Job Description

Instructional Delivery and Assessment :

  • Develop year-long Oklahoma standards-based unit plans and lesson plans that meet all scholars’ learning needs.
  • Use assessment data to modify short and long-term plans in order to promote all scholars ’academic performance.
  • Embrace and incorporate feedback in the spirit of constant improvement.

Academic and Cultural Support

  • Collaborate with content and grade-level teams to promote an environment of critical thinking and academic rigor.
  • Establish and maintain working relationships with scholars and families based on trust and respect.
  • Participate in the daily functions of the school such as morning, lunch, and afternoon supervisory duties.
  • Attend school events such as staff meetings, open houses, back to school nights, parent orientations, parent-teacher conferences, PTO events and various other school events.
  • Develop individualized learning plans for students and communicate these plans to families in parent meetings and conferences.
  • Meet professional obligations including timeliness and consistency in meeting deadlines.

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university
  • Demonstrated knowledge of core subject area assigned

You Should Apply If

You have previous experience as an Occupational Therapist providing support to children in grades K-8 in a school environment.

What You'll Do

  • Appraise the occupational therapy needs of students to design and implement appropriate remediation, instructional plans and strategies.
  • Analyze assessment results to drive and inform instruction and Individual Education Program development.
  • Attend and serve as a member of the IEP team to determine eligibility of students.
  • Prepare thorough and accurate reports in a timely manner.
  • Explain nature, purpose and results of assessment in an understandable manner to IEP team members.

  • Work cooperatively with classroom teachers to support students in general education classes, interpreting the abilities and disabilities of these students to the entire staff, and assisting the student’s core curriculum instructional needs.
  • Consult with, train and model scaffolding strategies to special education and general education teachers, other KIPP personnel and parents to facilitate student physical development and achievement.
  • Develop and implement training opportunities for classroom staff and parents on the role of occupational therapy, normal sensory motor development, and other topics as required.
  • Monitor and evaluate equipment and assistive technology needs for students.
  • Consult with community agencies, medical personnel, parents, and other professionals, and act as a liaison among these groups for children with physical disabilities.
  • Keep attendance records, computerized IEP records and all other records pertinent to the special education program for KIPP, district and state reports and program accountability.
  • Participate in KIPP as an active member of KIPP SoCal's special education team.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

You'll Be Qualified If You Have

  • Certification through the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT) and a current license to practice Occupational Therapy through the California Board of Occupational Therapy (CBOT) required
  • Experience providing occupational therapy services to children in school settings required
  • Knowledge of federal and state special education law and best practices for special education.
  • Bilingual (English-Spanish) preferred.
  • Demonstrated success with students from educationally underserved areas.
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage the ambiguity and multiple priorities inherent in an entrepreneurial environment.

Job Description

KIPP New Orleans is seeking a dynamic School Social Worker who will bring unique knowledge and skills to the school system and the student services team.

School Social Workers are concerned with a student’s functioning in school especially when school adjustment difficulties, poor school attendance and / or social problems impede pupil educational advancement.

The School Social Worker might serve on the Schools RTI Team and as a member of the Pupil Appraisal Team. This includes but is not limited to conducting formal and informal assessments, communicating with parents, providing behavioral interventions and connecting families with community resources.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to :

Serve as member of the in-school Student Support Services Team (SSS Team) for initial and re-evaluations.

Completes psychosocial histories as part of the student evaluation including a parent and student interview.

Completes classroom observations and teacher interviews in order to provide information on school performance and give impressions and recommendations for next steps.

Provides individual and group treatment as indicated on Individual Education Plans (IEP) and documents all clinical activity.

Writes annual IEP goals and notes monthly progress and advisory reports related to IEP goals

Documents efforts to reach non-responsive students and keeps monthly contact sheets.

Conducts functional behavioral assessments and creates behavior intervention plans (FBA / BIP) as needed for students.

Completes risk assessments for suicidal / homicidal ideation

Participates in annual IEP meetings and Manifestation Determination Hearings, as needed.

Participates on the RTI / MTSS Team and provides services and interventions as assigned including FBA / BIPs, individual counseling, parent interviews and psychosocial histories, community referrals, etc

Advises and collaborates with teachers, case managers, teams on students who exhibit behavior problems and / or failing grades.

Qualifications

Previous experience conducting formal and informal assessments, communicating with parents, providing behavioral interventions, and connecting families with community resources required

Experience working with students from a low income community highly preferred

Licensed as a Clinical Social Worker / BAS or Licensed Professional Counselor

Recognized as a School Social Work Specialist and certification as a Qualified School Social Worker and Child Welfare and Attendance Supervisor by the Louisiana State Department of Education highly preferred

Job Description

The Executive Assistant provides executive support to the Principal. Reporting to the Principal, the Executive Assistant serves as a primary point of contact for internal and external stakeholders.

The Executive Assistant organizes and coordinates executive outreach and supports special projects and initiatives. Additionally, the Executive Assistant coordinates logistics for Principal meetings and events.

The Executive Assistant will have the ability to work independently on projects, from conception to completion, and must be able to work under pressure at times to handle a wide variety of activities and confidential matters with discretion.

As a KIPP Metro Atlanta Schools' Executive Assistant your core responsibilities include :

Principal Support

  • Support the Principal as a "gatekeeper", creating and supporting systems for direct access to the Principal’s time
  • Work closely and effectively with the Principal to keep him / her well-informed of upcoming commitments and responsibilities, following up appropriately
  • Successfully complete critical aspects of deliverables with a hands-on approach, including drafting PPT presentations, acknowledgment letters, and personal correspondence
  • Support Principal with internal communications, announcements, and updates
  • Generally serve as the Principal’s liaison with external contacts managing and responding to routine communications
  • Research, prioritize, and follow up on incoming issues and concerns addressed to the Principal, including those of a sensitive or confidential nature while determining appropriate next steps
  • Coordinate all logistics related to annual meetings and Quarterly Retreats, including location, materials, technology, and food
  • Provide support for other projects and tasks as requested by the Principal

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree required
  • Minimum 5 years full-time related experience supporting C-Level Executives, preferably in a non-profit organization
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook) and G-Suite (Docs, Sheets and Slides) required
