WHAT WILL YOU DO :

This position works with management to ensure continued compliance with green seal initiatives. In addition to other duties as assigned , this position may be required to be cross-trained for another position and / or responsibility in order to provide both back-up for a department as well as supplement resources needed during certain times of the year.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE :

  • Properly cleans the cooking utensils and equipment.
  • Restocks all washed items in appropriate area.
  • Maintains the cleanliness of dish machines as well as dish areas.
  • Washes, sorts, replaces, and restocks flatware, serving dishes, china, glasses, and all other washable items.
  • Assists daily in trash removal, cleaning, and maintenance of the back of house operation.
  • Assists in the organization, pick up, and cleaning of laundry area.
  • Ensures the dish machine is properly cleaned and maintained throughout the shift.

Qualifications

Description

The PantherDining Department is seeking to hire a Chef . The Chef will assist in developing menus of retail food operations, recipe testing, and evaluation.

Supervises production of all menus. Leads sustainability efforts and training. This position performs quality control checks and trains staff on quality and presentation, along with food safety and other training as needed.

In addition to "other duties as assigned", this position may be required to be cross-trained for another position and / or responsibility in order to provide both back-up for a department as well as to supplement resources needed during certain times of the year.

The Responsibilities of the Chef position include :

  • Supervises and supplies support to kitchen staff.
  • Works with dietitian to provide proper labeling, allergy, and dietetic concerns.
  • Oversees sanitation, wastes, quality control, and compliance.
  • Ensures staff accurately complete food production paperwork.
  • Submits work orders for facilities and kitchen equipment.
  • Ensures proper cleaning and treatment of equipment.
  • Selects and develops menu rotation to blend with trends and cost efficiency.
  • Oversees the store clerks to ensure proper receiving, storage, organization, rotation, labeling, and invoice verification.
  • Maintains records and computer input (FoodPro, temp logs, etc).
  • Maintains budgets to achieve a fiscally strong program.
  • Responsible for ordering, purchasing, receiving, and inventory; inventory processes and accurate completion.
  • Manages overhead costs and adheres to purchasing guidelines and solid purchasing practices.
  • Ensures all shifts are working together cohesively to accomplish goals in the dining hall.
  • Assists in the development and presentation of all retail events.
  • Adheres to set guidelines, policies, and time schedules. Prepares shifts for success.
  • Oversees staff and is responsible for evaluations and all other personnel actions.
  • Leads personnel actions including coaching and discipline.
  • Oversees training programs.

The Department of Sustainability Initiatives is seeking to hire an Administrative Assistant . The Administrative Assistant provides excellent customer service as the first point of contact for all visitors.

In addition to "other duties as assigned", this position may be required to be cross trained for another position and / or responsibility in order to provide both back-up for a department as well as to supplement resources needed during certain times of the year.

Specific Job Duties :

  • Answers the telephone and provides general information to the public.
  • Enters and coordinates payment of invoices and processing quotes for areas of responsibility in both PantherMart and Foundation accounts.
  • Completes statement reconciliation and ensures accurate and timely payments and communication with vendors. Maintains thorough vendor files.

Processes journal transfers as needed.

  • Inventories uniforms, supplies, and equipment; schedules maintenance and repair work as needed for the office, recycling center, and recycling vehicles.
  • Member of Earth Week Committee to include enhanced administrative duties which vary from year to year. Attends and / or participates in GSU and related sustainability events, such as recycling drives, annual partner awareness events, etc.
  • Responsible for the creation and distribution of the monthly e-newsletter.
  • Maintains social media pages and posts updates as assigned.
  • Drafts reports and correspondence; processes office forms.
  • Schedules and coordinates meetings as needed; reserves meeting and event rooms.
