The Opportunity :

Will provide a safe and secure workplace for all people on property while protecting Mattel’s assets / interests. Perform daily duties that assists warehouse production.

What Your Impact Will Be :

• Enforce Mattel Global Security Department Best Practices and adhere to US Customs Trade Partnership Against Terrorism (CTPAT) program recommendations
• Respond to all emergencies and take appropriate action
• Protect the Distribution Center from theft, vandalism, fire and / or unauthorized access
• Perform administrative data entry duties for inbound and outbound tractor trailers or vehicles
• Screen people entering / exiting through the employee entrance / exit areas to ensure authorized entry
• Report security / safety incidents to Shift Supervisors or the Site Supervisor to ensure proper documentation and follow-up
• Drive a Mattel fleet vehicle or golf cart throughout the Mattel distribution center and satellite warehouse location (where applicable) to deter any type of activity that would negatively impact the business
• Provide a high level of customer service to all Mattel employees, vendors, and visitors on property
• Additional responsibilities may be requested based on business needs at your location
• Perform daily, weekly, monthly, and annual inspections to maintain safety standards
• Learn and understand distribution center policies and procedures
• Understand and perform all duties of the security officer role

What We’re Looking For :

• One or more years of experience working as a Security Officer in a corporate, warehouse, law enforcement, or military environment is preferred
• High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED); one year related experience and / or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• CPR certification desired
• Valid Driver’s License is required while employed as a Security Officer to drive Mattel fleet vehicles and fulfill the expectation of the job
• Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business policies, professional journals, technical procedures or governmental regulations
• Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals including detailed incident reports writing
• Effective verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from employees, clients, customers, and the general public.
• Basic math skills
• Basic computer knowledge (Word, internet and email)
• Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
• Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, and diagram or schedule form
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time
• Ability to lift and / or move up to 50 pounds
• Must be willing to rotate shifts based on business need
• Must have reliable transportation to and from the SBDC
• Ability to take initiative and make sound decisions
• Must be able to properly respond in stressful situations and deescalate when needed

The base hourly rate for this position is $17.50

This range is indicative of projected hiring range, however base hourly rate will be determined based on a candidate’s work location, skills and experience

The Opportunity :

Moves trailers in Shipping and Receiving yards. Drives product to and from other locations as needed.

What Your Impact Will Be :

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty and responsibility satisfactorily with or without reasonable accommodations.

• Move loaded and empty trailers to and from receiving dock doors. Spots empty trailers to shipping dock doors for outbound loads.
• Move product to and from other locations as needed.
• Use computer system to update trailer movement and status in yard.
• Maintain daily logs and documentation.
• Examine and maintain equipment on a daily basis.
• Maintain a safe driving record and minimal property damage.
• Ensure the accurate and safe movement of equipment in the yard. Safely maneuver trailers into and out of tight spaces.
• Complete tasks accurately and within the allotted time.
• Ensure trailers are properly and securely in position for unloading. This includes cutting seals, opening trailer doors, and applying chalks, physically verifies trailers are empty prior to removing from dock door, change trailers status from full to empty.
• Climb in and out of tractor trailer
• Hook and unhook trailers from tractor trailer
• Other tasks as assigned.

Approximate time spent on tasks :

driving 85%, maintenance 5%, maintaining records / documentation 5%, other 5%

What We’re Looking For :

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Possess or able to acquire a class A commercial driver’s license
• Possess or able to acquire and maintain a fork lift certification
• Complete and pass required training

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

• Able to read, write, and communicate in English
• Abel to read serial numbers, sku’s, and numbers and letters on seals. Able to match numbers and letters on seals to paperwork and vice versa.
• Able to understand and follow written and oral direction
• Able to perform basic math skills such as add, subtract, multiply, and divide
• Able to make sound decisions and judgments concerning vehicle operation and safety
• Able to work independently and at a fast pace

The Team : The Dishwasher is part of the American Girl Retail team.

The Opportunity : American Girl is looking for dynamic individuals who are upbeat, positive and can effectively multi-task to join our Bistro team as a Dishwasher.

If you have an affinity for maintaining cleanliness and sanitary standards in a high-pressure, fast-paced restaurant kitchen environment, we want to hear from you.

What Your Impact Will Be :

• Ensure all dishes, glassware, utensils, pots and pans are clean and sanitary according to health code standards.
• Maintain cleanliness of kitchen and dining room area, equipment and tools, including floor sweeping, removal of garbage, and mopping / scrubbing / sanitizing all surfaces.
• Assist with side work assignments such as stock rotation and replenishment, proper food storage and cleaning, and station set-up and take-down.
• Works collaboratively with the team to build a positive work environment.

What We’re Looking For :

• High School diploma or equivalent and a certification for an accredited or recognized culinary school, college, or comparable institution, preferred.
• ServSafe certification, preferred.
• Restaurant experience, especially as a dishwasher, preferred.
• Ability to perform diverse physical tasks, including constant standing and walking, heavy lifting (30-50 lbs.), etc.
• Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends and holidays.

The Team : The Server is part of the American Girl Retail Team

The Opportunity :

American Girl is looking for dynamic individuals as Servers to deliver food and beverages and provide an outstanding dining experience to our Bistro guests.

If you thrive in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment while remaining positive and upbeat, have exceptional communication skills, and can handle customer issues and requests graciously and on a timely basis, we want to hear from you.

What Your Impact Will Be :

• Attentively greet all customers upon arrival and inform guests of food and beverage options. Share information on store and restaurant events with guests.
• Demonstrate working knowledge of all menu items and ingredients and suggest menu items for those guests with food allergies.
• Consistently address customer concerns and special requests in a professional and timely manner.
• Execute all aspects of food and beverage service efficiently, including suggestive upselling, timely delivery of food and beverage orders, checking and maintaining tables throughout the seating, and preparing, delivering and processing table checks through the Infogenesis register system.
• Follow food and workplace safety guidelines and understand local and state health sanitation laws.
• Contribute to a positive, cooperative work environment by assisting co-workers and helping the restaurant team with parties, storewide events, and projects.

What We’re Looking For :

• High school degree or equivalent, and undergraduate education, preferred.
• ServSafe certification, preferred.
• One to two years of experience in a high volume and / or fine dining restaurant, preferred.
• Banquet or catering experience is a plus.
• Experience working with children, preferred.
• Ease of use with restaurant computer systems, preferred.
• Physically demanding position; strength, mobility and dexterity needed. You must be able to carry a serving tray / beverage tray and be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends and holidays.

The Team : The Part-Time Visual Merchandiser position is part of the American Girl New York City retail store team.

The Opportunity : The American Girl New York City retail store is seeking a dynamic individual for the Part-Time Visual Merchandiser position.

This position will be responsible for new product launches and initiatives, seasonal floor sets, changes to floor due to product availability, daily maintenance of product displays, and adherence to the organization's visual high standards.

What Your Impact Will Be :

• Assist visual merchandising manager in the execution of display window changes, merchandise changes and planogram layouts, and graphic changes.
• Create dynamic displays using dolls and complementary product. Keep current on product knowledge.
• Demonstrate flexibility in prioritizing tasks based on business need and to troubleshoot when product availability becomes an issue.
• Maintain the overall visual and merchandising standards of the store consistent with the organization's vision of the brand.
• Develop and maintain positive, cooperative relationships with staff, management, and corporate partners. Provide assistance to customers as needed.
• Stock merchandise when needed.

What We’re Looking For :

• 1 - 2 years of successful work experience in retail merchandising, retail, or related field which includes expertise in customer service, preferred.
• Knowledge of general visual principles required with a strong emphasis on construction and detail.
• Manual skills in doll styling, straight blade cutting, and minor assembly, preferred.
• Ability to work independently and quickly within a team setting
• Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds
• Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including early mornings, late nights, weekends and holidays.

The hourly rate for this position is between $19.50 - $23.50.*

Hourly rate is based on a candidate’s education, skills and experience.
