documentation of all significant safety and security issues.

Assure that police reports are filed, as needed.

Provide a broad variety of customer service for residents and visitors as requested including, delivering miscellaneous mail, packages, and flowers to in-house bins and garden homes, delivering newspapers to nurses stations, turning on facility TV's, delivering meals to garden home residents, as requested, assisting with stalled cars, etc.

SECURITY GUARD QUALIFICATIONS

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in a security related position is preferred
  • Previous experience in law enforcement, or being a first responder in a healthcare setting
  • Possess and maintain a State Certified EMT Basic, Intermediate, or Paramedic license.
  • Current Health Care Provider or Professional Rescuer CPR card
  • Ability to handle stressful situations is a must
  • Valid driver's license and safe driving record required
  • CLEET license is required (or must be obtained within the first 90 days of being in this position)
  • Proficiency in operating an alarm monitoring system, fire panel and SARA syste
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills; must be fluent and literate in English.
  • Ability to effectively interact with a diverse leadership team, staff, residents, and third party associates, including vendors, providers, and visitors
  • Ability to effectively manage sensitive and confidential communications and information, while maintaining a high level of poise, tact and diplomacy.
