JOB SUMMARY :

The Security Officer protects a defined area or facility against fire, theft, hazardous conditions, and illegal or unauthorized entry to Grady Health System property and / or restricted System areas.

Monitors radio transmissions and responds to assigned calls and emergency calls for service.Performs fixed and patrol post functions, which are essential to patient, visitor, employee and physician safety and security.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS :

High School diploma or GED is required.

A minimum of one year of applicable work experience is required.

Must maintain a valid state issued driver’s license and good driving record as outlined by the health system’s insurance carrier.

Must be in good physical condition, physically capable of subduing unruly and disruptive individuals, and detaining individuals under specified conditions.

Must have command of the English language and be fully capable of accurately and precisely completing Incident Reports, Daily Reports, Safety and Fire Reports, and all other written and typed documents required during the course of their duties.

Must have basic computer knowledge to be able to check emails and complete departmental assignments.

Must be capable of working flexible hours and any day of the week.

Must be fully knowledgeable of radio communication codes and operating policies and procedures.

JOB SUMMARY :

  • The Medical Social Work Care Manager collaborates with the Clinical Care Coordinator (C3) and other members of the care management and health care teams, utilizes professional Social Work skills in accordance with social work practice standards to : assist the patient in achieving optimal health;
  • assure appropriate use of health care resources; facilitate / coordinate timely care along the continuum; decrease unnecessary variances in care through proactive care management;

develop a safe and timely discharge plan in accordance with the Joint Commission and CMS Guidelines, each patient will be ensured a planned program of continuing care which meets his / her discharge needs and to ensure a smooth hospital stay with a seamless transition to the next level of care following discharge from GHS.

SKILLS / CERT / LICENSES :

Preferred : Licensed Medical Social Worker

Case Manager Certification / Accredited Case Manager

EDUCATION :

Master's Degree in Social Work (MSW).

EXPERIENCE :

Prefer : Experience in a hospital environment.

Previous experience providing social work / case management services.

SUMMARY

The 911 Communication Dispatcher coordinates with the Communications Supervisor on a daily basis to ensure all assignments are completed.

Demonstrate complete knowledge of the Communications Center operations to include receiving, processing, and dispatching requests for emergency medical service within the Grady EMS response zone.

Ensure all in service vehicles and equipment are in an acceptable state of readiness at all times. Will be responsible for tracking and posting all units using System Status Management (SSM) while maintaining compliance to SSM posting plan.

Places units’ in-service / out of service in accordance with policy and supervision approval. Will ensure that units are taking the most appropriate routes to calls.

Will always select the closest most appropriate unit for each emergency calls. Will utilize auxiliary units : Mobile Stroke Unit, Mobile Integrated Health (MIH), Mobile Psychiatric Unit (7170) as appropriate.

Responsible for exemplifying excellent customer service behavior and timely responsiveness to co-workers, patients, clients, physicians, and vendors.

Will maintain Emergency Medical Dispatch Certification by working shifts as an E911 Communications Call Taker as needed or as scheduled.

QUALIFICATIONS

High school diploma / GED required

One (1) year experience in a high performance EMS 911 Communications Call Center.

Less than one (1) year in a high performance EMS 911 Communications Call Center with Emergency Medical Dispatcher (EMD) Certification.

Prior use of computer aided dispatch programs preferred. Experience with Tri-Tech, VisiCad system desired.

  • Emergency Telecommunicator Certification (ETC) and / or International Academy of Emergency Dispatcher (IAED) Certification preferred.
  • BLS Certification required within 30 days of hire.
