a Dishwasher / Porter! Must have OPEN AVAILABILITY .

Jean Georges brings relaxed elegance to the

West Village with Perry St, located in the Richard Meier Towers and offering

beautiful sunsets over the Hudson River. In this tranquil setting, Cedric

Vongerichten helms the kitchen, creating dishes that reflect his own keen

instinct for balancing flavor and texture with an exquisite blend of French,

American and Asian influences and ingredients.

POSITION SUMMARY

Dishwasher / Porter is responsible for cleaning dishes, equipment, and utensils

before, during and after service. In addition, the dishwasher / porter maintains

the cleanliness of the kitchen and in all outlets.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES (these are not all-inclusive) :

Wash dishes, glassware, flatware, pots, and / or

pans using industrial dishwasher or by hand

Place clean dishes, utensils, and cooking

equipment in storage areas

Stock supplies such as food and utensils in

serving stations, cupboards, refrigerators

Handle tableware carefully to prevent breakage and

loss

Sort and remove trash, placing in the designated

pickup areas

Transfer supplies and equipment between storage

and work areas, by hand or using hand trucks

Maintain kitchen work areas, equipment, and

utensils in clean and orderly condition

Maintain department cleanliness and organization,

adhere to safe work and equipment practices, and follow all food safety,

health and sanitation standards

Set up, stock stations, and replenish kitchen

inventory and supplies as needed

Follow all company policies, procedures, and

guidelines

Consistently report to scheduled shifts on time

and ready to work in proper uniform

Operate ethically to protect the assets and image

of the company

Performs other duties and responsibilities as per

business need

  • Follow sanitation policies at all times
  • Perform opening, closing and side work

KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

1-2 years experience in a high-volume, fast-paced

kitchen

Ability to think quickly and multi-task in a

fast-paced environment

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Ability to perform the essential job

functions consistently safely and successfully with the ADA, FMLA and other

federal, state, and local standards, including meeting qualitative and / or

quantitative productivity standards.

Must be able to lift and carry up to 50

lbs; Ability to stand for prolonged periods of time and climb steps regularly.

Ability to physically

maneuver through work areas; bend, lift, carry, reach / extend arms, and hands

above shoulder height frequently, or otherwise move in a constantly changing

environment.

COMPENSATION

The base pay range for this position is $16 - $18 / hr. The

determination of what a specific employee in this job classification is

paid within the range depends on a number of factors, including, but

not limited to, prior employment history / job-related knowledge, qualifications,

skills, etc.

The Host / Host ess is responsible for coordinating and managing all reservations, dining room and banquet seating, guest assistance, guest needs, and the flow of guests in and out of the restaurant.

  • Organize all reservations and guests using the most effective guest and restaurant-conscious procedures.
  • Professionally and effectively communicate with guests to ensure guest satisfaction.
  • Maintain guest relationships to promote repeat business.
  • Implement quick and efficient decisions based on guest and / or restaurant needs.
  • Provide the highest quality service to guests at all times.
  • Awareness of all guests’ needs, reservation needs, and restaurant needs at all times.
  • Create and maintain a database with local concierges.
  • Utilizing Open Table / Resy to the best of its capacities.
  • Maintain the integrity of service.

Knowledge, Experience & Skills

  • Displays a pleasant and cheerful disposition.
  • Able to communicate professionally and effectively with both guests and staff.
  • Must have basic math skills and be capable of operating department-specific software and applications.
  • Available to work late nights, holidays, and long shifts if necessary.
  • Must be able to stand and or walk for long periods of time without sitting.

Compensation

The base pay range for this position is $22.00 per hour. Responsible for method of service, production

Properly execute plated dishes with varying

Serves as the

acting Head Manager when the Executive Chef is not on the restaurant premises

Taste and review products on a daily basis to ensure quality and consistency
