Customer Service Rep for the Tax Collections Department.
Must have customer service experience.
No Remote Available
LOCATION : 112 W Lexington, Independence, MO
Hours are : 8am -5pm M-F with 1 hour lunch & 2- 15 min breaks
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS :
Background checks are required. Must have a high school diploma or GED. Two weeks of training (attendance is mandatory every day for training).
It is important that applicant commits to work every day.
PERCENTAGE OF TIME JOB FUNCTIONS :
90% 1. Customers assisted.
10% 2. Tax records maintained.
SCOPE :
The employee in this class is responsible for assisting taxpayers in person, by phone or written correspondence with all matters involving property tax.
Enough typing is needed to be able to navigate through our tax system : typing names, addresses and accounts numbers in the tax software and retrieving the account information.
Work is done on telephones and computers. This employee reports to his / her immediate supervisor.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS : (*Required prior to employment).
- 1. Skill in oral and written communications.
- 2. Skill in communicating with the public both in person or by telephone.
- 3. Knowledge of business telephone etiquette.
- 4. Skill in using the computer for retrieving customer accounts, 10-key calculator, copier, and letter opening machine.
- 5. Knowledge of filing systems and file development techniques.
- 6. Knowledge of mathematical operations needed for computing tax bills.
- 7. Knowledge of basic algebra.
- 8. Knowledge of modern accounting theory, principles and methodology.
9. Knowledge of the geographic boundaries of Jackson County.
HUMAN RELATIONS :
Answers questions from taxpayers, in person, over the phone, and through the mail concerning taxes due, state laws and county policies regarding interest and other fees on delinquent taxes as well as deadlines for payments.
Maintains composure and pleasant disposition. If unable to help, refers to supervisor.
ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS :
Work is performed in modern office setting. Because employees in the Department of Collections work in the public view, professional work attire is required.

Education :
5+ years’ experience on similar projects in Construction Management role with a bachelor’s degree.
8+ years’ total experience with 3 years at superintendent level or above on large projects, or in construction management role on smaller projects without a bachelor’s degree.
DUTIES :
- Responsible for successful execution of the construction and start-up of the project.
- Provides leadership to the project staff and all organizations on site.
- Directs staff in the daily / weekly planning process.
- Functions as a representative for Company in all interactions involving the Owner and Contract.
- Implements Company standards and procedures, develops project specific procedures and allocates resources, and makes decisions in support of project strategies.
- Responsible for updating and completing the Construction Execution Plan.
- Reviews and refines the plan as the project progresses.
- Directs overall construction effort including coordination of erection activities, suppliers, direct hire craft labor, subcontractors, startup and testing activities, and the owner.
- Directs implementation of the Construction Processes and Procedures Manual (CPPM) and ensures requests for deviations are submitted when necessary.
- Manages overall construction and startup cost to meet established budgets.
- Reviews, analyzes, and reports monthly on project construction budget, schedule, and quality performance and takes appropriate action to return the project to plan.
- Directs implementation of established project controls processes and procedures including Installation Work Packaging (IWP) through Package Manager software tool.
- Coordinates with leadership to negotiate and implement appropriate labor agreements.
- Establishes and maintains relationships and develops a high level of trust and credibility with clients, owners, alliance partners, craft labor, subcontractors, and suppliers.
- Leads the site management team. Directs implementation of project construction Safety and Health and Loss Control procedures and is responsible for ensuring that the project meets the agreed safety targets.
- Directs implementation of project quality assurance procedures and is responsible for ensuring that the established level of quality is achieved.
- Directs implementation of project commissioning and testing plan and is responsible for ensuring that the necessary resources are provided to commissioning.
- Directs implementation of project field materials management procedures.
- Approves field purchases, equipment rentals, extra work authorizations, subcontractor progress and final payments, Company professional time sheets, and Company professional expense reimbursements.
- Directs change order management for subcontracts.
- Coordinates with project manager to identify and execute change orders to contract with owner.
- Directs the resolution of all back charges, collection of conformed to construction records, and other contract closeout activities.
- Establishes project field staffing needs and coordinates with Project Manager and construction department to staff project field office.
- Mentors project field staff, promotes internal and external team building, and maintains morale.
- Adheres to Safety, Quality, Ethical Standards, Lessons Learned, and Performance Management programs in accordance with C and P Policies, Standards, Guides, and Contractual commitments.

WHAT YOU’LL DO
- The Manager is responsible for financial leadership in a plant & HQ group. The position’s functional responsibility influences Manufacturing, Quality Assurance, Engineering Capital Projects and Materials Management through budget decisions, financial training, financial recommendations, and general business guidance
- The position is the financial point of contact with internal / external auditors
- Interact with the Plant Director, through presentations of financial plans / analyses / strategies and represents the plants position in these discussions
- In conjunction with the Plant Manager, set the appropriate financial direction ensuring the proper reflection of financial results and forecasts

- Coordinate, consolidate and generally manage the development of Financial Plans for the plant including product standards and LBE’s (Latest Best Estimates).
- Working in conjunction with Plant and Operations management, develop and implement financial and operational measurement tools focusing on continuous improvement
- Accountable for the gathering, analyzing, and interpreting accounting and financial data for the preparation and presentation of meaningful reports, and recommendations to both Plant and Division Management.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE, YOU’LL BRING
- Bachelors’ Degree : Accounting / Finance
- Working knowledge of accounting theory and generally accepted accounting principles.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in accounting areas, cost accounting, planning and analysis and manufacturing systems is desirable.

Responsible for the activities related to Manufacturing Information Technology (IT) in the across the Rapid Diagnostic Manufacturing sites.

Experience / Training Required :
Must have had prior experience with CAPA management, Quality System management, strong root cause analysis capabilities, ability to identify improvement opportunities, build business cases and drive improvement projects to resolution as agreed.
Familiarity with document management practices. Prior experience as a SQA or management of an operational team within an IT project environment.
Experience with Software Lifecycle management, IT Change Management and Controls practices, reporting and senior management-level engagement.
Understanding of infrastructure related frameworks, processes and practices (e.g. ITIL, GAMP).
Experience managing suppliers and running IT operations
