Key job responsibilities
• Develop policy and procedures for all classified information systems (Stand-alone systems/ LAN/ WAN’s).
• Ensure policies/procedures and relevant legal and regulatory requirements are established/maintained in compliance with customer requirements, that users are correctly following proper security procedures, and that all classified information systems are properly secured.
• Develop media sanitization (clearing, purging, or destroying) and reuse procedures.
• Develop and document processes, procedures, and guidelines for complying with protection requirements (e.g., e-mail labels, media labels, etc.), control procedures (e.g., discretionary access control, need-to-know sharing, etc.), incident management reporting, remote access requirements, system management and use of encryption.

Project Kuiper is an initiative to launch a constellation of Low Earth Orbit satellites that will provide low-latency, high-speed broadband connectivity to unserved and underserved communities around the world. The mission of Project Kuiper’s Government Solutions (KGS) is to leverage Kuiper and provide high speed, low latency, and secure satellite broadband services to United States and allied government customers.

We have an immediate opening for a Sr. Mission System Engineer to support the Kuiper Government Solutions (KGS) team focusing on U.S. Government customers such as NASA, DoD, and National Security. As a Sr. Mission System Engineer, you will work with technical and senior leadership across the program to ensure KGS delivers innovative satellite solutions that meet the highest engineering standards. This position will be based in in the Northern Virginia area. You will be responsible for developing strategies, documents, tools, analyses, and end products to support custom government product lines such as custom radio frequency broadband terminals, custom space-based optical crosslinks, hosted payloads, and specialized spacecraft design and integration. Sample products include end-to-end engineering solutions, systems engineering plans, interface control documentation, modeling and simulation products, and customer-centric integration and test approaches.

The Sr. Mission System Engineer will support space system integration as well as developing detailed analysis products and strategies to enable Kuiper’s use by government customers.

The ideal candidate has foundational knowledge of space system integration, data transport, network interfaces, orbital dynamics, U.S. Government satellite communication, National Security Space (NSS) systems, and DoD and Intelligence Community space programs involving proliferated LEO (P-LEO) satellites.

Key job responsibilities
This is a unique opportunity to assist in the development of a global broadband communication system to include tailored solutions for U.S. Government customers. You will work closely with the commercial satellite and consumer terminal teams to develop engineering solutions and interface controls between commercial and government systems, and perform high level analyses of system capabilities against government requirements. On a day-to-day basis, you will coordinate among teams and subcontractors to identify and solve the critical technical problems that ensure Amazon’s Project Kuiper is responsive to U.S. Government customers.

In this role you will:
• Solve complex technical problems related to improvements to the Kuiper program for government users.
• Develop top-level engineering solutions that facilitate the U.S. Government’s use of the Kuiper network.
• Draft documentation to support technical business requirements and define technical
solutions to government customer needs
• Provide technical support in the areas of Data Transport and Network interfaces
• Build satellite power, mass, and link budgets for custom satellite applications
• Create the data and analysis to enable data driven decisions.
• Act as a technical point of contact for Kuiper Government Satellite Systems with external teams, partners, and subcontractors to identify and mitigate technical risks
• Communicate clearly and effectively to peers and leadership on the plans, status, and critical issues.
• Lead integration and test activities with U.S. Government customers

• Complete trade studies for intra-team review for stakeholder buy-in
• Establish interface controls and write space and ground segment specifications at the system and sub-system level

The Sr. Business and Contracts Manager, will play a pivotal role in defining and implementing customer-oriented services for Kuiper satellite communication services serving government customers. The successful candidate will have deep understanding of satellite broadband and telecommunication services for consumer, enterprise, telecom, transportation and government customers across the globe.

Key job responsibilities
In this role, you will work directly with government customers, engineering teams, and operational stakeholders to execute and document cradle to grave contracting actions (management of Government contracts to include subcontracts and commercial contracting actions supporting core development initiatives). You will work in a collaborative, analytical, and fast-paced environment and must be comfortable interacting with highly technical cross-functional teams. The candidate must have strong business judgment, dive deep into data, and be comfortable with processing contractual actions. Candidates must be able to Multi-task different business operation tasks within Amazon, commercial industry partners, and Government customers. The best candidates will have deep understanding of prioritization and task completion.

In this role you will:
• Be responsible for development, execution, review, and sustainment of the KGS Contracting Baseline plan.
• Manage KGS prime contracts with Governments to include subcontracts.
• Support the selection and delivery of business systems to support the company in regards to financial spend, revenue, and contractual management.
• Track metrics in regards to actual contractual spend and revenue; as well as forecasted financials.
• Support proposal development for both Prime contracts and subcontract opportunities.
• Manage and execute commercial contractual actions (business-to-business) for internal core development initiatives.
• Support contract execution through developing request for proposals/quotes, negotiation positions, documenting trade-off decision for leadership, tracking contractual deliverables, and process contract close-out procedures.
• Be a business partner to Professional Services leadership team and executives, providing insights to help shape the strategy of the business
• Provide strategic guidance to area leadership teams, bringing deep knowledge of business operations best practices.
