We are looking for a full-time Inside Sales Representative to support our Intelli-Hood® Division. As a small- medium-sized business in the emerging energy efficiency and renewable energy space, our goal is to grow sales each year and continue to be a national leader.

The ideal candidate will be able to provide the foundation necessary to support such growth. This position will report directly to the Associate Director of Sales.

The goal of this position is primarily to assist the Associate Director of Sales with the growth of the new construction market and to support the Business Development team.

The ideal candidate will be ready to move up to a Business Development Manager position in one to two years.

This position is responsible for field sales and will work closely with the Associate Director of Sales, Business Development Managers, Project Managers, and Application Engineers to execute the following responsibilities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities :

  • Identify prospects, qualify leads, respond to inquiries, assist with proposals and presentations, and assist Business Development Managers with sales contacts, appointments, and follow-up.
  • Create and maintain prospective / existing client records in SAP and Hubspot CRM (Customer Relationship Management)
  • Monitor new construction specifications, respond to RFP / RFQ, and track progress to purchase order delivery.
  • With support, work with consulting engineers and food service consultants on proper specification and project applications in conjunction with the Associate Director of Sales.

Develop and maintain a roster of mechanical engineering and food service consultants.

With support, work with mechanical / controls contractors and food service dealers to make sure all bidders have Melink proposals for each project.

  • Perform first-level contact with new prospects by telephone and email, qualify and assist sales team members with follow-up.
  • Study, learn, and interpret competitive methods, pricing, and tendencies.
  • Assist in the execution of Preventative Maintenance Agreement sales strategy through site identification, proposal creation, customer contact prospecting, and close of the sale.
  • Assist Business Development Managers on commercial or technical inquiries and proactively follow up on pending orders.
  • Maintain detailed records as required for inside sales coordination.
  • Assist the Melink Marketing team with targeted pre-event campaigns and regional communication programs.
  • Monitor competitor activities and other developments within the industry as necessary to support an effective long-term growth strategy.
  • Support the preparation of periodic reports showing sales volume, potential sales, and targets for proposed new construction client base expansion.
  • Become an ambassador for Melink products and services within the industry, and serve as an effective customer advocate to enhance the customer’s experience and impressions.
  • Serve as an effective liaison between the sales department and other related units.
  • Up to 25% travel possible.

Qualifications :

Bachelor's degree (BA) from a four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preference in Business Administration, Entrepreneurship, Communications, or Engineering / Industrial technologies.

  • Must possess a strong work ethic and a high level of self-accountability.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to learn construction documentation and design prints for the off-take of pertinent information.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the public.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Must have superior customer service skills (i.e., excellent written and verbal communication skills, high emotional intelligence, positive attitude, and a service leadership philosophy).
  • Proven problem-solving record desired.
  • Able to demonstrate a high level of integrity and a penchant for high quality.
  • Technical controls experience is a plus.
  • Proficient with Excel 2007, MS PowerPoint, MS Teams, and MS Word.
  • Experience with ERP (SAP) systems desired.
