Maintenance Planner / Scheduler / Spare parts

Job Description :

This position is responsible for managing and maintaining the Computerized Maintenance

Management System (CMMS) Also the planning and scheduling of maintenance activities.

Works closely with Maintenance Manager, Supervisors, and maintenance technicians.

Managing the spare parts inventory for the maintenance department.

Duties and Responsibilities :

• Entering and maintaining data in the CMMS related to assets, spare parts, PMs, Work Orders, etc.
• Working closely with CMMS champions at other MIWD plant locations to make sure the CMMS data is entered according to MIWD standards.
• Training others in the proper use of the CMMS
• Communicates directly with Purchasing and Inventory Agent regarding data in CMMS and parts required and inventory levels needed to complete all scheduled work orders and PMs
• Communicate directly with OEMs to create suggested spare parts BOMs in CMMS system.
• Create PMs per the OEM suggestions and modify existing PMs as needed.
• Develop and maintain a library of OEM manuals, standard maintenance jobs, maintenance procedures.
• Tracking and reporting Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
• Ensure safety considerations are given top priority in all work order planning.
• Prepare and maintain a weekly maintenance schedule based on priority and resource availability.
• Maintain an organized and relevant backlog of approved maintenance work orders.
• Creates part kits’ and gathers special tools needed for work orders and PMs to increase direct wrench time of mechanics.

Qualifications, Skills and Abilities :

• Minimum H.S. diploma or equivalent, technical degree or certification helpful.
• 3-5 years previous experience with inventory management and a CMMS system preferred.
• General parts, electrical, welding, and mechanical equipment understanding.
• Familiar with TPM and other maintenance improvement techniques.
• Must be detail oriented and able to communicate clearly with management, personnel, and vendors.
• Proficient in MS word and excel.

• Technical or Trade school degree preferred, or a combination of a High School Diploma or G.E.D. plus 2 years of experience in a maintenance occupation in a manufacturing environment
• Basic understanding of industrial electricity
• Working knowledge of energy sources for each piece of utility equipment in assigned area (electric, hydraulic, and pneumatic, etc.

PLC experience a plus

• Ability to maintain plant utilities (lighting, water systems, drain systems, etc.)
• Ability to work independently when directed
• Basic understanding of schematics and blueprints
• Basic understanding of various diagnostic equipment including but not limited to ohms meters, voltage meters, etc. Basic knowledge and understanding of power equipment including cut-off saws, demo-saws, drills, etc.

A Maintenance Planner Scheduler oversees and organizes scheduled maintenance tasks mostly Pm’s (Preventative Maintenance) but not limited to.

Making sure the parts needed to perform scheduled tasks are inhouse before scheduling work. This may include writing new PM’s for new equipment before or after it is put into service for production, rewriting PM’s on existing equipment when and where needed.

Assist others to make sure that production remain to run Safely, Efficiently and Productively when they are scheduled. Their normal shift is but not limited to 8 hours per day Monday through Friday.

Overtime of 9-10 per weekday shift and Saturday / Sunday maybe required upon production levels and schedules.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Follow all Safety Policies and procedures including but not limited to LO / TO.

Successful applicants will be a multi-crafted maintenance technician : Must possess a variety of experience and in-depth knowledge in areas such as mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and Industrial Controls;

PLC skills a plus. Minimum of FIVE years of experience as a maintenance technician or equivalent. This is a hands-on position in a continuous production environment.

KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES :

• Service, troubleshoot, and repair industrial components such as motors, variable AC drives, PLCs, servos, sensors, and switches.
• Service, troubleshoot, and repair industrial pneumatic system components such as pumps, valves, cylinders, motors, and solenoids.
• Perform tool offset corrections and position adjustments on multi-axis automated CNC equipment.
• Maintain required repair and work logs.
• Prioritize repairs to meet efficiencies and the needs of the production plant.
• Provide routine preventative upkeep on equipment and work with production personnel to maintain and improve quality.
• Perform some fabrication.
• Work with Production personnel to maintain and improve quality.
• Adhere to all facets of safety policies and procedures, including wearing required Personal Protective Equipment.

Qualifications :

• At least 5-10 years of related work experience required
• Certification from college or technical school preferred
• Demonstrable experience may be accepted in place of credentials
• Must be able to read and follow blueprints and schematics
• Working knowledge of electrical, electronic controls, hydraulics, pneumatics, mechanical, cutting, welding, fabrication, and tooling
• Sense of urgency and self-motivation; ability to work independently
• Computer literacy with the ability to learn new computer software programs
• Excellent written and oral communication skills

We are looking for a Maintenance Manager to join our Temecula leadership team. In this role you will oversees the Plant operations from a maintenance perspective.

Responsible for management of all plant equipment, facilities and grounds. Assists and develops direct reports to achieve desired results.

Direct responsibility for all department employees to ensure proper orientations, training, development, compensation and working conditions are present.

The pay range for this opportunity is 102k - 128k, depending on experience.

Responsibilities

• Supervise Maintenance personnel
• Purchase maintenance materials and supplies
• Manage departmental budget
• Responsible for planning work time to meet all needs of the plant
• Ability to work in adverse conditions safely and ensure safety of personnel
• Actively participate on Safety Committee
• Work with Engineering to modify existing equipment for new uses
• Fabricate new equipment, install new equipment
• Assist Plant Manager with selection of equipment and plant layout
• Design and implement the preventive maintenance system
• Provide technical assistance to production department and work with production personnel to maintain and improve quality
• Reflect Milgard business values and the Milgard philosophy in all business interactions
• Ensure safety of personnel and compliance with all applicable health and safety regulations

Experience Required

• Ten (10) years of maintenance supervision required
• Four (4) year degree in engineering or related field preferred

Member of the location leadership team. Directly responsible for the overall management of the assigned department including all aspects of current operation to assure acceptable safety, housekeeping, quality, productivity, employee conduct and performance criteria are achieved.

LEVEL OF SUPERVISION :

Supervises assigned department Leads. The Production Supervisor must be able to function with minimal supervision.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED :

• Minimum three (3) to five (5) years production supervision experience.
• Prior employee management experience preferred.

EDUCATION / LICENSES / CERTIFICATION / FORMAL TRAINING :

• High School diploma or GED.
• Some college preferred.
