Responsibilities

Given the growth and success of the firm in Aviation, we are seeking a Project Manager in Miami with strong technical skills in aviation.

The Project Manager will provide leadership and management of a range of project types including terminals, air traffic control towers, hangars and support facilities.

The Project Manager will have excellent, management, communication and teamwork skills and can engage with the array of LEO A DALY’s resources in achieving high-performance, sustainable outcomes.

The ideal candidate is someone who enjoys taking multi-disciplined projects from beginning to end, while also leading and mentoring others.

The Project Manager will work in a collaborative team environment and provide project leadership in delivery of architecture and engineering services.

This position will report to the Market Sector Leader Aviation practice of Leo A Daly.

Project management responsibilities and technical abilities including :

  • Managing the client, consultants and team through all stages of project development
  • Planning skills including develop schedules and project plans
  • Technical skills including ability to understand and execute construction documents
  • Financial planning including fee proposals
  • Contract development and management including client and subcontractor contracts
  • Communication with all key parties
  • QA QC ensures all project deliverables go through internal check and balance processes
  • Provides feedback to the Director of Operations regarding financial progress and team performance

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required in Architecture (master’s degree preferred)
  • Licensed Architect
  • 15+ years’ experience
  • 10+ years’ experience in as a project architect with some experience in aviation projects
  • Ability to travel regularly with some international travel

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in a large, multi-office organization.
  • Excellent skills in managing and developing satisfactory relationships with clients, consultants, and other vested interests
  • LEED® Accredited or able to obtain accreditation upon selection is preferred
  • Current affiliation and / or membership with local, state or national industry organization is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Researches and identifies project-appropriate architectural requirements
  • Performs BIM modeling and detailing
  • Participates in cross-discipline discussions and coordination with multidisciplinary teammates
  • Assists to conduct site investigations and observations
  • Assists to prepare narratives, architectural graphics, design presentations, drawing and specification documents in accordance with a high degree of quality, yet with regard to project schedule and budget constraints
  • Travel for project related activities relative to existing building assessments / investigations, client meetings, or construction jobsite observations may be required
  • Attends client meetings and communicates with clients, consultants, contractors, and others during various states of project development
  • Participate in the design, selection, coordination and detailing of architectural solutions
  • Translate conceptual ideas into architectural graphics and prepare design presentations to communicate ideas to clients
  • Analyze design concept of buildings and space in 2D / 3D and create design presentations using freehand sketches, 2D / 3D modeling and rendering software
  • Assist in preparation of proposals, reports and findings
  • Assist in the production of technical drawings

Qualifications

  • 6 years experience
  • Experience hand sketching, 3D modeling and drafting
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Architecture from an accredited college or university

General Characteristics

  • Maintains knowledge of current industry trends on space, function, materials, etc.
  • Proficiency with computer software including Revit Architecture required
  • Working knowledge of Sketch-Up and Adobe Creative Suite / Bluebeam preferred
  • Time management and organization skills with the ability to become involved in and remain current on issues relating to a number of one-two projects in various stages
  • Demonstrated ability to develop awareness and begin to lead team coordination of contract documents
  • Strong graphic, verbal, and written communication skills required
  • Positive attitude and commitment to being an active participant working as part of a multi-discipline team

LEO A DALY’s Hospitality group is one of the most dynamic and expanding groups in the company, led by exceptional creative talent, and a globally recognized practice leader.

Our projects are executed across multiple studios, for both domestic and international projects.

The Project Manager is the individual responsible for directing the team to accomplish tasks, execute project deliverable on time and on budget.

They are responsible for seeing that each of the technical disciplines has a thorough understanding of the assignments, work well together and have the proper support resources to complete the project in a timely fashion.

The Project Manager, in collaboration with the Project Designer, is responsible for balancing design, schedule, and budget to exceed client expectations.

They are the primary point of contact between the firm and the client and direct the execution of the project by the project team.

Responsibilities

  • Directs and manages Hospitality Interiors projects
  • Provides leadership to the project team on assigned projects by communicating relevant information in a clear a timely fashion
  • Establishes and maintains strong client relationships as evidenced by repeat work generated and positive referrals
  • Coordinates with Global Practice Leader and Design Director for Hospitality in marketing activities , including proposal preparation, presentations / interviews, and involvement in appropriate community or industry activities
  • Coordinates with our Hospitality Marketing support team in the development of proposals
  • Performs client management tasks with the Design Director and Global Practice Leader for Hospitality
  • Assists Managing Principal and Global Practice Leader in fee negotiations
  • Selects consultants with the Global Practice Leader and Director of Design- Hospitality
  • Prepares and manages Architect / Consultant agreements
  • Prepares fee estimates and worksheets
  • Develops / prepares project schedule
  • Provides project information to accounting to aid in project setup
  • Establishes the project scope and budget with the client and ensures alignment on these two items between the client and the project team
  • Based on scope of work, fees, project schedule and construction budget (if determined), establishes and manages work plans for the LEO A DALY and consultant team to execute the work as defined in the contract
  • Monitors the team’s work progress and deliverables against plan
  • Monitors quality and profitability on assigned projects
  • Identifies changes in the project scope and requests additional services in a timely manner
  • Reviews billing and assist in collection of fees
  • Monitors performance of project team members and relation to the tasks / deliverables on projects
  • In collaboration with Project Designer, manages design process
  • Coordinates with QA / QC lead to establish and implement quality assurance and quality control procedures for projects
  • Supervises preparation of project specifications
  • Supports the office and co-workers through active mentoring, continuing education and training of team members within the discipline

Qualifications

  • 10 years’ experience (5-10 years Hospitality experience or similar preferred)
  • Degree in Interior Design or Architecture or equivalent work experience
  • Experience with international 5 star luxury and upscaled projects (Asia-PAC, MEA or Europe)
  • Knowledge of operators’ design standards, work / produce in imperial and metric units
  • Technical requirements include competency in use of design and production software (i.e., AutoCAD, Illustrator, Photoshop, etc.

proficiency with MS Office (i.e., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and Deltek Vision / Vantagepoint software

  • Must have the ability to work collaboratively with individuals throughout the organization and requires a strong team-oriented approach, as well as excellent organization and time management skills
  • Requires 25-40% travel

Preferred Qualifications :

  • 5-10 years Hospitality experience or similar preferred
  • Revit experience is a plus
