Your Responsibilities

As a Robotic / Electrical Manufacturing Engineer for John Deere Des Moines Works located in Ankeny, IA, you will...

  • Innovate and implement cost reduction, quality, and safety / ergonomic improvement ideas of moderate scope.
  • Lead analysis, development and implementation of new manufacturing processes and technology.
  • Provide shop floor support and troubleshooting for current operations.
  • Investigate challenges, gather / analyze data, and implement solutions.

What Skills You Need

1 to 3 years of experience with manufacturing and / or distribution processes, quality, tooling, tool design, total preventable maintenance, and facilities

What Makes You Stand Out

  • 1 or more years of experience in one or more related engineering areas : industrial, production, methods, reliability, design, manufacturing, warehousing and distribution, quality
  • Experience with shop floor manufacturing, incentive pay systems such as CIPP (Continuous Improvement Pay Plan)
  • 1 or more years of experience with engineering tools such as Creo, AutoCAD, Ignition, Python, VisView, or Tableau
  • Experience with manufacturing process design, material presentation, 5S, tool design, continuous improvement, safety / ergo tactics, and quality improvement methodology
  • Experience or knowledge of Tillage
  • SAP knowledge of repetitive and discrete manufacturing

Education

Ideally you will have a degree or equivalent related work experience in the following :

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Industrial / Manufacturing / Systems, Robotic, or Electrical Engineering

Title : Embedded Security Engineer - 96722

Onsite / Remote : Onsite Position

This position is eligible for a flexible work schedule arrangement at the present time. The arrangement may be delayed for training or other job acclimation purposes and remains subject to change.

Your Responsibilities

As an Embedded Security Engineer on our Red Team in our Intelligent Solutions Group located in Des Moines, IA , you will perform vulnerability assessments and penetration testing on the technology stack used to bring automation and smart solutions to Deere vehicles. In addition, you will

  • Provide remediation strategies for vulnerabilities found.
  • Perform verification testing to ensure design changes remediate vulnerabilities.

What Skills You Need

  • Understanding of mobile operating systems, embedded systems and / or IoT devices
  • Experience with programming languages like Python, C#, C / C++
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Passion for reverse engineering and finding security vulnerabilities.

What Makes You Stand Out

  • Knowledge of Real Time Operating Systems.
  • Ability to manipulate debug interfaces (UART, JTAG, etc) and peripheral buses (SPI, I2C, etc).
  • Experience with vehicle embedded systems engineering.
  • Experience with public key encryption (PKI) in the embedded space.
  • Experience with embedded Linux and other Real Time Operating Systems (RTOS) Education.

Education

Ideally you will have a degree or equivalent related work experience in the following :

Bachelor's degree in Cyber Security / Security Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related field
