Purpose

The Logistics manager is responsible for assisting the General Manager with day-to-day functions of the airport, working with the merchandise and resolving issues using a retail management system;

supervising the activities of subordinates, assigning responsibility for specified work; and performing all other responsibilities as directed by the business or as assigned by management .

Your Team is counting on you as a Logistics Manager to :

  • Provide full flexible and open availability to work any shift throughout the day (within a 24 hour period), any day of the week, including weekends & holidays
  • Work a full-time schedule at the Chicago Midway International Airport

Logistics Manager Key Accountabilities :

  • Provides excellent service to internal and external customers in receiving, processing and distributing merchandise and supplies to stores
  • Supervises day-to-day activities of subordinates
  • Assists management in covering and running shifts
  • Assists with scheduling to ensure that all shifts are covered
  • Complies with delivery schedules; accurately, timely, and efficiently processes deliveries
  • Utilizes computer to manage accurate inventory for warehouse operations
  • Assists in the transportation of orders and returns between the warehouse and stores (where applicable)
  • Identifies damaged and expired products
  • Implements product rotation based on product code dates in warehouse and concepts
  • Follows all security and safety procedures established by the Company and Branch
  • Assists in all maintenance responsibilities and activities established by the warehouse
  • Maintains fixtures and equipment storage
  • Assists with bin location upkeep and the physical inventory process
  • Assists with ticketing according to branch standards for accuracy and timeliness.
  • Reviews in-coming orders and advise Merchandise and / or Warehouse Manager of errors and questions and assist in resolutions when appropriate.
  • Ensures that information from related ordering and receiving forms are processed according to company standards and are correctly entered into the Retail Management System.
  • Updates information in the RMS as needed and produce appropriate reports.
  • Stocks, dates, rotates, and checks temperature of product
  • Assumes responsibility for effective communication, coordination, and working relationships between associates and management
  • Drives Company Vehicles

Specific Required Qualifications :

  • SAP experience is a must!!
  • Supply Chain / Logistics experience
  • 2-5 years of managerial experience in a retail / warehouse environment
  • Requires the ability to speak, read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence, and policy documents, as well as converse comfortably with subordinates.
  • Requires the ability to bend, twist, and stand to perform normal job functions
  • Requires the ability to drive a truck safely.
  • High school diploma.
  • The ability to lift and / or move up to 50 lbs.
  • Requires a valid driver’s license and meet company requirements for Safe Driving record
  • Minimum of 6 months supervisory / lead experience

  • Ensures that money is secured at all times and that excess cash is removed from the register for safekeeping.
  • Ensures that daily counts on cigarettes, phone cards, newspapers, and other items as required are conducted consistently and that any discrepancies are reported immediately to the Operations Manager.
  • Ensures that staff report to work on time, dressed in clean full uniform, including nametags.
  • Ensures all sales associates are aware of daily sales targets.
  • Ensures customers are greeted promptly and served by knowledgeable, well-trained associates.
  • Demonstrates effective management of customer queuing
  • Ensure telephones are answered in a consistent business-like manner and are used only for business-related purposes.
  • Ensures that all staff tardiness and absences are reported to management.
  • Ensures that sales associates are assigned daily duties and never congregate in the vicinity of the cash desk.
  • Ensures that staff is aware of procedural changes and / or other latest memorandums.
  • Ensures that staff are offering an up-sell / add-on sale to each customer.
  • Has an in depth knowledge of products sold and ensures replenishment and proper rotation of stock on the sales floor.
  • Ensures all damaged goods are returned to the warehouse properly tagged.
  • Ensures that housekeeping standards are maintained (i.e. dusting, folding, replacement of burnt light bulbs, sweeping, mopping).
  • Maintains an ever-vigilant theft and shoplifting awareness and enforces cash register and other policies controlling internal shrink.
  • Responsible for receiving, sorting, picking, rotating, tracking expiration dates, and following the FIFO methods for all the products that come in to the Warehouse.

Required Qualifications :

  • Minimum 1 year of retail supervisory experience
  • Consults and helps plan daily activities with General Manager / Operations Manager and other Supervisors; manages the activities of staff.
  • Provides supervision and support to store staff.
  • Works with on-site jobbers and sales representatives.
  • Leadership qualities, interactive, and approachable.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment time-management skills and multi-tasking abilities.
  • Good problem-solving skills.
  • This role requires you to be standing and walking the majority of the time
  • Able to lift 40 lbs.

Warehouse Associate Key Duties :

  • Protects all company assets in the stock area including non-stock merchandise
  • Provides a safe and clean environment for stock personnel
  • Places stock orders as required
  • Counts and receives incoming merchandise; reports shortages / overages to management in a timely manner, before required deadlines
  • Counts and completes all appropriate paperwork for merchandise returns to vendors

  • Isolates, sorts, and organizes all damaged and outdated products for subsequent supplier credits and returns
  • Organizes all merchandise for annual inventory
  • Assists in inventory and reconciliation of inventory variances
  • Notify management of out of stock merchandise
  • Assist in stocking of stores and backrooms
  • Assist in trash removal and recycling

Required Qualifications :

  • Attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy
  • Good time-management skills and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Ability to lift 60lbs
  • Ability to work in environment exposed to the elements, both hot and cold
  • Ability to communicate effectively
  • Previous stockroom or warehouse experience

Driver Key Accountabilities :
