You have :
- Experience in designing HVAC systems and controls for commercial buildings, including performing load calculations, energy analysis, equipment selection, and layout.
- The ability to analyze system operational data and make recommendations for improving system performance. Are bale to provide technical leadership.
- Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or closely related field.
- Professional Engineer desired.
- Experience in writing specifications and fee estimating, design / build and field experience are desirable.
- Candidates must have excellent communication skills and have a working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Revit.

NAIK Consulting Group is hiring a Senior Mechanical Engineer with an opportunity to experience a varied array of projects which include large infrastructure, ground, underground, rail, and transit projects throughout the New York Area.
This individual will function as Lead Mechanical Engineer on projects, responsible for all aspects of mechanical, plumbing, and fire protection design, ranging from : field surveys, calculations, computer-aided drafting (CAD), equipment selection, coordination with trades, maintaining client standards, and relations, and other fundamentals of engineering and business.
You Will :
- Coordinates the review of the scope of work between engineering teams.
- Designs various mechanical, plumbing and fire protection systems.
- Interacts and collaborates on cross-functional teams across multiple disciplines
- Performs shop drawing review, contractor relations, and site surveys
- Monitors and manages costs including procurements, labor, and other costs against the project budget. Reports progress as required to record the advancement of the project.
- Develops reports and design documents, including floor plans, schematic diagrams, load calculations, controls, details, and specifications for the project.
- Engages in the development of a design through sketches, electronic models, diagrams, and other visual formats
- Utilizes technologies in the development of three-dimensional models of mechanical systems and provides markups for junior engineers
- Leads project coordination meetings with clients, state and city agencies, utility service representatives, internal team members and / or external consultants, owner and contractor, subcontractors, and vendors
- Participates in client project requirement meetings, value analysis, and basic cost estimating
- Participates in the full project cycle, planning phase through construction close-out
- Develops and manage the project scope, budget, staffing, and schedule
- Leads the preparation and coordination of the project specifications with construction documents
- Conducts quality assurance and quality control on own projects and projects of peers
- Assists in the development of new standards and specifications for the electrical group
- Assists with the development of proposals for smaller, less complex projects
- Oversees and manages multiple projects
- Participates in constructability review
- Leads one or more teams through all phases of project document production
- Checks the work of others for accuracy and completeness and manages time to meet project budget and schedule
- Participates and collaborates in a project team setting and engages in creative and critical thought
- Visits project sites, record construction progress / existing conditions, and attend testing events
- Applies codes and standards which regulate and guide the industry
- Assemble contract documents

You Have :
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in electrical engineering and design
- Licensed Professional Engineer (PE)
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, MicroStation, and Microsoft Word
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and presentation abilities in internal project settings with senior management team, external project stakeholders including senior client management leadership
- Excellent interpersonal skills and staff supervision
- Requisite knowledge, interpretation, and application of Building Codes
- Strong understanding of all phases of project document production and the relationship between drawings and specifications
- Strong knowledge of mechanical, plumbing, and fire protection systems, means, methods, materials, and industry standards
- Advanced understanding of mechanical engineering concepts and ability to communicate ideas to others
- Practical field experience (survey, start-up, commissioning, maintenance)
