The PR and Communications Manager executes publicrelations (PR) and marketing initiatives for Company and restaurant brands witha focus on developing and implementing strategic communications plans and programsas well as content creation for both internal and external channels.
Works withDirector of PR on media relations strategy and executes proactive and reactivemedia relations for the Company and restaurants for local, regional andnational press;
and supports the content marketing strategy, includingdeveloping content and messaging.
Essential Functions
Execute PR andmarketing initiatives for Company and restaurant brands; work with Director ofPR to develop and implement media relations strategy;
execute proactive andreactive media relations for the Company and restaurants for local, regionaland national press
- Develop andimplement strategic communications plans and key messaging and act as key pointof communications between partners, chefs, operators, management and LettuceCorporate teams for restaurant openings and closings, events, crisiscommunications and more
- Work with theDirector PR to implement and execute internal communications company-wideincluding but not limited to editing and writing content from all Corporatedepartments to share with all staff
- Demonstrate tact and discretion when handlingsensitive information and maintain confidentiality
- Create, write and edit relevant,on-trend content within deadlines for Company and restaurant brands, includingbut not limited to communications, blog posts, press pitches, releases, mediakits and alerts, marketing initiatives, promotions and events and Lettucenewsletter
- Manage media strategy locally,regionally and nationally and act as media liaison including but not limited topreparing messaging and scheduling interviews, and manage and build long-termrelationships on behalf of Company with key journalists, producers and industryinfluencers across print, online, broadcast and trade media
- Support and manage PR agencies forspecified brands
- Secure and host relevant mediameals at the restaurants to build and maintain relationships with local andnational media, bloggers, and food journalists
- Work closely with Lettuce Corporateand restaurant marketing teams on all integrated campaigns and openings andcommunicate goals and initiatives to ensure divisional marketing messagingintegrates with Lettuce brands
- Identify communication goals thatsupport overall content marketing / PR goals, develop strategy to meet thosegoals and communicate goals and business objectives to restaurant marketingteams to implement and ensure all restaurant marketing efforts tie back to theoverall Lettuce brand
- Communicate partner goals,restaurant initiatives and business objectives to Corporate marketing team toensure restaurant marketing efforts tie back to overall Lettuce brand
- Collaborate with the PR, social media and emailmarketing teams on Corporate content strategy; assess effectiveness of contentacross all Corporate channels including the Lettuce blog
- Maintain and update press kits, partner / chefbios on Lettuce.com, media contact list, pressphotos and clippings and media monitoring
- Utilize new, relevant ways to promote ourrestaurants and talent as well as identify and tell the story of industry / menutrends
- Assist in event activations and restaurantopenings as requested
- Actively seek relevant partnershipsto create news-worthy promotional ideas and marketing initiatives
- Support ongoing media relationsstrategy by identifying industry-related trends to proactively pitch the press,and maintain the media lists for both national and local with support of the PRteam
- Assist in management and writing ofthe Lettuce.com blog posts and website content, including but not limited tocontent creation and strategy
- Maintain availability to work a variety of daysand events including evenings and weekends as required
- Travel occasionally overnight as needed
- Maintain proficiency and safely and effectivelyuse and operate all necessary tools, equipment, software and platformsincluding but not limited to MuckRuck and Google Analytics
- Effectively communicate in order to perform andfollow job requirements in written and spoken direction
- Multitask calmly and effectively in a busy,stressful environment
- Work in a confined, crowded space of variablelight, noise and temperature levels
- Move and lift files or office supplies weighingup to 10 pounds

- The Chef de Cuisine leads and directs back of house (BOH) operations; leads and supervises BOHteam; and ensures effective and efficient BOH operations (including but notlimited to the preparation, presentation and service of menu items) with afocus on leading the opening shift process;
- food ordering, inventory and priceupdates; recipe build maintenance; BOH systems, receiving and storage; overseeand follow-up with inspections;
and a lead role in managing the menu changeprocess.
EssentialFunctions
- Lead,direct and ensure effective and efficient BOH operations including but not limited to foodprep and cooking, ensuring adequate inventorylevels of food and supplies, and supervising the kitchen employees
- Provideguidance and leadership to hourly and management teams while fostering ourCulture of Caring
- Trackand control food cost, and purchase and order food product and supplies for therestaurant including daily product order
- Ensureproper food storage, quality and presentation standards, including temperaturecontrols
- Ensurerepair and maintenance needs are met and / or communicated to designated manager
- Partnerwith General Manager (GM) and / or designated managers / chefs to create prep liststhroughout the day; and assign production duties to BOH staff in order toensure that preparation quantities support forecasted business levels
- Performregular line checks throughout the day to ensure quality of all menu items
- Partnerwith GM and / or designated managers / chefs for daily walk-through inventory toassess maintenance needs, sanitation issues and supply levels of food and goods,and accept and inspect deliveries as needed
- MonitorBOH employee sidework and ensure BOH employees comply with allsanitation / safety guidelines and procedures
- Ensureeffective communication regarding food production and timing issues, needs, andspecial requests between front of house (FOH) and BOH
- Understandand follow the food allergy procedure and special orders / restrictions
- Reviewand maintain recipe books in partnership with designated partners, chefs and / ormanagers, and communicate menu / recipe changes to staff
- Partnerwith GM and management team to interview, hire, onboard, train, schedule,supervise and develop BOH hourly employees
- Monitor,address and document individual employee performance through on-going feedback,positive recognition, formal performance reviews, coaching and, when necessary,disciplinary action up to and including employment termination
- Maintainproficiency in job functions of all BOH positions and provide active back-upsupport when business needs require
- Monitorand ensure the restaurant and the team’s compliance with all Company andrestaurant policies and procedures as well as all legal and regulatoryrequirements (including but not limited to safety and sanitation regulations)and represent the restaurant and Company in interactions with legal andregulatory authorities
- Work avariety of days and shifts (including early mornings, late nights and weekends)at multiple sites as needed
- Travelovernight occasionally as needed
- Safelyand effectively use and operate all necessary tools, utensils, equipment andsoftware (for example, restaurant management software, knives, etc.)
- Effectivelycommunicate in order to perform and follow job requirements in written andspoken direction
