This position is remote but may require travel to a client site in Washington, DC (Georgetown)*
Responsibilities
As a Data Engineer you will help develop and deploy technical solutions to solve our customers’ hardest problems, using various platforms to integrate data, transform insights, and build first-class applications for operational decisions.
You will leverage everything around you : core customer products, open source technologies (e.g. GHE), and anything you and your team can build to drive real impact.
In this role, you work with customers around the globe, where you gain rare insight into the world’s most important industries and institutions.
Each mission presents different challenges, from the regulatory environment to the nature of the data to the user population.
You will work to accommodate all aspects of an environment to drive real technical outcomes for our customers.
Core Responsibilities
- Setup transfers of data feeds from source systems into location accessible to Foundry and integrate with existing data utilizing enterprise architecture best practices
- Debug issues related to delayed or missing data feeds
- Monitor build progress and debug build problems in conjunction with deployment teams
- Using Foundry’s application development framework to design applications that address operational questions
- Rapid development and iteration cycles with SME’s including testing and troubleshooting application issues
- Executing requests for information (RFI’s) surrounding the platform’s data footprint
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in data science, mathematics, statistics, economics, computer science, engineering, or a related business or quantitative discipline (Master’s degree preferred)
- Preferred : Interim or Active DoD Secret clearance.
- Strong engineering background, preferably in fields such as Computer Science, Mathematics, Software Engineering, Physics, or Data Science.
- Proficiency with programming languages such as Python (Pyspark, Pandas) SQL, R, JavaScript, or similar languages.
- Working knowledge of databases and SQL; preferred qualifications include linking analytic and data visualization products to database connections
- At least 9 years of experience in the field
- Ability to work effectively in teams of technical and non-technical individuals.
- Skill and comfort working in a rapidly changing environment with dynamic objectives and iteration with users.
- Demonstrated ability to continuously learn, work independently, and make decisions with minimal supervision.
- Proven track-record of strong customer communications including feedback gathering, execution updates, and troubleshooting.

This position will serve as a field construction quality assurance (QA) representative responsible for assisting the Border Infrastructure Team within the Customs and Border Protection (CBP) Agency in the execution, surveillance, and construction of the borderwall in the United States.
The construction QA representative shall have experience in construction oversight execution, controlling and closing of projects.
A background in construction management is required. The candidate shall have strong communication skills, a demonstrated ability to deliver innovative solutions and possess the skill of creative problem solving .
This is a full-time, temporary position lasting 12-18 months.
Responsibilities
Representative responsibilities include :
- Maintains surveillance, on a day-to-day basis, over the full range of field engineering activities associated with specific phases of a major military construction project.
- Provide expertise and guidance concerning safety and quality assurance. Ensures adherence to safety regulations in day-to-day construction activities.
- Reviews contractor's proposed working schedules for logic, adequacy, and to determine construction schedules will be met.
- Reviews contractor's payment estimate submittals, progress measurement data, and reports of materials and equipment used.
- Prepares daily report of activities which includes instruction to contractor representative, quantities of pay items placed, weather conditions, progress of construction, reasons for delay and any unusual problems encountered.
- Provides expertise and guidance concerning safety and quality assurance to all sections and personnel under the purview of the area office.
- Ensure compliance with environmental Best Management Practices per the contract.
- Supports project related outreach efforts as required.
- Supports construction oversight manager and Government COR as directed in support of construction execution.
- Analyze problems and reviews and interprets the requirement of plans and specifications.
- Monitors the layout of work and inspection of all work in progress.
Qualifications
- 3 years of Commerical / Military / Government Construction Oversight, Quality Assurance or Control Expereince.
- Preferred 5 years of specialized experience including surveillance, monitoring and controlling construction of all types to ensure compliance with contract documents and to ensure proper construction materials and techniques, reviewing construction technical data for progress reports, preparing data for processing of pay estimates for construction projects, and enforcing construction industry and safety standards on construction projects.
- Experience in one or more of the following areas : Construction managementInfrastructure maintenance and or repair experienceQuality Assurance / Quality Control
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and SharePoint.
- Ability to communicate clearly with a variety of stakeholders.
- Ability to effectively solve problems.
- Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
- A true team player who maintains a positive attitude in a dynamic environment.
- Experience in managing simultaneously, multiple projects with independent schedules and budgets
- Ability to travel 25% of time
- Work location is the San Diego and Calexico CA areas
- Ability to pass a government background investigation, including financial, criminal, residential, educational, foreign affiliation, prohibited substance use, and employment verifications;
active U.S. Customs and Border Protection background investigation preferred. Please note that only U.S. citizens are eligible for a suitability determination.
