Job Overview
The Seasonal Balloon Fabricator will work as a crewmember of the Studio Balloon team building and maintaining balloons for the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade and other company events.
Essential Functions :
- Work in balloon production, building Giant character balloons
- Acts as a crewmember for installations and inflations
- Inflate, Repair, test, paint and maintain Balloons
- Collaborates with Macy’s staff on methods of project planning and implementation
- Performs other tasks and duties as assigned by Balloon Studio Manager
- Travel may be required
Qualifications / Experience
- Must be able to do precise work by hand in varying scales
- Must be able to read scale drawings and basic inflation instructions
- Knowledge and experience in sewing and patterning a plus
- Knowledge in ballooning, flight dynamics and general aerodynamics preferred

Job Overview
The Seasonal Scenic Painter will utilize his / her skills as a painter to work on floats for the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade and other studio projects.
Essential Functions :
- Works as a painter, finish and scenic, on floats and other studio projects
- Acts as a crewmember on installations, set ups and take downs
- Acts as a team member for parade set up and other events as needed
- Collaborates with design studio manager and production manager on methods of project finishing and painting
- Performs other tasks and duties as assigned by director and / or production manager
Qualifications :
Education / Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in related field or equivalent experience in scenic production
- Must be fully skilled in scenic painting, creative painting, finishing methods and techniques
- Must have the ability to mix and match to Pantone colors
- Experience in theater sets, construction, or display shop a plus
