Bartender

A bartender is responsible for providing a positive and friendly guest experience by interacting with patrons while satisfying their beverage needs.
An understanding of mixing beverages using an extensive range of ingredients including liquor, bitters, soda, water, sugar, and fruits is an integral part of the job.
Taking beverage orders from customers and wait staff and serving drinks as requested, paying extreme attention to detail is vitally important to the success of the restaurant.
Our bartenders provide friendly and exemplary service to each guest who comes up to the bar. Our bars also operate as a service bar for our restaurants, so keen time-management skills and focus are required to be able to fulfill orders from both the bar and the restaurant.
Specific expectations of the bartender include being able to quickly and accurately prepare drinks for restaurant and bar guests;
possess knowledge of all food and drink served; keep the bar clean and stocked; maintain an accurate cash register and be able to account for all cash and charge receipts.
Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
Compensation amounts listed do not include tips. With tips, wages are typically upwards of $30 / hour.
Job Duties
- Balancing cash receipts
- Keeping a well-stocked bar with an adequate supply of liquor, beer, wine, mixers, ice, napkins, straws, glassware, and other accessories
- Cleaning the bar, tables, chairs, and work area to maintain a sanitary environment
- Organizing the bar area to streamline drink preparation and inventory
- Placing orders for liquor, beer, wine, and other supplies
- Slicing, pitting, and preparing fruit garnishes for drinks
- Planning bar menus
- Creating unique drinks
- Preparing and serving appetizers, snacks, or other food items for customers at the bar
- Complying with all food and beverage regulations
- Limiting customer problems by restricting alcohol intake and attempting to curtail inappropriate behavior
- Checking identification to verify legal age requirements for all customers
- Satisfying patron requests in a timely manner.

Required : Must be 18 years of age or older. Must have (or be in the process of obtaining) a valid alcohol serving permit (specific permit will vary by state).
Previous bartending experience and knowledge of bartending equipment and practices. Must be able to meet the physical demands of the position (lifting up to 50 lbs, standing for up to 8 hours, etc).
Basic arithmetic skills and previous cash handling experience. Must be able to work as part of a team, and get along well with guests and coworkers.
Must be able to uphold company standards relating to appearance and dress.
Preferred : High school diploma or GED.
PHYSICAL, MENTAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS :
Must be able to maneuver to all areas of the restaurant. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. Must have a manual dexterity and coordination to operate restaurant and office equipment and machines.

Sous Chef

The Sous Chef is the culinary chef located just below the executive or head chef; thus as second-in-command, he / she has a large amount of responsibility in the kitchen.
The Sous Chef is responsible for planning and directing food preparation in kitchens. This involves a large degree of supervising other kitchen staff, as well as keeping an eye out for problems that arise in the kitchen and seizing control of a situation at a moment’s notice.
Job Duties
- Work with the executive chef to produce diversified menus in accordance with the restaurant’s policy and vision
- Come up with new dishes which appeal to the clients, whenever required
- Establish the working schedule and organize the work in the kitchen so that everything works like a well-oiled machine
- Produce high quality dishes that follow up the established menu and level up to location’s standards, as well as to clients’ requirements
- Plan the food design in order to create a perfect match between the dish’s aspect and its taste
- Train the auxiliary kitchen staff in order to provide best results in minimum time and using at the maximum the available resources
- Maintain order and discipline in the kitchen during working hours
- Create tasting menus for clients interested in contracting the food for different events (wedding, banquets, corporate dinners, birthday parties, etc.) from their kitchen

Marketing Manager Job Description
QED Hospitality’s Marketing Manager will be responsible for assisting with our Nashville outlets’ media relations efforts, external and internal communications, marketing collateral design, advertising efforts, and new media campaigns.
Position will also manage the social media strategy and execution, as well as programming efforts. Must be comfortable and confident interacting with restaurant staff members, members of the media, local influencers as needed, and should be able to communicate in an articulate manner both verbally and in writing.
Assists with managing day-to-day PR, marketing, advertising and administrative activities working toward overall objectives of generating awareness, demand, and revenue for Marsh House, LA Jackson and Killebrew.
Works closely with and reports to the Director of Food & Beverage, as well as all outlet GMs, to develop and book appropriate programming, for the sole purposes of driving revenue and exposure for outlets and property.
Will work with an outsourced PR company to participate in any media pushes and campaigns. Must be able to act as a good representative of QED Hospitality and establish relationships with local tastemakers, social influencers, etc.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to :
Media Relations :
- Field media requests and disseminating necessary information to all involved parties (chefs, managers, etc)
- Coordinate film and photography shoots at any given outlet
- Keep press kits and press materials updated and organized
- Monitor relevant local and national hospitality news to share with team
- Coordination of media visits; process reservations, transfers, dining reservations, etc.
Communications / Marketing :
- Assist with develop / strengthening QED’s online presence via SEO usage and consistent media pushes
- Lead efforts in securing media content from all outlets (bar / restaurant photoshoots, self-curated content, etc.)
- Brainstorm story ideas and content for target social media channels
- Manage social presence via FacebookBusiness, including Instagram photo galleries
- Updates to and writing content for Marsh House, LA Jackson, and Killebrew websites
- Manage e-marketing distribution lists (eblasts, enewsletters)
- Monitor and provide reports / insight on social interactions (exposure rates, site visits, etc.)
- Responding to guest reviews upon necessity via Yelp, Trip Advisor, Google Business, etc.
Administrative
- Work with PR agency of record to capture, save and organize press clips on daily basis
- Organize and process invoices from marketing partners; keeping track of timely payment, budget and media plans
- Produce and distribute press packets and other media materials
- Organizes and prepares materials for PR calls, marketing meetings, etc.
Programming :
- Responsible for coordinating programming efforts to create and manage a calendar of events for 90 days, including all activations and programming for Marsh House, LA Jackson and Killebrew.
- Works closely with the manager of each outlet to execute all events and programming.
- Develop and maintain a database of local influencers, bloggers, etc.
- Promote all programming on social channels.
- Liaise with marketing and PR colleagues to promote the event.
Qualifications :
The successful candidate will be self-motivated, detail-oriented, energetic, and highly organized. The candidate should be willing to cooperate with all restaurant management and staff when gathering information to be published.
A drive to represent our spaces in a positive light and reflect our core values is appreciated.
The candidate should have an interest in social media, marketing and communications, and must be a skilled verbal communicator and writer.
Strong web research skills, a familiarity with major media outlets, and proficiency with Google Workspace are mandatory.
Basic design capabilities (Microsoft Word, Adobe Acrobat, Photoshop, Indesign etc.) and web design skills are preferred but not required.
Proficiency in GoogleBusiness and Facebook Business Suite are required.
Standard schedule is Monday Friday, however, candidates must be willing and available to work the occasional weekend or holidays, as needed.
Required : College degree is required, preferably relating to some area of marketing or communications. Must have flexible availability, as restaurants and bars are open when many businesses are not.
Preferred : Minimum of 2-3 years of relevant work experience; minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar position is preferred.
