We are looking for an exceptional person to join our team as a Junior Data Analyst.
Converting data to information through visualization is the core responsibility of the Junior Data Analyst. They are part of the North America Strategy + Planning team, with a dotted line to the Global Head of Data & Analytics who is based in the UK.
The Junior Data Analyst works well with client teams to deliver insightful and accurate data visualizations. They are organized, thorough, and provide support on various data projects.
The Junior Data Analyst is a team member who works collaboratively with the rest of the client service and digital team to deliver quick and effective solutions.
They assist data and technology projects, support other business projects, programs, and initiatives, and know when to escalate or flag something up to leadership when the situation calls for it.
The Junior Data Analyst is always staying on top of the latest data practices and testing new tools. They are pushing internal teams and clients to adopt new processes and technology when they see an opportunity.
They will be comfortable liaising with clients and presenting within meetings and comfortable working within a remote environment and across time zones.
Activities include :
- Identifying internal and external data visualization and reporting needs, across multiple media tools, in collaboration with the Global Head of Data & Analytics, program teams, strategy + planning, and client services teams.
- Fulfilling data visualization and reporting needs across the business through the development of intuitive, engaging, insightful, and attractive dashboards and visualizations in Google Data Studio, or other data visualization tools.
Kinds of visuals will vary between internal and external data.
- Preparing data visualizations, finding additional context, and summarizing key takeaways for presentations and reports.
- Cleaning and organizing large datasets and verifying and ensuring accuracy, integrity, and consistency of data.
- Understanding and driving thought leadership across the organization about the implications of data, and interpreting data in context, including identifying trends and outliers.
- Helping with the selection and roll-out of data visualization tools and dashboards.
- Responding to ad-hoc requests for internal business information and data visualizations.
- Assisting the client service and digital team with the development of reports and system configuration and testing.
- Performing other job-related duties as assigned by the North America Strategy + Planning team and the Global Head of Data & Analytics.
- Keeping abreast of best practices in the use of technology in data visualization and evaluation and participating in relevant professional organizations for professional development.
- Helping to drive the understanding and need to push data into insights for new business and client work.
What your week will look like :
- 30% : Liaising with clients to check in on ongoing projects, presenting new products or features, handling one-off requests, and troubleshooting existing projects
- 40% : Cleaning, analyzing, and managing data to upload into our dashboards; building new dashboards, developing new features in existing dashboards, working with data team to develop new product offerings;
managing relational databases
25% : Working with strategy, planning, and account teams to troubleshoot data issues, expand organizational data management capabilities, and help out with small data-related projects;
researching and develop tech stack
5% : Professional development through company and online trainings
Experience :
- Highly proficient user of data visualization platforms (Google Data Studio preferred)
- Growing familiarity and general comfortability with tools such as Quid, Cision, and Netbase
- Ability to critically think, analyze trends to inform insights, and make well-reasoned recommendations
- Advanced Excel / Google sheets knowledge (pivot tables, formulas)
- Fast learner with ability to adopt new data analytical processes
- Ability to convey complex or niche information in a simple and digestible format
- Ability to work in a team with people from a diverse range of backgrounds and levels data literacy
- Experience writing SQL joins / queries
- Experience cleaning large datasets
- Experience developing Boolean searches
- Familiarity and working with relational databases a plus

This full-time role is open to either our San Francisco or New York locations.

- Drive teams to deliver outcomes

Compensation Range : $125K-$187K, depending on level of experience
