SUMMARY :

The Account Manager manages a book of insurance business with a high degree of independent discretion, autonomy, and decision-making.

As an Account Manager it is important to provide professional and courteous service to our clients, carrier representatives, Underwriters, business partners, and HUB colleagues, resulting in a rate of account retention that meets or exceeds expectations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Responsible for overall retention of accounts and assigned book of business by partnering closely with Producers and other HUB personnel on all aspects of client service, marketing, and renewals while adhering to HUB’s best practices and standard procedures
  • Develops new business from existing accounts and assigned leads, and contributes to meeting departmental production goals.

Identifies and follows-up on cross-selling opportunities when appropriate

  • Oversees the preparation and implementation of all transactions, paperwork, and internal processing for assigned accounts.
  • Manages, organizes, and conducts client meetings when necessary and appropriately documents conversations with clients and carrier representative.

Ensures the quality and accuracy of data in all HUB computer systems and automated agency management systems and prepares reports for Management as required

  • Acquires understanding of clients’ insurance objectives and critically analyzes and compares insurance plans to determine suitability and may negotiate with Underwriters and carriers
  • Stays abreast of changes in the insurance industry and other external conditions that may impact their clients by attending industry-related continuing education training and courses
  • Acts as a consultant and makes appropriate recommendations to clients in response to industry shifts and changes independent of Manager approval
  • Acts as liaison between clients and insurance carriers to resolve escalated, complex service issues that require policy interpretation and experience-based judgment to resolve and troubleshoot claims and billing issues
  • Travels on company business as required
  • Monitors functions performed by junior-level Account Managers and Assistant Account Managers and supports, mentors and trains as necessary
  • Performs other duties and projects as assigned

REQUIREMENTS :

Minimum of 3 years of experience and demonstrated proficiency in an Insurance Account Management role in required lines.

Brokerage experience is preferred

  • Superior customer service and problem solving skills with the ability to work in a team environment
  • Excellent written and verbal English communications skills required
  • Demonstrated proficiency with computer systems, including but not limited to Microsoft Office and automated agency management systems
  • Ability to work a regular, full-time work schedule at HUB’s facility(s) and willingness to travel on business when required
  • Supervisory, project leader, mentor or team leader experience preferred

EDUCATION, LICENSING OR CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required; College Degree preferred
  • Currently licensed in good standing in required lines and states with all necessary CE credits
  • Advanced professional designation highly desirable (e.g. AAI, ARM, CIC)

POSITION SUMMARY :

In the Benefits Call Center Representative role, the successful candidate will work in a call center environment providing benefits administration and customer support services via telephone and email.

Successful candidate will act as a benefit advocate for our clients and help resolve employee benefit issues, as well as educate our clients on how to better utilize their health and insurance benefit plans by performing the following duties :

Salary :

The Client Service Agent (CSA) will provide professional, courteous service to our clients, producers, and company personnel.

With a positive attitude, the CSA will provide a high level of support in obtaining, maintaining, expanding, and servicing our commercial accounts.

Working alongside the Producers, or AE as assigned, and the CSA shall be responsible for overseeing management of assigned accounts, including redundant interface with appropriate decision makers, carrier interface / marketing, relevant collaboration with colleagues throughout HUB, and negotiation of coverage terms and conditions.

Issues related to policy processing, maintenance of client data on the Epic agency management system, routine changes (e.

g. adding a new vehicle to the policy), and other transactional or clerical work fall within the domain of the CSA.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manages a book of Property and Casualty insurance business.
  • Provides professional, courteous service to our clients, carrier representatives, underwriters, business partners, and HUB colleagues, resulting in a rate of account retention that meets or exceeds expectations
  • Provides a high level of support to our Sales staff in obtaining, maintaining, and expanding business
  • May also be responsible for account rounding and the development of new business as appropriate and in accordance with standard practices, policies, and procedures
  • Acts as liaison between clients and insurance carriers to resolve service issues. May also negotiate with underwriters and carriers.

Troubleshoots claims and billing issues.

  • Responsible for overall retention of accounts in assigned book of business
  • Develops new business from existing accounts and assigned leads and contributes to meeting departmental production goals.

Identifies and follows-up on cross-selling opportunities when appropriate

  • Produce binders, certificates, endorsements, and other related items while verifying their accuracy
  • Maintain controls on renewals and binders to ensure timely preparation and processing
  • Prepare summaries of insurance, schedules, and proposals as needed for account review
  • Remarket renewals, contact clients, create renewal proposals and handle other renewal activities in coordination with the producer
  • Assist Producers in the premium collection process and handle accounting issues
  • Refers current and prospective clients to other departments for solicitation of those lines of business
  • Assist clients with claims when necessary
  • Adhere to all Agency systems, procedures and state regulations

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Two (2) years in insurance company or agency preferred with at least one of those years in commercial lines
  • High School diploma or equivalent; AA and / or college degree desirable
  • Demonstrated proficiency with computer systems, including but not limited to Microsoft Office and automated agency management systems
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Property and Casualty Insurance License
  • Broad knowledge of insurance products and usages and ability to work independently
  • Ability to work in a positive team environment
