Position Overview
Assist in the lay out, fit, and fabrication of metal components to assemble structural forms, such as machinery frames, skids, and pressure vessels, using knowledge of welding techniques, metallurgy, and engineering requirements.
Essential Job Functions
- Lays out, positions, and secures parts and assemblies according to specifications, using straightedge, combination square, calipers, and ruler.
- Tack-welds or welds components and assemblies, using electric, gas, arc, or other welding equipment.
- Cuts work piece, using powered saws, hand shears, or chipping knife.
- Melts lead bar, wire, or scrap to add lead to joint or to extrude melted scrap into reusable forms.
- Installs or repairs equipment, such as lead pipes, valves, floors, and tank linings.
- Observes tests on welded surfaces, such as hydrostatic, x-ray, and dimension tolerance to evaluate weld quality and conformance to specifications.
- Inspects grooves, angles, or gap allowances, using micrometer, caliper, and precision measuring instruments.
- Removes rough spots from workpieces, using portable grinder, hand file, or scraper.
- Welds components in flat, vertical, or overhead positions.
- Heats, forms, and dresses metal parts, using hand tools, torch, or arc welding equipment.
- Ignites torch and adjusts valves, amperage, or voltage to obtain desired flame or arc.
- Analyzes engineering drawings and specifications to plan layout, assembly, and welding operations.
- Develops templates and other work aids to hold and align parts.

A local construction company in the Tigard / Tualatin area is looking for a Project Manager that can plan and supervise a wide range of construction projects from start to finish.
You will organize and oversee construction procedures and ensure they are completed in a timely and efficient manner.
Supervisory Responsibilities :
- Directly supervises project engineers in the Construction Services Department.
- Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.
- Interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees;
addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Oversees each project from conception to the finished structure.
- Interfaces with both construction professionals and the client on a day-to-day basis.
- Reads blueprints, structural drawings, and plan sets.
- Microsoft Outlook; Microsoft Word; Microsoft Excel; Microsoft Project; and Bluebeam. Viewpoint and / or AIA Construction Software knowledge preferred.

Temporary Seasonal Employee - Public Works
We are seeking several Temporary Seasonal Public Works Employees to assist a city in SE Portland. This position lasts 6 months.
Applicants must be at least 18 years of age, have a valid Oregon driver's license, have a High School diploma or GED equivalent, and three favorable work-related references.
Qualified applicants will be invited to an interview, must pass a drug screen and consent to a background check. Duties include : trash collection, mowing, paving, general maintenance, maintain, drag and line softball / baseball fields, and assisting full time staff as needed.
Typical work week is a maximum of 40 hours per week, including some weekends.

- No work on Memorial Day, June 19th, July 4th, and Labor Day
- This position lasts 6 months
