Mid Valley Disposal is currently seeking applicants for our dynamic Operations Team. Are you a dispatcher looking for a position with a consistent schedule and where you can be home each evening with family?

Mid Valley Disposal is looking for a motivated employee who would like to join their team. In this role, you will help Mid Valley Disposal by leading a team towards the success of the daily communication with the drivers.

The dispatcher is responsible for communicating back and forth with drivers and assist with problem resolution while on route.

In addition, create capacity, maximize productivity, and ensure prompt, courteous and efficient service to all customers and drivers.

QUALIFIED CANDIDATES WOULD BE EXPECTED TO :

  • Dispatch drivers to calls as they are received, coordinate customer needs, driver locations and loads, and scheduling factors to balance cost and speed of response
  • Assign routes and service tickets to appropriate drivers throughout the day and for the next day, close service tickets each day
  • Receive incoming calls and e-mails from customer service and sales department; manages requests for pick-up or container delivery and ensuring same-day service
  • Initiates outbound calls to customers while drivers are on-site / location, resolving pick-up and other issues
  • Troubleshoots and resolves potential delivery and pick-up problems before they result in service issues
  • Ensures same-day service on missed pick-ups by coordinating driver movement in the field
  • Records and documents information from route logs for data entry into computer software
  • Ensure maximum productivity by achieving or exceeding Company-established goals by successfully routing vehicles
  • Assign loads to drivers based on designated routes and driver location
  • Prepare, update and dispense the daily route schedule
  • Gather and maintain route sheet documentation for pick-ups (scheduled, missed, extra pickups), route completions and driver locations
  • Ensure route completion via the driver check-in process
  • Courteously interact with customers, as required
  • Direct office traffic and addressing upcoming issues, and communicate to supervisor or management
  • Collect mail and distribute it appropriately
  • Report driver performance issues or concerns to appropriate management for resolution
  • Follow all required safety policies and procedures
  • Process tags for contaminated and overloaded bins
  • Occasionally travel to other MVD sites

EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION :

Minimum Knowledge and Skills Required

  • Ability to work in a fast paced and interactive environment while taking initiative to solve issues as they arise
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and maintain composure under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Demonstrate a high customer service commitment
  • Ability to utilize industry specific software applications
  • Must be able to communicate effectively and professionally via e-mail, telephone, and 2-way devices
  • Ability to communicate effectively both written / verbal
  • Knowledge of the waste management industry is preferred
  • Tenacious, critical thinking, and meticulous problem solver

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION

MINIMUM REQUIRED :

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • One (1) year previous Dispatcher experience preferred
  • Two (2) years of Customer Service experience is preferred

Fluency in Spanish is preferred but not required. This is a full-time position with a benefits package. Salary / Hourly rate will be determined based on experience and training of the candidate.

Schedule will be Monday through Friday occasionally Saturday.

Mid Valley Disposal is currently seeking applicants for our dynamic Maintenance department. Are you excited by the opportunity of contributing to a company that is making a difference on their daily driven vehicles and want to help ensure that Mid Valley Disposal operates safely while driving our growth and innovation as a leading environmental and recycling organization?

In this role you will help Mid Valley Disposal by supporting our Maintenance Team and will be responsible for performing repairs to all company owned equipment such as trucks, trailers, yellow iron and automobiles to company and DOT standards.

Mechanics are expected to diagnose and communicate parts and repair needs of all equipment in the fleet to the shop supervisor.

Mechanics will perform all aspects of truck and equipment repair to include but not limited to, Electrical, Hydraulic, Brakes, Suspension, steering as well as performing Preventive Maintenance.

QUALIFIED CANDIDATES WOULD BE EXPECTED TO :

  • Reliable, consistent attendance is a requirement and essential function of all positions
  • Use effective interpersonal skills to maintain positive working relationships with team members and other departments
  • Perform scheduled service, Preventative maintenance, and unscheduled maintenance on all company owned equipment to include road calls.
  • Document parts, time, and description of repairs for every unit to be turned in at the end of every shift
  • Inspect and diagnose mechanical issues that are reported on DVIR’s and communicate repairs on DVIR back to the driver
  • Use appropriate resources to effectively and efficiently diagnose and repair units
  • Must be able to perform road calls to maintain maximum uptime
  • Have knowledge of welding and be able to perform welding repairs as needed
  • Will attend vendor and company sponsored training
  • Proactively communicate issues to supervisors as they arise
  • Must be able to contribute to the goals of the Shop, Leadership Team, and Company
  • Abides by all company policies, and safety rules, and assists with maintaining a clean, safe workplace
  • Will perform any other duties as assigned

EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION :

  • Class C license is required, Class A or B preferred
  • ASE Certified is a plus but not required
  • Must be able to diagnose with a Diagnostic laptop or equivalent
  • Applicant should be self-motivated, safety oriented and be able to work in a deadline driven environment
  • Experience servicing Class 6-8 and heavy-duty equipment required
  • Hydraulic and electrical system experience is a plus
  • Experience in the waste industry is preferred but not required

This is a full-time position with a benefits package. Hourly rate will be determined based on experience and training of the candidate.

Schedule will be Monday through Friday 1pm start time. Must be willing to work Saturdays.
