Position Overview
The Data Engineering Senior Analyst will design, deploy, and manage the organization's data architecture.
Responsibilities include but not limited to :
- Collaborate with business users and IT partners to understand requirements and analyze data needs. Document requirements and build data flow diagrams.
- Build and maintain data pipelines for populating data domains.
- Create data transformations, including data cleansing and data masking.
- Participate in Data Governance initiatives.
- Play a key role in helping Securian implement the Enterprise Data Strategy by building an Enterprise Data Store, populating it with clean and well-structured data, and participating in other key initiatives in the strategy.
Qualifications :
- Previous experience as a Data Engineer, or related field.
- 4 year degree in Computer Science or related field
- Experience with tools and concepts related to data and analytics, such as dimensional modeling, ETL, reporting tools, data warehousing, structured and unstructured data.
- ETL experience using tools such as Informatica or StreamSets
- Data validation and cleansing
- ANSI SQL Skills / Experience
- Exposure and experience with traditional and modern data architectures
- Cloud knowledge and experience AWS preferred
- Strong problem solving and analytical abilities
- Attention to detail
- Solid communication skills
- Willingness to learn
Preferred Qualifications :
- Spark / Python / Java development experience
- Report development experience - Business Objects, Tableau
- XML / XSD / DTD / JSON /
- Previous experience or knowledge of Insurance / Financial Services industry.
- Agile experience

Position Summary :
Securian Financial is looking for a Senior Analyst to join our Information Security Team! This position operates as a second line cybersecurity function, which provides oversight to the first line operational cybersecurity function to ensure protection of nonpublic data and enterprise systems.
Responsibilities include but not limited to :
- Review Data Loss Prevention (DLP) alerts to prevent data breaches or exfiltration.
- Ensure that administrator privileged access is limited to those with appropriate business justification that aligns with their roles and responsibilities.
- Ensure that only authorized users have access to specific systems based on business needs.
- Review access requests to ensure that only the bare minimum privileges necessary to complete a required task are approved.
- Oversee remediation activities for various internal and third-party assessments, such as penetration testing, information risk assessments, and other program maturity related assessments.
- Assist with development and maintenance of documented Information Security policies, standards, and controls.
- Support cross-functional services within department as needed.
- Embrace and influence a culture of continuous improvement by evaluating, collaborating, and recommending program and service improvement opportunities.
Qualifications :
- 5+ years of experience in the field of Information Security, IT, Technology Audit, or related disciplines (candidates with less experience may be considered for an entry level position of Information Security Analyst).
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to translate business requirements into security guidance aligning with standards and policy expectations.
- Familiarity with commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within the Information Security field.
- Strong communication including writing and presentation skills to communicate with technical and business audiences.
- Resourceful, self-motivated, and possess strong critical thinking skills.
- Possession or working toward achieving relevant security or risk professional qualifications (e.g., IT Infrastructure Library, CompTIA Security+, Certified Cloud Security Professional, or Open FAIR Foundation).
Preferred Qualifications :
- Familiarity with compliance mandates, security standards, and risk methodologies and taxonomies including those promoted by NIST, PCI DSS, ISO, HIPAA, NY-DFS, FAIR.
- Experience with developing and implementing Information Security policies and procedures.
- Experience with Data Loss Prevention tools and Identity Administration & Access Governance tools.
