Peerless Pump Company, a Grundfos subsidiary, is seeking an experienced Project Manager to join its Engineered Systems team.

The Project Manager will be responsible for managing the planning, execution and delivery of projects while keeping on-time and on-budget of engineered-to-order products to our customers.

This role will communicate and collaborate with every level of the organization to guide, assist and deliver turn-key projects while aligned with corporate policies and procedures.

This position reports directly to the Engineering Manager- Engineered Systems and will operate daily out of the Willowbrook Park Drive, Houston facility.

Relocation for this position cannot be supported and qualified candidates must have authorization to work in the USA without support.

What is the job about?

  • Develop, manage and maintain the project life cycle from order execution through production to completion in accordance with department objectives.
  • Conduct contract review to verify committed scope of supply including performance guarantees, documentation, calculations, and testing.
  • Manage and accomplish project objectives regarding order requirements and triple constraint (cost, time and quality) and progress reports.
  • Follow-up each phase of the production schedule regarding delivery status, drawings and equipment information; Work with purchasing, production and / or service to make changes as required keeping the project production schedule on target.
  • Determine and implement the exact needs of the customer with regard to specifications, inquiries, coordination of project requirements and project changes to assure customer expectations are met or exceeded.
  • Prepare instructions, packing lists, checklists and progress payment notices as required.
  • Maintain state of the art level competencies by attending training courses, seminars, workshops, etc. as required.
  • Support Continuous improvement, identify inefficiencies and eliminate errors in the project management process while optimizing strategic initiatives in order to achieve deliverables and maximize profit.
  • Perform work, promote teamwork and communicate in conjunction with our culture and corporate standards (Safety / Environmental, Quality, Continuous Improvement, Communication, Internal Controls, etc.).

What do you need to apply?

Qualified candidates will possess a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering required or 5 years equivalent experience in design, applications, or contract management role.

Additionally, have previous experience with rotating equipment including drivers, controls, and interface within a manufacturing and / or construction environment (preferred).

  • Strong relationship-building, negotiation and communication skills; both oral and written are a must.
  • Strong time-management, organizational and multi-tasking skills demonstrating on-time, on budget deliverables.
  • Strong background with rotating equipment including drivers, controls and control interface or an understanding of pump products, principles, construction, hydraulics, and application.
  • Familiarity of computer software including Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Access, Power Point, Project, etc.) and Adobe Acrobat;

Familiarity with drawing software (Catia, AutoCAD, Inventor, Solid Works, etc.)

  • Valid Driver’s License

Customer Service Representative

What is the job about?

Peerless Pump Company, a Grundfos subsidiary, is seeking a Customer Service Representative. The Fire Business Unit Customer Service Representative will act as the key conduit of information between our domestic customers and the factory.

The CSR will be responsible for providing status updates on current orders as well as be the focal point for developing delivery schedules for future projects.

The CSR must work closely with several different functions of the company (Purchasing, Operations, Engineering, Warranty, etc.

Your main responsibilities :

  • Act as single point of contact for all information pertaining to customer orders for assigned accounts.
  • Gather information related to customer requests and develop an accurate response that exceeds the customer’s expectations.
  • Communicate with both technical and non-technical resources within the factory to obtain the information necessary to address customer questions and concerns.
  • Initiate corrective actions using information gathered from customer complaints.
  • Assess and administer fees for expedited orders, change orders, and order cancellations.
  • Participate in customer visits or trade shows as required.

Your background

We imagine that you have :

BS in Communications, Business, Organizational Leadership, or similar technical discipline required or commensurate experience.

Additionally, 1-3 years of customer service experience in a manufacturing environment.

  • Working knowledge of mechanical equipment (motors, engines, pumps, etc.)
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills with attention to detail and demonstrated ability to use proper grammar and spelling.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Excellent critical reasoning skills.
  • Strong technical aptitude.
  • Experience using ERP Systems (SAP preferred)
  • Proficiency with standard MS Office programs.
  • Highly organized, self-starter that can work with little direct supervision.
  • Ability to make sound decisions when needed

Principal Duties and Responsibilities :

  • Recommend specifications and designs, lead and / or facilitate start-up, training, and commissioning of production equipment and machinery.
  • Act as project leader for large scale production or manufacturing process project activities with emphasis on inter-departmental and inter-organizational coordination and implementation.
  • Develop, implement and maintain, in conjunction with the Quality, Engineering, and Production Departments, control instructions, work instructions, and control plans.
  • Investigate and source equipment manufacturers, suppliers, and vendors to increase knowledge about new technologies and processes.
  • Propose and implement cost reduction projects for products and manufacturing processes.
  • Develop proposals for capital projects.
  • Research, develop and present manufacturing, quality, capacity and / or other process improvement recommendations to the Management Team.
  • Independently monitor manufacturing operations to identify areas experiencing problems and then provide proactive assistance as needed.
  • Duties and responsibilities may be added, deleted, or changed at any time at the discretion of management, formally or informally, either verbally or in writing.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities :

  • In-depth knowledge and application of mechanical, electrical, electronic, hydraulic, pneumatic, and other technologies as they are / can be applied to the business' manufacturing operations
  • Minimum of two years experience with PC’s, CAD / CAM systems, G&M code programming, and related document controls for process planning.
  • Proven ability to successfully lead large scale projects.
  • A minimum of one year of experience in with tool design, fabrication, construction, and troubleshooting.
  • Excellent communication skills both internally and external to the department.
  • Ability to work independently without daily supervision.
  • Knowledge of Robotics and PLC's is a plus.
  • Proven Lean Manufacturing experience.
  • Knowledgeable in machining (e.g. turning, milling, boring, etc ) assembly, and testing processes
  • An understanding of process capability analysis and measurement system analysis.
  • Project management experience and leadership skills required.
  • SAP experience preferred.

Education and Experience :

  • B.S. in Mechanical Engineering with a minimum of five years of experience preferred.
  • A combination of higher education with a minimum of ten years of experience will be considered as well.
