Job Summary and Qualifications

As an Environmental Services Associate you will be responsible for the general cleanliness of the following areas at the Medical Facilities : patient care areas, administrative areas, ancillary support areas, rest rooms, and all other areas requiring Environmental Services support.

What you will do In This Role :

  • You will perform cleaning functions in assigned areas using prescribed methods.
  • You will prepare the Environmental Service carts for assigned area.
  • You will spot clean, dust, polish, sweep, mop floors, clean fixtures, showers, commodes, and miscellaneous cleaning in assigned areas including rooms for incoming patients.
  • You will remove soiled linens and change beds with clean linens.
  • You will assist in cleaning of emergency spills observed or upon request.
  • You will apply proper infection control practices and isolation techniques.

What Qualifications You Will Need :

  • You must read, speak, and understand the English Language
  • Prior cleaning experience in an institution is desired, but not mandatory

Job Summary and Qualifications

Provides assessments, diagnosis of mental health issues, counseling and referrals for treatment and / or higher level of care to recipients and donors throughout the transplant process.

Minimum Education, Experience, Training, Required Knowledge, Skill, Abilities and Other Job-Related Characteristics :

1. Education : Masters in Social Work from an accredited school

2. Experience : 1 year LCSW

3. Employee completes initial and ongoing training and competencies as defined by service line, facility and department / unit which are specific to the needs of the patient population served (if applicable).

4. Preferred : Minimum License, Certificates, or Registrations Required :

1. Required : Must be licensed as a Clinical Social Worker with the Texas State Board of Social Work Examiners

Essential Job Functions :

1. Provides mental health screenings in hospitals, and other settings to patients have been medically referred. Reviews medical and social case histories as needed.

2. Collaborate with physicians to diagnose mental health related issues including but not limited to depression, anxiety, substance abuse concerns.

Works closely with consulting physician and clinical psychologist on challenging cases.

3. Develop an individual plan of care for patients with the healthcare team to include treatment of mental health related issues, supportive counseling, crisis intervention, psycho-education, education related to accessing healthcare services at the appropriate level of care;

preventative education, and community based resources.

4. Documents professional recommendations, care coordination interventions, and treatment plans timely and accurately to communicate to all members of the health care team.

Implements and adheres to policies to ensure patient confidentiality.

5. Facilitates referrals to other mental health professionals within program and other community based agencies with regard to clients and / or patient care.

6. Participates with the interdisciplinary team to ensure all psychological / psychosocial needs are addressed and offers recommendation for transplant / donation candidacy.

7. Acts as Clinical Supervisor for any LMSW who would like to pursue their clinical license.

Additional Job Functions :

1. Facilitates patient throughput with an ongoing focus on quality outcomes, efficient assessments and treatment plans. Tracks and trends barriers to care;

makes recommendations and develops action plans to improve processes and systems.

2. Acts as an advocate for identified needs and makes appropriate referrals; abuse and neglect, substance abuse / overdose, chronic illness, financial resources, homelessness,etc.

3. Acts as a liaison between the facility and community resources to enhance community outreach coordination; establishes and maintains resource database, educates peers and patients on resources, performs community outreach as directed.

4. Adheres to established policy and procedure and standard of care; escalates issues through the Chain of Command.

5. Supports the mission and vision of the Methodist Healthcare System. Understands and is committed to helping the Methodist Healthcare System and its associated facilities achieve its goals.

  • 6. Must learn and comply with System and facility safety policies and rules; must use appropriate safety equipment and procedures at all times;
  • must immediately report all unsafe conditions to supervisors; must be familiar with all safety features of equipment, tools or materials encompassed by job duties;

and must check with supervisors (prior to job performance) if there is a question as to the safe procedure to be used for any job function.

7. Adheres to the MHS Code of Conduct and demonstrates ethical behavior as expected by our patients, colleagues and the community.

Understands the personal obligation to report any activity that appears to violate applicable laws, rules regulations or the Code of Conduct itself.
