As part of the larger Performance Driven Marketing (PDM) team, the Principal Marketing of Experimentation at General Motors is a key leadership position enabling the development and roll-out of world-class modern marketing capabilities.

This individual possesses deep understanding of marketing analytics, testing, measurement, and strategic insights. They work cross-functionally and collaboratively providing actionable and validated insights and recommendations into the vehicle brands and enterprise business marketing teams.

Key Roles and Responsibilities

  • Lead the Experimentation team providing technical expertise, road maps, workflow process management and prioritization.
  • Champion experimentation across the Performance Driven Marketing (PDM) team, driving data science programs and capabilities, and establishing best practices for experimentation testing processes.
  • Work cross-functionally with senior management across General Motors to drive alignment between company initiatives and work streams.
  • Grow the capabilities of the Experimentation team through mentoring and guidance.

Demonstrated Experience and Qualifications

  • A proven track record of 8+ years of experience leading experimentation teams, mentoring analysts, and excelling in scaling experimental methods at the enterprise level.
  • Expert knowledge of advanced experimentation and data science methods that drives a high-volume testing environment.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills. A highly effective cross functional communicator in both written and verbal skills.

Extensive client facing, senior leadership presentation experience.

  • Demonstrated experience in building enterprise roadmap and working with senior leadership to drive alignment.
  • Experience in the ad or marketing tech industry, a digital marketing agency, or a market research company a plus.
  • Experience with media budget allocation and optimization is necessary.
  • Expert and strong record in data management, marketing analytics, advanced statistical methods, and Machine Learning techniques.
  • Master's or Ph.D. degree in an analytical field is a plus (Economics, Machine Learning, Computer Science, Information Technology, Operations Research, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Econometrics)

Technical Skills and Capabilities

  • Strong problem-solving skills. Experience developing structured and logical frameworks to define the problem, analyze the data, and derive insights and actionable recommendations.
  • Ability to establish a collaborative, cross-functional work environment to execute at a high-level.
  • Excellent written, verbal, presentation, and interpersonal skills; fluency interfacing with both technical and management teams.

Ability to make complex concepts and analytics understandable and actionable.

  • Experience utilizing experimentation software tools and packages.
  • Expertise collecting, cleaning, and manipulating large amounts of marketing and media data using SQL.
  • Leveraging advanced statistical techniques for predictive modeling using Python and R.
  • Proficient in using BI tools such as Looker, Power BI, and / or Tableau to develop dashboards.
  • Familiarity with the economics of media channels (i.e., TV, Display, Paid Search, Paid Social, Programmatic)
  • Familiarity with Data privacy issues, Martech concepts and Demand Generation tactics.

Compensation :

  • The expected base compensation for this role is : ($107,482 - $171,692). Actual base compensation within the identified range will vary based on factors relevant to the position.
  • Bonus Potential : An incentive pay program offers payouts based on company performance, job level, and individual performance.
