Sales Representative

S. Walker is seeking an experienced, polished professional as our Sales Representative (Manhattan / Brooklyn / Queens) to take his or her career to the next level.

Responsibilities :

  • Strategize with sales manager on monthly sales and merchandising objectives; Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales growth in line with stated overall sales goals
  • Call on accounts and cover daily routes by creating an established and efficient routing pattern
  • Develop new business and maintain existing Customer and trade relationships; Analyze account base to identify opportunities and discuss product needs through a relationship-based approach
  • Ensure maximum brand visibility within accounts by maintaining account account KPIs as determined by management and using effective and current point of sale materials when appropriate
  • Hold weekly in-person review with each customer account for items to be replenished; Present all current programs, goal items, and company initiatives;

Quote prices, answer customer questions about products, and emphasize product features

  • Prepare and deliver professional sales presentations to customers by balancing the company’s priorities and customer’s needs to include selling displays, merchandising, menu concepts, new products, well and back bar placements, drink and wine lists, and in location promotions
  • Maintain customer records, prepare sales materials, and submit orders for processing; Communicate with Management on all sales opportunities / concerns, inventory levels and out of stock situations due to possible fluctuations in demand;

work with national account team for program compliance

  • Collaborate with colleagues to exchange information, such as selling strategies or marketing information
  • Stay current and maintain a comprehensive knowledge of wine varietals and international wines in addition to all M. S. Walker products, including current prices, vintages, regional identity, awards and press- establish personal industry networks.
  • Educate customer and account staff on priority brands by administering educational staff training seminars
  • Remains informed of company / supplier activities and updates by attending and actively participating in weekly sales meetings
  • Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed

Requirements

  • Successful completion of a customized, paid 3-4 week in field training and immersion to learn MSW sales process
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in fine-wine wholesale distribution and / or importing, specifically in the Manhattan / Brooklyn / Queens areas
  • Superior wine and spirits knowledge combined with a commitment to continuous improvement in all facets of our business.
  • Effective self-management skills, specifically time management and territory call planning
  • Goal oriented; strong work ethic; positive mental attitude; team player
  • Outstanding relationship building and selling skills a must
  • Excellent organization, follow-up, and communication skills
  • Existing account relationships in the New York City area
  • Ability to walk, sit, stand, reach overhead and lift up to 45lbs
  • Valid driver’s license required
  • Industry References (at least three)

Salary :

The salary is commission based with an earnings range of $50-200K

S. Walker Brands Mexican Spirits Portfolio. If you're a natural and charismatic storyteller, possess credibility with the on-trade, and have a passion for sharing cocktailing tales with others we'd be interested in connecting with you.

Responsibilities :

  • Cultivate and curate MSWB partner accounts
  • Make new retail and on-premise volume placements
  • Selling in and merchandising retail displays in existing and new retailers
  • Activate brand cocktail strategy at retail
  • Achieve competitive brand adjacencies at retail for existing and new placements
  • Achieve in service volume cocktail placements in the on-premise channel
  • Merchandise current and new placements with the most up to date point of sale materials
  • Follow up to train staff on features and benefits of the brands
  • Conduct consumer events, seminars and tastings in key accounts
  • Educate trade and distributor / broker partners on benefits of the MS Walker Brands Spirits Portfolio
  • Contribute to social media content that documents the brand’s impact in the regional community
  • Support and work with sales teams at distributor in the market, at meetings, and events
  • Support retail, on-trade and consumer shows as required; attend the brand's booth at fests and other events in core markets
  • Provide monthly recaps of all activities, and report market trends

Requirements

  • Deep knowledge of Mexican and craft spirits category from production process to trends and brands
  • Strong relationships in both the independent off and on-premise channels
  • Experience as a bartender strongly preferred
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including writing and delivering presentations
  • Deadline-oriented self-starter who is proactive and holds self to high standard of work quality
  • Ability to interface with the distributor personnel
  • Strong and active social media presence
  • Works well independently and is a problem solver
  • Preferred to be bilingual in both English and Spanish
  • Ability to travel throughout territory is required
