Manufacturing Engineer
Dover Precision Components is hiring a Manufacturing Engineer for our Cook Compression brand, located at our state-of-the-art Houston facility (southside, near Pearland).
We offer competitive pay and benefits and the ability to be a key contributor to engineering and manufacturing teams. The Manufacturing Engineer will be responsible for the process optimization of technical manufacturing operations (machining, material movement, etc.
process change management, 5S, standard work instruction creation, auditing, and the capacity planning of one of the five value streams producing one or more of our products.
The qualified candidate will have manufacturing process improvement experience, and thoroughly understand fundamental lean manufacturing principles.
The Manufacturing Engineer also performs a variety of technical and detail-orientated roles as related to the Health, Safety and Environmental policies of the Company.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Work with the Operations team to make operational adjustments as necessary, to ensure continued growth in productivity and efficiency, by reviewing KPIs, daily.
- Under general direction, plan and implement the layouts of the plant, and production equipment to provide the maximum utilization of facilities, and the efficiency of production.
- Apply lean principles to optimize work / process flow, to include reducing machine set-up and changeover times (SMED).
- Investigate and implement new technologies to digitalize and automate product manufacturing and machine connectivity within the plant.
- Implement the digital factory process across the site, and across other sites.
- Leverage the company’s ERP system (Syteline) to analyze manufacturing data.
- Document standard work, including creation of work instructions, recording, and analyzing cycle times, and value stream mapping.
- Initiate and lead Kaizen events.
- Initiate and lead manufacturing improvement projects.
- Author formal requests for capital expenditures.
- Positively influence personnel during process changes, and successfully manage that change.
- Other necessary task as defined by the Manufacturing Engineering manager.
WHAT YOU’LL BRING
- Bachelor’s degree in industrial or manufacturing engineering or related discipline.
- CAD experience required, including 2D and 3D. Additional technologies preferred : CAM and Visual Basic for Applications (VBA).
- Preferred experience to include 3+ years manufacturing experience, preferably with CNC, compression molding and / or injection molding industry background.
- Practical knowledge of continuous improvement practices, formal problem solving (Ishikawa Diagram, A3, 5 Why, etc,), and lean manufacturing principles.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools to create spreadsheets, standard work instructions, and other documents.
- Experience in successfully leading projects and working on cross- functional teams.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Production Planner
Dover Precision Components is hiring a Production Planner for our Cook Compression brand, located at our state-of-the-art Houston facility (southside, near Pearland).
We offer competitive pay and benefits and the ability to be a key contributor on the supply chain and production teams.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Create and manage the production plan, utilizing MS Excel, by interfacing with various cross-functional departments to meet customer demands and advise on delays / issues
- Analyze the forecast and manufacturing capacity constraints to determine potential for smoothing the production plan
- Release materials needed on orders from stock room or staging areas
- Keep abreast of order flow throughout shop and adjust schedules and routings as required to meet delivery schedules
- Work with open order report to ensure schedules are maintained and communicate when changes occur with other interested parties
- Print, assemble, and deliver job packets to designated value stream
- Closing job orders daily for assigned value stream
WHAT YOU’LL BRING
- 2+ years of production or demand planning, supply chain, or related experience within fast-paced, manufacturing environment
- Degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, or related area, or equivalent work experience
- Strong MS Excel skills, including V-lookups and Pivot Tables; experience utilizing Excel for production planning preferred
- Excellent communication skills
- Strong motivation and sense of urgency- should enjoy working in a fast past environment, with excellent prioritization and organizational skills
- ERP experience; Sytline experience preferred
- Mechanical aptitude to learn the technical nature of Cook Compression
- Able to work closely with the buyer to ensure product lead times are met
- Must be extremely flexible to adjust to continually changing demands and shifting priorities

Welder

This position reports to the Production Supervisor and has responsibilities for the fabrication operations as listed and required in the essential duties and responsibilities section.
Essential Responsibilities :
- Must have successfully passed required tests including, but not limited to : a) FLAW (Fluxcore), b) SMAW (Stick), c) GMAW (Mig).
- Lays out, fits and welds fabricated, cast and forged components to assemble structural forms such as machinery frames, tanks, pressure vessels, winch parts, post driver parts, according to blueprints and knowledge of welding and metallurgy.
- Selects equipment and plans layout, assembly and welding applying knowledge of geometry, physical properties of metal machining weld shrinkage and welding techniques.
- Sets up equipment and welds parts, using arc, gas-shielded arc, submerged arc, or gas welding equipment.
- Required to maintain accurate and timely transactions in the ERP system.
- Performs related tasks, such as thermal cutting and grinding.
- Have a thorough knowledge & experience in blueprint reading, use of welding tools, welding techniques, layout & fit up.
- May train other employees and help in other departments as required.
Qualifications / Requirements :
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) or successful completion of a vocational welding school; one to four years related experience in welding of products, pieces and parts similar to those found in TWG’s product line and market segment;
or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must have successfully completed all required tests and certifications.
Must be able to travel as required and / or directed.
