Security Officer
SUMMARY :
Protects buildings and grounds to prevent fire, theft, vandalism, or illegal entry. Regularly tours the facility to determine that possible entry points are secure and not tampered with.
May respond to employee calls for assistance or escort to and from parking lot or building. May be assigned to one post or may constantly tour the facility.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :
Patrols hospital buildings and premises to prevent fire, theft, vandalism, and intruders.
Controls parking and traffic flow; enforce parking regulations.
Responds to emergencies such as accidents and injuries, crimes in progress and safety hazards.
Provides assistance, summon proper authorities and police to maintains order, safety and to protect property.
Directs and / or escorts patients, visitors, and personnel to hospital buildings and premises.
Secures and / or unlocks offices and facilities.
Handles all incoming telephone calls, exercises judgment as to the urgency or other nature of the call, and directs them to the appropriate personnel.
Investigates disturbances and, in the event of an emergency, take charge of policing to maintain order, safety, to protect order.
Prepares crime, injury and incident reports; maintains records on vehicle related issues.
Performs comprehensive investigations of alleged violations of criminal law; prepares reports detailing activities and findings.
Adheres to TMC organizational and department-specific safety, confidentiality, values, policies and standards.
Performs related duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION : High school diploma, or general education degree (GED), or an equivalent combination of relevant education and experience
EXPERIENCE : Six (6) months of security experience preferred.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENT : Due to insurance company requirements, incumbent must be 21 years of age or older in order to operate a company car.
LICENSURE OR CERTIFICATION : Valid Arizona driver’s license. Security license by the Arizona Department of Public Safety.
Must complete the following within 60 days of hire : Officers must complete the Security Departments approved training program in Non-Violent Crisis Intervention, Healthcare Restraints, Self Defense, and Baton.
Officers must also complete any new additional training the department has approved to help create a safer environment for the Officer and everyone.
Officers will need to re-certify every year and complete competencies throughout the year.

Patient Access Services Representative - TMCOne Call Center
SUMMARY :
Assists medical care givers with patient management, tracking and monitoring requirements.Answers phones, pre-screens using appropriate triage skills, within allowable parameters calls in prescription re-fills, calls patients with test results and schedules patients for next appointments.
Perform extensive centralized scheduling, insurance verification, referral, billing and payment posting responsibilities.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :
Exhibits excellence in customer service through appropriate attitude and interaction with all patients, visitors and staff ;

Collects deposits or deductibles and advises patient or guarantor of insurance benefits and anticipated cost estimates; ensures that cash handling follows corporate policies.
Ensures completion of financial documentation in accordance with TMCH’s credit and collection policies.
Explains all necessary compliance forms and obtains patient signature as required for regulatory agencies.
Performs medical necessity screening and ensures compliance with system requirements.
Interacts with physicians and / or physicians’ office staff to secure diagnosis, procedure details or authorizations and information for denials as needed.
Uses medical terminology and scheduling knowledge to select correct procedure when scheduling and coordinates information with other departments as needed.
Demonstrates knowledge of resources, staffing, instrumentation, and equipment specific to procedures to avoid scheduling conflicts.
Performs patient registration activities to ensure accurate financial and biographical data and documentation have been obtained and properly entered into hospital records.
Completes insurance processing; including account creation, insurance verification, notification, and authorization functions, follow ups on denials and no response claims.
Communicates with departments / physicians for special requests, emergent cases, overbooking and add-ons; informs management about issues / problems with tools / times.
Handles incoming telephone calls and exercises judgment in scheduling caller for correct procedure in appropriate service area;
receives telephone requests to schedule from patients, physicians, physician office staff, employers, and hospital personnel, if applicable.
Explains procedure preparations to patients so they are properly prepared before arriving at the hospital or clinics as needed.
Documents all notification, authorization and eligibility information in the registration systems, uses electronic verification tools and web-based resources.
Analyzes patient accounts, determines non-collectable accounts, and recommends bad debt or charity write-offs when applicable;
analyzes and processes contractual write-offs.
Arranges payment methods or extensions of credit with patients or representatives; evaluates accounts and determines payment dates based on patient’s ability to pay and hospital policies;
explains charges, services, and hospital policy regarding payment of bills.
Arranges account collections and contacts carriers to follow-up on balances due.
Maintains current working knowledge of payer regulations, contractual agreements, computer updates, and new collection tools including understanding of the Fair Debt Collection Practice Act.
Provides information about external financial assistance, including recommending third parties.
May serve as a Medical Assistant when holds a Medical Assistant Certification
Processes Accounts Payable transactions such as : checks and posts payments to accounts receivable and verifies account balances;
prepares, reconciles, balances, and batches daily deposits and prepares receipts for deposits; verifies totals on reports and forms as required.
Reviews accounts with unusual balances after posting payments and adjustments. Researches and transfers monies between logs, as needed.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION : High School diploma or General Education Degree (GED), completion of vocational medical office training desired, or an equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.
EXPERIENCE : Preferred one (1) year of medical office and / or hospital experience to include healthcare eligibility and benefit analysis or scheduling experience for diagnostic testing and / or surgery.
LICENSURE OR CERTIFICATION : Some positions may require certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA).
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES :
- Knowledge of office management practices, including billing and scheduling within healthcare.

Case Manager - Social Worker
Case management is a collaborative process of assessment, planning, facilitation, care coordination, evaluation, and advocacy for options and services to meet an individual’s and family’s comprehensive health needs through communication and available resources to promote patient safety, quality of care, and cost-effective outcomes.
TMC Case Managers acts as an advocate for members and their families linking them to other appropriate disciplines on the care team to facilitate patient / family education for better self-management, navigation of the health care system, and to identify community resources as necessary.
SUMMARY :
Partners with a multi-disciplinary team to coordinate a plan of care utilizing expertise in counseling, crisis intervention and medical-legal issues, to ensure optimization of health outcomes for patients and their families.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :
Assesses, documents, and addresses psychosocial, cultural, emotional, and economic needs of patients and families during the hospitalization and discharge planning process.
Collaborates with the hospital care team, outpatient care team, and community agencies as needed, to creatively resolve issues that could prevent safe and timely patient discharges.
Ensures documentation in the electronic medical record is clear, concise and organized.
Assesses, intervenes, and acts as a resource in medical-legal situations for patients and families.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION : Masters in Social Work or equivalent required.

LICENSURE OR CERTIFICATION : HeartSaver First Aid CPR Certification or Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification.

The TMCOne Rincon specializes in adult and pediatric primary care, where each patient receives individualized care with compassion and respect by highly skilled staff and providers.

For TMC Wound and Hyperbaric oxygen Clinic, TMC Integrative Pain Specialists, or TMC Infusion clinic : Under the supervision of a licensed independent practitioner (NP, PA, MD, DO) :
- Administers injectable non-controlled substance medication (excluding intravenous administration) and the application of topical medications following TMC’s medication administration policy.
- Witness the RN completing a patient pill count.
- Review discharge instructions and related discharge teaching with the patient and document this in the patient record.
- Transcribe and verify patient completed admission intake forms into the EMR : prior to arrival (PTA) medications, history, allergies, pain level, screening questions, OB gyn status, vitals, Opioid risk Tool / CAGE, blood, urine, saliva drug screen testing / transcribe results, and enter discharge instructions.
Complete consent forms. For sedation procedures document : the pre-op checklist, physician led Time Out checklist, and vitals.
- Assist the physician during procedures that do not require sedation but may require fluoroscopy :
- Actively participate in a physician lead pre-procedure time out for all invasive procedures
- Under the direction of the physician, appropriately prep and hold medication vials while the provider draws up medication to administer to a patient during a sterile procedure.
For TMC Inpatient and Outpatient Cardiac Rehabilitation : Under the supervision and oversight of the Cardiac Rehabilitation Medical Director and / or Manager, and in compliance with Tucson Medical Center Policies and Procedures, AACVPR, and Medicare guidelines, the Medical Assistant provides the following in addition to the tasks mentioned above :
- Performs new patient and daily patient intakes including : vital signs, weighing of patients and collecting patient’s medical history and current medication regimen, completion of consent forms and patient data entry.
- Provides oversight of patient care for Cardiac Rehabilitation Phase III and Phase IV programs including exercise sessions and EKG monitoring.
- Monitors and performs Hand Hygiene, PPE and GG audits per TMC policies and regulations.
- Develops and maintains necessary records and files for efficient operation and data retrieval.
- Records meeting minutes through the use of shorthand or rapid long-hand to maintain accurate record of decisions.
- Schedules and maintains departmental calendar of events and assists with management of employee schedule. Assumes responsibility for assigned areas of products to purchase and ensure timely delivery on requested items, for example office supplies and maintenance items.

Requirements :
Education : Graduation from a qualified, nationally-accredited nursing program.
Experience : Licensed and / or certified in the state of Arizona, minimum 2 years of recent relevant experience in the area of interest.
Licensure or certification : Current RN licensure permitting work in the State of Arizona and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
Some departments such as OR, Ambulatory Surgery, Pediatrics / PICU, PACU, and GI Lab will require advanced life support certification (ACLS and PALS).
